When I read this I was like :D because I would've those to save the few kids, but its reeeeally somthing to think about!!!! Something worth reading.... The story given below is quite interesting and really gives us an insight into DECISION MAKING. Which one will you choose? A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track. The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. You could make the train change its course to the disused track and saved most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the d…

Author: Admin of Tapoban Gurdwara Sahib Date: 09-07-03 17:56 For those of us who've been to Sree Darbaar Sahib Amritsar, we may have noticed a sign outside on the Darshani Deori that reads, "It is for the knowledge of all tha tin Harimandir Sahib on April 30, 1877 at 4.30 in the morning, a strange thing happened. There were about four hundred devotees enjoying spiritual peace of celestial music in Harimandir Sahib when suddently a flash of lighting was seen which in the form of a big resplendence entered throught the door on the moutain-side and exploded exactly like a ball in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and illuminating everything went out, becoming a streak of …

Dual citizenship - India!

I was just reading an article on Sikhnet about how PM manmohan singh ji plans on offering dual citizenship NRIs. I think this is awesome...i know many sikhs have always complained and rightly so about how sikhs are treated in India...how we are depicted by the government as well as the media...also how all the foreign investment has been made in the south or other areas of india, while Punjab has seen very little foreign investment or creation of new jobs... I think this is a great opportunity for overseas sikhs who are successful to go and pump some money into the Punjab economy, create jobs, buy Land back from all the bhaiyaas who are trying to get into punjab...a great…

Hello, I am new to Sikhism. About 5 months ago I found Sikhism and developed a strong faith in it, but bounced back to Buddhism (which I had been for about 11 years) when I got some backlash from my fiance, but have recently in the past several weeks come back to Sikhism due to meeting the same issues I had before with Buddhism. Coinciding with my renewed faith in Sikhism, I moved into an apartment. The day that I moved into our apartment I saw a Sikh man (assuming he is a Sikh based on his dastar and beard). He lives across the park lot from me. I have seen him many times and spoke with him very briefly once while we passed each other walking our dogs. There is also…

MahakaalAkali • 4d "Everything happens for a reason." This isn't necessarily a statement of duality. All of Sikhism is derived from logic + reason. When something happens beyond logic and our ability to reason, we just say, "everything happens for a reason", meaning, it happened for reasons beyond our ability to reason (but we are fine with that, as it is just hukam). That doesn't necessarily mean the person is stuck in duality; that all depends on how the person copes with it. If he just blows it off and goes on with life, then that's fine. If he gets mad or depressed, then he'…

CHANDER SUTA DOGRA The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has issued a notice to the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) to investigate and reply to charges about caste-based segregation in historic gurdwaras of the State. The NCSC notice that comes on a representation by Abroo, a socio-political initiative working for empowerment of the marginalised in Punjab, was also studied by its own Atrocities and Protection of Civil Rights Wing. Abroo had commenced a project, titled ‘Punjab’s Map of Shame’, last year, after it stumbled upon what it calls several “shocking and blatant cases of apartheid happening in well-known gurdwaras” in the State. Sikhism do…

Criticism of death ride safety 7:20am Friday 25th July 2008 By Alex Hayes » THE funeral of a local cyclist who died after being knocked off his bike during a charity ride took place yesterday. Mohammed Abdullah Shah, 52, from West Ealing, was taking part in the annual Birmingham to London cycle organised by Sikh Arts and Cultural Association (SACA), when he was hit by the BMW 3 series on a slip road onto the A5 in Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire on Saturday afternoon. He was airlifted to hospital in Oxford but died a short time later. A post mortem carried out on Tuesday revealed he died of multiple injuries. Now some of the other 320 riders taking part in the ride, whi…
