Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! During the times of Guroo Teg Bahadur Jee, there was a devotee dwelling in the city of Sasraam, named Bhai Phaggu. He was constructing a new house and ordered that it must have a very wide door and a large courtyard. When questioned why, Bhai Phaggu replied that this would allow the Guroo to enter into his house without having to dismount from His horse, and also that the large courtyard would allow a vast amount of Sangat to gather and have Darshan of Guroo Jee. Hearing this, somebody said to Bhai Phaggu, “Your Guroo is far away in Panjab, how will He ever come to this city?” Bhai Phaggu had faith and replied, “My Gur…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Guru Nanak Dev stayed with Bhai Lalo when he began his preaching missions. Bhai Lalo was a carpenter who earned his living honestly by working hard all day. The local village official was a corrupt person. He was known as Malik Bhago. One day he invited every resident of the village to a feast so he could make a good impression on the people. Guru Nanak Dev declined to go to the feast. Special messengers were sent to bring him. Bhago offered delicious food to the Guru and in response to his offer, waited for good words from him. Guru Nanak Dev rather than blessing Malik Bhago declined to accept any food from him. Bhago w…

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I am currently reading Sant Baba Attar Singh (Mastuana Sahib Wale) Jee's autobiography and thought it would be nice to share this with you. When Sant Baba Attar Singh Jee used to walk from one place to another, they would say "Wahe" when lifting the left foot, and "Guroo" when lifting the right, thus repeating Parmatma's Naam with a constant rhythm whilst walking.   So next time you are walking, don't just walk, recite "wahegurooo" with your every step!! :TH: Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh! We are the future generation of sikhi, we are the future khalsa panth, we are the future of what so many people sacrificed their lives, Family, their everything for! We need to make a stand become one, stick together. We need sangat, we need to educate others on sikhi, on our amazing gurus, and the gurus word Gurbani. In gurbani the truth is told, the trust which we must accept and earn. As one we need to overcome kaam (lust), krodh (anger), lobh (greed), moh (strong attachment) and ahankar (ego). We need to follow Naam japo (chant the name), kirat karo (give 10% of youre earning to charity), vand cakho (earn honestly), amri…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Guru Nanak was the first Guru of the Sikhs. He was also the founder of the Sikh religion. He travelled far and wide. Once he visited Lahore. Lahore is a big town in Pakistan. A very rich man named Duni Chand lived there. He was so rich that he had seven million rupees. To show his riches, he had put seven flags on his house. On the day when the Guru arrived, he was giving a sharadh. A sharadh is a big feast which the Hindus offer to the Brahmans. They think that whatever they give to the Brahmans after the feast, reaches their dead forefathers in the next world. They prepare the best food and give away fine clothes and money …

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH In the 1930s a young traveler was exploring the French Alps. He came upon a vast strech of barren land. It was desolate. It was forbidding. It was ugly. It was the kind of place you hurry away from. Then, suddenly, the young traveler stopped dead in his tracks. In the middle of this vast wasteland was a bent-over old man. On his back was a sack of acorns. In his hand was a four-foot length of iron pipe. The man was using the iron pope to punch holes in the ground. Then from the sack he would take an acorn and put it in the hole. Later the old man the traveler, "I've planted over 100,000 acorns. Perhaps only a tenth of them w…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH In 1982 Steven Callahan was crossing the Atlantic alone in his sailboat when it struck something and sank. He was out of the shipping lanes and floating in a life raft, alone. His supplies were few. His chances were small. Yet when three fishermen found him seventy-six days later (the longest anyone has survived a shipwreck on a life raft alone), he was alive -- much skinnier than he was when he started, but alive. His account of how he survived is fascinating. His ingenuity -- how he managed to catch fish, how he fixed his solar still (evaporates sea water to make fresh) -- is very interesting. But the thing that caught my …

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH A jury of distinguished scholars and scientists, including Albert Einstein and Orville Wright thought enough of Jimmy Yen to vote him one of the top ten Modern Revolutionaries of the Twentieth Century. Yet all he did was teach Chinese peasants to read. What made that so amazing was that for four thousand years reading and writing in China was only done by the Scholars. "Everybody" knew, including the peasants themselves, that peasants were incapable of learning. That thoroughly ingrained cultural belief was Jimmy Yen's first impossible" barrier. The second barrier was the Chinese language itself, consisting of 40,000 charact…

Setha, Gobinda and Bhaga wrre three rich merchants. They lived at Chaniot. Chaniot is a small town in Pakistan. All the three brothers were Hindus and the offered Sharadhs every year. They gave corn, clothes and coins to the Brahmans as Dakshana. Sometimes they wondered if all these things were really reached their forefathers in the next world. One day they came to Guru Arjan to find out his views about the Sharadhs and Dakshana. "O Guru," said Gobinda "We give Dakshana to the Brahmans in the name of our dear forefathers every year. Tell us whether all this reaches our forefathers or not?" "No man can tell whether your forefathers are in heaven or hell." said the Guru …

Guru Nanak died in 1539. He did not find either of his two sons fit to become a Guru. Instead he selected one of his followers, Bhai Lehna to carry on his work after him. He named him ANGAD (Myself). Thus Angad became the Second Guru of the Sikhs. Guru Angad lived at Khadur Sahib in the Punjab, India. There lived a yogi named Shiv Nath in the same village. Yogis were saints who did not marry. They had a great hold on the people. Shiv Nath was very proud. He became jealous of the Guru's fame. So he started making plans to get rid of the Guru by fair means or foul. He was on the look out for a chance to make the Guru feel small. Once it did not rain for a long time. There…

This is a problem that has always plagued me:- We are supposed to seek justice & be courageous and yet at the same time be content in accepting the will of Akaal Purakh ji. Where do you draw the line? Some tell me there is no line as everything is in His hukkham as Gurbani says this- accept it and move on, others say get justice. If an injustice occurred i don't know if i could accept everything as His hukkham. Others say an inability to accept God's will is based on your own personal fears. Guru ki pyari sangat ji i'd appreciate your thoughts...
