VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH  One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?" You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left t…

WRITTEN BY AN ENLIGHTENED SOUL! FROM TEMPER TANTRUMS TO TERRORISM Its amazing how toddlers around the age of two to three suddenly realise the value of tantrums. If they're bored – do a trantrum. If they get told off – throw a tantrum. If they're being ignored – throw a tantrum. They make so much noise, shed so many tears, sprawl out over the floor, embarrass you in the middle of the supermarket so that you just cant ignore them. But as soon as you pick them up, they smile and start speaking sweetly. Unfortunately, they have learnt "When I scream and shout then I get my way". Then around the rebellious teenager years, the grown-up kid throws bigger an…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Guru Amar Das laid the foundation of a Baoli (a well with descending steps) at Goindwal in 1559. All Sikhs joined in the work of digging the Baoli. There was great activity throughout the construction of the Baoli. After digging very deep they struck a large stone which hindered any further progress. The Guru asked the Sikhs if there was any one who would be courageous to drive a peg into the base to remove the obstruction. He did, however, warn that the operation involved great danger because if the person could not avert the gush of the water, he might be drowned. At this, Manak Chand of Vairowal, who was married to a ni…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH In December of 1657, King Shah Jahan became very ill. He decided to make his eldest son, Dara Shikoh the new king. His younger son, Aurangzeb found out about this. He told his other brother Murad that Dara Shikoh should not be the king, instead Murad should become the king. He and Murad both teamed up and decided to attack their eldest brothers army. Their combined armies faced Dara Shikoh’s army near Agra at Shamugarh where they won. On June 18, 1658 Aurangzeb had his father put in prison and then on July 31, 1658 he killed his brother Murad by poisoning him. So now Aurangzeb became the new king. A year later, Aurangzeb had…

Hello everyone. I need some help on a few topics im confused about. In sikhi do we believe that the world is eternal (has no beginning, so it has always been 'there') or that God created the world? Secondly, if i ask Sikhs about Homosexuality in sikhism, they always say to me "God created Adam and Eve, not man for a man or woman 4 a woman" etc but i thought the concept of Adam and Eve would be wrong in Sikhism becoz Eve was made from Adam (so she is not equal to him) and made to obey him, so this concept, surely is wrong in Sikhism. Thirdly, what are views on Heaven, Hell and the Devil. personally, ive never believed in the Devil because i always felt that belief i…

The Satguru (Naam) residing in the Hirda communicates back and forth with the worshipper and keeps the worshipper apprised of their state of mind at all times, in numerous ways. The Naam, li…
