Could there be a section on here where sikh posts jobs online to help other sikhs out. I know some sikhs who have been out of work for a year etc. I'm not saying this as a business venture, I'm saying to genuinely help other sikhs out who may not be able to provide for their families or pay bills- or even sikhs who dont have a degree, or who may have spend thousands on a degree but not working. I'm talking about helping to make a difference and to strengthen sikhs. Theres a relationship section on here, why not a job section aswell? We may come to a point where we need to put our money together for a cause, for defence as in our Gurus times. People may feel more comp…

Hello *first of all sorry for my bad english, it is not so easy to read and understand* i would like to know what kind of jobs are ok for sikhs or not? Or is there no any special job? Why do i ask? I studied Business Studies. But i feel not happy with that. Really not. I was wondering for years why do i have absolutely no motivation about it? I dropped out. I felt always good with operation jobs while my studies. Like Mc donalds or manufacturing and so. Wjkk wjkf, Sadh sangat ji, I have always had a problem with working, I just want to work and have an honest job, the other thing I have realized is what's the point of life, if we spend 8 hours doing stuff we dont' want to do, I just want to work an honest wage, and to have a family. It seems like money is my only impediment for this to happen, does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Joining the Army, need advice/tips on how to keep rehit 1 2 3
by Guest Fareed- 23 replies

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I am leaving for the U.S Army in the next month (basic training for 10 weeks at a fort where I will be cut off from the rest of the world). So I wanted some tips on how to keep practicing Sikhi in an environment that is not so conducive to it. I'm having paperwork done to get the religious accommodation to keep my kes, dari and wear a dastaar. So that exception will be made (which is my biggest relief) but I have so many other questions! I would really appreciate the help from anyone but especially those who have been through the military or army basic training specifically. -How do you care for long hair when you ha…

Joining YPG
by Guest Curious- 2 replies

Would any Sikhs consider joining the YPG? In the panth there's no real military which is active in military operations and in order to gain and that experience I was thinking of joining the YPG, in hope of setting up a Sikh unit which can then follow panthic operations and fulfil Degh and Tegh Fateh throughout the world.

Jooda and parna video any good one?
by Guest singh- 6 replies

I am very old like 17 and still havent learnt how to do my jooda or wear a parna ive searched on youtube many times and have tried to do it like the video says but it is too hard because i got really long hair, its getting very annoying because everyone else can do and i cant. Do you guys do jooda on the front of your head or at the back, people say its alots easier to do it at the back. If i do it at the back then how am i supposed to do the parna as it will look very unnatural as i got really long hair. And what happened to the security check thing, it wasnt working.

vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh I was woundering Well i know not to eat anybody elses food ( non amritdhari) as its jootah But if you are done with that food ... are non amritdharis allowed to eat it ? as in if there was leftovers? vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh How do you explain the concept of joot to English people? And also how do you explain to them why amrithdarees don't eat from non amrithdarees? How do I explain this to them without offending them. Because where I work, my collegues always offer me food, they know I don't eat food which contains egg and meat, so sometimes they will say, " Oh it's ok, it's vegetarian". They understand my reason for not eating outside. How would I explain it lightly to them that I only eat food which has been prepared by me and from other amrithdarees. Obviously some people would be offended by this, as it would seem as though we are…

Jooth
by Guest lowlevelcloud- 4 replies

1) What is the definition of Jooth? (Depending on this answer) 2)When we take Amrit why are we not allowed to share food with/eat with/eat from/eat from the same plate as a non-Amritdhari? (I can hear Tubelight saying 'basic hygiene people!' which leads onto 3) Why does this Jooth business not apply to family? i.e. mothers eating from a child's plate/husbands and wives sharing food 4) Is Jooth only related to food? What if an Amritdhari had to have a blood transfusion in hospital and the donor's blood was from a non-Amritdhari? Somebody help me please, cheers.
