WJKK WJKF, This is my first post here so I thought I'll contribute something. I was listening to Rehraas Sahib and couldn't help noticing the people walking behind. I was shocked when I saw that about 90-95% of the elders with a pagh have a pot belly. I know sikhi is not about caring about your appearance but isn't this taking it to a new level. Don't they have gyms?

I am sure that the majority of you are aware about the following blog http://sikh-reality.blogspot.com/ If not i suggest taking a look. With the was comtent on this and other forums plummeting with regards to vidiya and vedant and becoming more of 'I'm right you're wrong' or the constant dasam granth threads this blog is a refreshing change. I seemed to have learned an awful lot from this blog and i think a thank you and praise should be given to the sevadar who has opened the minds of ignorant sikhs to a broader picture esp of nihangs where the topics on here are meat, drink, drugs, chatka focused and not on the puratan vidya they used to hold. Well that is my rant i…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Siri Waheguu Ji Ki Fateh. I just want to openly invite you all to Dudley Gurdwara this Sunday afternoon (22/11/09). The Committee have announced an open meeting with the sangat regarding the putting down of ghastly benches at the back of the Darar Sahib. I am aware that many Gurdwaras have these benches, i personally dont agree that they should be there, but those Gurdwaras that have them have a LOT of sangat coming through their doors on a daily basis. Their benches are also very low, and not disrespectful to look at and more importantly to Guru Maharaj. However, Dudley Gurdwara has no sangat coming during the week, and there are a handful of wo…

We keep kesh (hair) because the Guru instructed us to do so. Kesh are also a marker of Sikh identity that identify to the world who is a Sikh. Sikhs walk the earth announcing proudly their religion while others give no sign of their convictions. In addition, hair and nails are totally different. Having long nails inhibits use of the hand. Long hair is even a reflection of good health, it is also not an impediment to daily life. Isn't it a slap in the face of those people who shave, when a day later the hair returns? Do they not think that maybe it is how God intended! Kesh ( hair ) are Guru Ki Mohar ( Stamp). The kesh is the Stamp of your Guru, look around even till t…

Just a quick question, I was always under the impression that official forces such as police or military were not openly welcome if they were in their uniforms. However I was recently at Paonta Sahib and there were soldiers sat there having langar with machine guns in their hands. I know langar is for everyone and if we understand the message of Bhai Khaniya then we are meant to do seva for everyone and not discriminate. Cant these soldiers especially in light of bluestar leave their machine guns in their truck whilst having langar? I have some photos which i will post in a bit.
