Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fathe! Saadh sangat ji i was wondering it anyone could inform me about the 5 shastr rehat. Some questions i was wondering were, What does the rehat mean and what is it for? How will it help my sikhi? Are they a particular type of shastr? Were should these shastrs be kept? With Guru Sahibs kirpa can anyone keep this rehat? Also i have herd that it is suppost to be kept gupt, so if anyone has any of this information please let me know. Gurfateh... I'm an amritdhari and have never been in this situation before. I was at school today and I picked up a melted cheese sandwich (which I have done before and found no meat in- they're usually vegetarian!) and went to eat it. I took one bite of the end, there was no meat, but then I looked at the sandwich and I could see meat in the cheese. I never actually ate the meat, but I'm still a bit worried, as I am Amritdhari. Does anyone know what I should do? Should I do ardaas and pray for forgiveness to GuruJi? :s Please help

Fateh, From All I Have learned from sikhi, it says god controls all, which i agree with....but a couple of days ago my sister brought up the point that all sikhs that drink, smoke, cut kesh are being controlled by god and she asked me to explain that to her....and i had NO IDEA wat to say?? well basicaly the super glue that is like watery type and drys soon as it comes out the tube, its is very strong, and i was one day using it for sumet an got a blob on my chola lol and now the that bit on the chola has gone rock solid and ive tried washing it dont cum out. any ideas? thanks

I have a huge problem - I don't believe in God..this is not one of those I am confused posts cos I've read around and spoke to people and I just don't understand anything thats supernatural. I don't believe in ghosts, I don't even believe in re-incarnation cos karma simply does not make sense. I also don't believe anything happens when you die. I do however like being a good human being and I value all the life teachings of sikhi alot such as keeping kesh....I'm worried now what people will think of me if I appear to be Sikh and I then tell them that I do not believe in God. What do I do?? :wub:

I wanted to raise a point that it's very hard to find girls / women that like Sikh men with turbans and even harder to find someone who plans on taking Amrit. As Sikh's we focus so much on boys / men that we sometimes forget about the girls / women and we don't instill the values of Sikhi within many. For some reason the pressure is only on Sikh boys / men to live up to the teachings of Sikhism, this is what i see in many Sikh communities and Gurudwara's. This makes it so hard to find a partner, with the falling females birth rate to add to the issue i personally think Sikh boys / men in future will find this issue even harder. We have to address these issues as girls …

This is to the panji/paji who wanted help in the general section: yea i know what you mean i still have one exam left to do business law HATE IT..............BUT u gotta remember these exam look tough but arent! u just need to PREPARE PREPARE PREPARE ALOT before the exam and you will be fine esp. if it is for an open book exam. 1) make checklists (if its open book exam) 2) redo you workshop exercises without lookin at the answer 3) practice past papers hope this helps!!!

I have observed something and my friends here have also said the same thing. Its that sikh youth who are born and brought up in west(UK in this case)(foreign sikhs) dont mingle with sikh youth who have grown in India but have come here in recent years(desi sikhs).Now I am talking about amrithari singhs who have great love for gurughar and keertan/katha etc. Foreign sikhs wear great bana,some do wonderfull keertan and sewa …

Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
