We sikhs are fighting for respect and honour for Turban, but we have black sheep in our community who are otherwise preaching for adopting sikh rituals , but in fact are exploiting the innocent people with religious overtones. They are minting money from abroad . In fact they are running religious trusts and expanding their activity in Education ,under this garb they are minting crores of rupees under the pretext of running the welfare of community. They are infact not concerned for religious Maryada. They on one hand are propagating religious rituals but themselves disregard the rituals and causing disrespect to Dastar. The students of Akal Academy Reeth Kheri…

STTM 2 is an amazing tool but as its been used more and more in Gurdwara', i do however feel that the literal translations ie Akhree Arths can cause alot of confusion for youth without further explanation. Having seen Sri Japjee Sahib on STTM on an Akhand Paath Bhog, i've been bombared with questions because the literal translations require further discussion. Now if someone doesn't have access to a Gursikh then i'm certain it will leave them very very confused. A Hindu once attended a Akhand Paath Bhog and after having read the translations below was convinced that Sikhs had to be Hindu's "Gur Essar Gur Gorakh Bharma Gur Parbatee Maee" The Guru is Shiva, the Guru i…

Does anyone agree or disagree with the below if so why ? Japji sahib is the first morning prayer of the Sikhs, here is the breakdown of it .....really beutiful..read on ...... The Mul Mantra is a fate killer. It removes the fate and changes the destiny to complete prosperity. The first pauri is an antidote to depression. It will lift you from the deepest depression, insecurity, nightmares and loss. The second pauri imparts patience and stability. The third pauri transforms insufficiency, turns depression into elevation and transforms low self-esteem into complete self confidence. The fourth pauri blesses those trapped in feelings of poverty and lack of…

Introduction to the Black Cats When the freedom movement of Khalistan was at the peak, the Indian government adopted many immoral and insincere policies to suppress the movement. One of such policies was to malign the reputation of the Sikh fighters by forming groups of goons and criminals and sending them to the homes of the Sikhs to carry out immoral activities in disguise of Sikh freedom fighters. Such groups were called “Black Cats”. The intent behind this was to turn the public against the Sikh movement, giving the police more freedom to hunt down Sikhs and kill them in large numbers. These policies were kept at highly secret level. The groups of criminals…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I think we are aware all aware of the fact that couple weeks ago, Prof. Darshan's website ###### published an article saying that repeating the name of Waheguru (doing Simran) is considered manmant. Recently, Darshan's website posted a weekly message on their website saying that: ਕਬੀਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿਮਰਨੀ ਰਸਨਾ ਊਪਰਿ ਰਾਮੁ || Kabeer, my rosary is my tongue, upon which the Lord's Name is strung. ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਸਗਲ ਭਗਤ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ||੧|| From the very beginning, and throughout the ages, all the devotees abide in tranquil peace. ||1|| One day, they say that repeating the name of Waheguru is Manmat and another day they give out this…

And just a Benti to the Admin plz...The Calendar option up there^^^^ Could you update with these such events because sometimes I always manage to find out about Rainsbhai's or other Keertan programmes etc after the event has happened! its not easy for me to keep track about Sikhi related events, so it would help if there was just that one reference point... just a suggestion!

WJKWJF, Not sure if this is available everywhere, but it's a show called 'what would you do?' and they give a scenario each episode that's controversial and see peoples' reaction to it. This episode, it was a scenario of a Sikh man being denied a job because of his turban. http://abcnews.go.com/WhatWouldYouDo/ Hopefully it's available in your region. (Click on May 6, below the video player, it was aired on that date)

For many years Dr. Jasbir Mann, an orthopaedic surgeon from California, lead a failed crusade against the banee of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib by sometimes even propagating false information about Sri Dasam Granth and its history. His assertions have been challenged by many including Dr. Harbhajan Singh, a fine historian from Punjabi University Patiala who has done intensive study and research on the Dasam Banee and has also supervised PhDs on this subject. The following is Dr.Harbhajan Singh's second rejoinder to the assertions made by Dr. Jasbir Mann CLICK HERE TO READ
