So my boyfriend and I have been together nine months, hes been in rehab twice and we have had so many arguments during these times. When do I say enough is enough? I moved in with him about a month ago and trying to help him get his life together so we can start our lives together, but I really cant trust or believe he is being honest with me. God is suppose to be the center of our lives but he is forever going against what he says he wants....I'm tired of trying and letting my personal strength and needs get pushed to the side all the time.....

Help! - Sikh Baby Name

My brother has just been blessed with a baby boy. We have already been to the Gurdwara, done the ardas and Hukumnama (izzit?) to get the first letter of the baby's name. Incidently, the letter that came out is the same as that for my brother's name (ie the baby's father). My question is this: can we name the baby the same as the father? We'd like it to be like XXX Sr (father) and XXX Jr (son). Is this allowed in Sikh faith? BTW, the father's name is a traditional Punjabi Sikh name (not a 'Bollywood type' name). URGENTLY response is appreciated as we have just a few more days to register the baby's birth (and give him a name).

I am designing invitation cards for Vaisakhi on behalf of our Gurudwara and would appreciate if someone could give me some good picture or artwork to put on the front cover. I have tried to Google but I was thinking it may not be a very good idea to put a picture of Guru Saheb. Any suggestions are welcome and will post the final work for everyone to see once ready. BTW, If anyone is in Kisumu, Kenya at that time, please attend the Akhand path and the rest of the programme.

Previously sikhs were classified as - Amritdhari/Non Amritdhari/Clean Shave/converted etc. Now they are classifying themselves as: UK- SIkhs American - Sikhs Indian - Sikhs Australian - Sikh .. . . . .Bla bla bla Sikhs..... Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
