i need advice on how to forget someone who i'm crazy about, because i'm finding it pretty impossible and my sikhi is suffering a lot because of it. even though they hurt me a lot, i still 'love' them and dream of being with them one day. i'm not in contact with them anymore, but i miss them so much. i'm worried because i have exams soon and i'm really struggling with revision and i can never focus on my work. i have no daily routine anymore, and usually stay up throughout the night trying to study. i've been told to do ardas and to give it 'time' .. but nothing i try seems to work, and time isn't really something i have a lot of because my exams are soon, and they're bi…

I'm considering working on a proposal to expand existing chapters of Children's Aid Society (CAS) to create affiliate branches that reflect the religious and cultural diversity of the Greater Toronto Area. Chapters that have already branched from CAS include Jewish Family and Child Services, Native Child and Family Services, and Catholic Children's Aid. Would it be beneficial to pursue a Sikh chapter? I need to know if this could be a beneficial service to Sikhs, particularly in Ontario. Do people know of Sikh cases in the system and Sikh families who have experiences with CAS?

There is a serial on the Indian Channel Sahara One, (a show my parents watch ) called Kittu Sab Jaanti Hai, and it is about a lady name Bibi Amrit Kaur (I think they are acting out the whole Bibi Jagir Kaur thing) They keep showing Sikhs with kirpans killing other people, and Sikhs doing bad things. This is really p***ing me off. Is there anything we can do?

Whenever there's a kirtan darbar at waterloo or something, you know how you're supposed to tell whoeverz in charge that u wanna do a shabad. Who are you supposed to tell? And if u find out the guy or girl's name, then how are u supposed to know who they are (how they look like). I always goto many kirtan darbars but i never get a chance to kirtan cuz i never know who to tell . And like if i'm thinking of just asking one of the bibi ji's, most of them seem pretty snobby and mean. So like, what am i supposed to do? ....

back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
