I really don't know anything about raags. But does Raag Darbari exist in Guru Granth Sahib ji? I like listening to Raag Darbari musical instrumentals, and randomly searched for kirtan in this Raag and a few videos came up but some people are saying this raag does not exist in Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Is Raag Kanada the same as Kanra? mostly the Sarod instrument is used. I'm pretty sure the first shabd bhagat Ravidas Jis is not supposed to be sung in Raag Darbari

During the Misl Era, Panjab saw many invasions by Afghan forces, that would enter through Punjab, plunder the land of India and leave back through Punjab. The Sikhs at the time would attack these forces to free the slaves, and grab the loot. Sikhs, being the Sons of the land of Punjab, were well aware of the terrain and land. Sikhs followed methods which essentially are surgical operations. The entire method is summed up as 2 1/2 Phat. First Phat - Element of Surprise, This was the trademark of the attack. The enemy is struck unaware, and if the surprise is successful then phase one is a success. This is said to be 30% of t…

The unrecognized genocide of Islamic conquests The genocide suffered by the Hindus and Sikhs of India at the hands of Arab, Turkish, Mughal and Afghan occupying forces for a period of 800 years is as yet formally unrecognised even within India. Professor K.S. Lal estimates that the Hindu population in India decreased by 80 million between 1000 AD and 1525 AD, an extermination unparalleled in World history. This slaughter of millions of people occurred over regular periods during many centuries of Arab, Afghan, Turkish and Mughal rule in India. Sample what historians have written on the topic: Dr. Koenraad Elst in his article “Was There …

Don't mind me, just going on about a bit of philosophy and my own thoughts here. In the last era (Tretajug) Mahabharat took place. All humans were meant to be 3 times big than what the average human is today (let's just assume internet stuff is true) so 18ft tall. They had amazing strength like Bhim could lift an elephant or a few could lift mountains, shoot an arrow that'll go for miles! But maybe they were told, "In Kaljug humans will be no more than 7ft tall, faithless will be leaders, cohabitation will b common, 18 years plus will become parents and average age will be 100..." They must have thought "Hang on! Won't God get angry? Faithless leaders? People deceiv…

Just had a question regarding this specific passage within Suraj Parkash regarding Banda Singh. Now I know we have to read Suraj Parkash with a pinch of salt, however take note of the fact that Kavi Santokh Singh noted that they placed 3 things before Banda Singh Bahadur. First he was to wear the blue bana, consume meat, and then alcohol. My main concern is regarding the alcohol bit. If anyone could try to explain the importance of this, or try to explain why the Singhs offered alcohol. Please let me know.
