Hi all, I'm trying to set up a Sikhi Forum on StackExchange. It requies people to follow it and upvote questions and generally take part. An Islam one, Christianity one, Hinduism one, a Buddhim one and a Judaism one are all either created or have lots of followers but no one yet has set up a Sikhism one. Any support would be much appreciated. http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/52432/sikhism Thanks.

:nishaan_sahib_right: Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh! Dear members and visitors, I'm standing four our University's student union and I'd like some ideas and tips on how to win votes. What marketing strategies could I use? I've already got the blatantly obvious ones: posters/flyers/facebook/direct-approach Anything else? Cheers.

Hey guys I would like to know if we are allowed to do paath standing up. i.e sukhmani sahib, sehaj paath etc. My legs get very tired after sitting for an hour and I can bearly make it to 1 hour 30 min. Ik practise will allow me to sit down for more than 4 hours but, that is physicaly damaging. So are we allowed to do paath while standing?

Start each morning by singing in homage to a racist paedophile in a foreign language 1 2

You thought morning assemblies at school were bad when you were a kid ? Think again. Spare a thought for kids in Punjab. They've just been instructed by direct order that they MUST start each morning session in school by singing a Hindu Hymm in Gujarati in order to pay respects to Gandhi. The best quote from the below news article comes from Vijay Sampla, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment. He says : " the bhajan is in Hindi not Gujarati. Well, It is in Hindi according to me. But even if it is in Gujarati, there is no issue. Students can learn it,” he said. ? https://indianexpress.com/article/india/punjab-students-told-to-sing-vai…

kesh Starting Again

This has started off last year when I first started having the thoughts of cutting my hair. I let them slide and I was too busy to address them at the moment. But, now sitting in quarantine, I got to stop and think about where I'm going. i'm only 16 and I realize that I have a lot ahead of me and I shouldn't make any sensitive decisions right now. However, it's been getting worse where every morning I wake up with the same thoughts in my mind. I've been trying to push them away, may Waheguru Ji help me do so, but they don't stop. I have kept my hair since the day I was born and my family is fully amrit dhari. They say that when you take one step towards Guru Ji he takes a…

What is the main belief in regards to the 10 gurus ? I've come across a few different beliefs and I'm a bit confused - this is what I've heard, can someone tell which one is correct - 1) guru means someone that's takes you from darkness to light ie guide that is divinely inspired - kind of like a prophet of the Abrahamic faiths - they were human mortals that had reached a high as status with waheguru 2) gurus were Waheguru in human form - kind of like Jesus in Christianity - someone also told me the gurus didn't have children conventuallt but all were born like Jesus as God in human form can't have Sex. 3) Guru Nanak was like God in human form but the oth…

staying away from bad company 1 2

This a point that I would like to emphasis to sikhs of all ages (and non sikhs too). who you associate with can have a big impact on your psychological wellbeing. i recommend that you avoid any group or people that engage in immoral behaviour, show cruelty to you or anyone else, or even just show undesirable qualities (laziness, apathy, etc). This is especially important for youth who are studying, but something that needs to be kept in mind by people of all age groups. I have seen from experience how important this is. Another thing, don't assume that just because some one/some people are outwardly religious or a part of some religious group, that they are good …
