Sikh policeman wins turban case A US judge has ruled a Sikh traffic policeman, who was forced to leave his job because he insisted on wearing a turban, should be reinstated. In a preliminary ruling, the judge said he should be reinstated and allowed to wear a turban and grow his beard. Mr Jaggi said he was looking forward to returning to his old job and described the ju…

http://headlines.sify.com/3256news3.html?h...n~in~Delhi' 'Women safer in Karachi than in Delhi' New Delhi: Contrary to popular belief, women and girls are much safer on the streets of Karachi than in Delhi, according to a group of Sikh women from Pakistan, who were in India last week to participate in the fifth centenary celebrations of Guru Angad Dev. "Unlike what most people think here, Pakistan is totally safe for women, be they Muslim or non-Muslim... probably much more than here," says Nirmal Kaur, a 52-year old Sindhi Sikh, who was born and brought up in Pakistan.
