  1. Looking back at the last few pages of this thread, the jist is that we do not know the answer to the question whether Krishan Ji is indeed in Sachkhand or not. Personally, I think this is a rather useless question which adds absolutely nothing to our Sikhi jeevani. What we (me included) should be doing is making efforts to increase our avastha and Guru kirpa naal when that happens, we will see Krishan Jee ourselves (just as other abhiyasi Gursikhs have) and then ask them. The other option would be to meet a pooran Bhramgyani and ask them. But we all know how rare it is to meet one. The third and final option is to ask Guru Sahib themselves and if they are kind to us, they will tell us. This thread is now 16 pages long and it does not seem a conclusion will be reached anytime soon. It would have been much much better if we had a thread this long which discussed things like, various vidhis of japping naam, or various obstacles one encounters while trying to do kamai, or some inspiring stories which would nudge us toward doing more bhagti. As Gurbani states, bwdu ibbwdu kwhU isau n kIjY ] Do not engage in any arguments or debates with anyone. rsnw rwm rswienu pIjY ]2] (Instead,) With your tongue, savor the Lord's sublime essence. ||2||

  3. Finally got round to watching this video. If any of you haven't seen it - do it as a priority. The most respect to Bhai Mohan Singh for confronting this issue which most of our 'elders' seem to want to pretend doesn't exist or is someone else's problem. God bless you! Notice how he too notices how the establishment/media/politicians in the UK got active on the matter of grooming only after they discovered white girls were being targeted and how certain politicians (like Jack Straw) and high ranking police officials (Paul Condon) outright ignored decade old warnings/pleas from the Sikh community over the issue. Shame on them. It also shows us that in reality we have to deal with these issues ourselves.

  5. I am going on vacation for three weeks soon i wanted to contribute as much as possible. There are currently two ways of beating RSS. The reason i opened up this thread so sangat can provide their own suggestions, more suggestions better . We don't have to stick to two ways below. For example- Sangat can suggest mixture of classic singh sabha bhai vir singh literature among others with old gurmat tradition way: Anyway, here are currently two ways. 1st way is in doing parchar against RSS but while doing parchar, rejecting our own gurmat traditions and gurbani its like throwing brick on your foot...2nd way is better than 1st way but risk are involved in the 2nd way as well, its just need some polishing. i opened up this thread to have good mixture thought which can beat RSS..hopefully bijla singh can respond to this thread as well: 1. Protestant way- By making gurmat an abhramic faith by changing difination of vahiguroo to western idea of God instead of sargun and nirgun, keeping rejecting all the gurmat traditions, rejecting sri dasam granth sahib, bhai gurdas ji varan and sri sarbloh granth also go even one step extreme like bhausaria did - http://www.sikhsanga...t-in-the-panth/ They keep rejecting everything within Gurmat by reforming traditions/thought/concept within Gurmat (sargun and nirgun), make it more victorian and protestant i.e- abhramic version of God instead of sargun and nirgun of Vahiguroo. Totaly disconnect sikhi from indic culture (tilak ceremony, shastar pooja, raag vidya, nine different types of bhagti on sri guru granth sahib ji, consider sri guru granth sahib ji and guru sahib as avtars not just mere prophet or reformer) and attach it with hippie western/scientific/rational/logical thought. If they are fighting against rss by taking gurmat away from indic culture, they surely are welcoming themselves to christianvad thought. Quite bluntly thats what bhausaria/kala afghana/anti dasam mindset did, now its coming to bite us back in our arse (outright rejection of sri dasam granth, sri sarbloh granth among traditions listed above). 2. Old tradition Gurmat way- Accept Gurmat the way it is, instead of rejecting traditions/thoughts within Gurmat, acknowledging continuity of yug avtars , concept of avtars listed in japji sahib by sant gyani gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale and shown - six diferent types of avtar (poran guru avtar- satguru nanak dev to satguru gobind singh ji highest, 2nd highest- puran hari avtar and how Gurmat is independent which includes everything (bhagti gyan, shabad surat, sargun nirgun as advait, no caste bullocks or useless karam kands, sant sipahi, shakti) + more all in one- Khalsa svaroop.. This includes everything as - all tat(essence) of all their hindu spiritual school of thoughts which are fragmented all over where regular joe blow hindu is running one from one spiritual school of thought to another as chicken running with his head cut off , turning up totally confused..!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's known fact - according to bhai gurdas ji varan- all yugas mantar by yug avtars (satjug, treta, dvapar, kalyug) got completed/combined after being prepared in yugas complete- as Vahiguroo given by one and only satguru nanak dev nirankar..! Vahiguroo mantar is such a great mantar not just its giver of salvation, its great missionary tool. Nirmale baba ji name- baba isher singh ji kaljugi wale did 500 arths of vahiguroo mantar ( i m trying to get the book i believe only 60 arths of vahiguroo are in print at the moment). In his interpretation he didn't shy away from indic culture and rejected gurmantar interpretation and became christianvaadi. He used this mantar as great missionary tool to convert hindus to the khalsa by including every indic avtars/concepts in there so its presented as to "confused hindu" who is scratching his head off by looking at the complexity umbrella of hindu orders- its presented as - your spiritual search is over..!! Satguru nanak dev nirankar bless us with Vahiguroo mantar which has all indic sargun saroop of vahiguroo which you running around like chicken in all direction for + it has more importantly nirgun saroop of vahiguroo and its complete mantra of all yugas!!!!!!!!!!!.and only way to take the mantra as everyone know- khanda batta da amrit..surely when they first convert their thinking is bit sargun based just like everyone else, as they keep reading beautiful gurmat theology and gurbani their thinking would be more and more towards nirgun based. It's through like this method- Nirmale(scholars knights of the panth) have converted many many many hindus to khalsa panth!!!!!! What you guys think? Any suggestions are welcome? I am sure together we can come up with something concrete. Either we sikhs shy from indic culture and roots and go more towards western christian version of Sikhi or we accept indic culture and roots of sikhi and gurmat which includes everything and every answer to everyone's devotion.!!! Gurmat is fastest way to sachkhand.

Regarding canines - they are for biting into apples and other hard fruits/ vegetables , if yo think they are for eating flesh try jumping on a cow's backside and digging your canines into her hood - all you will get is a good kick .... And singher bhaji - even though your milk is organic you are still stealing it from the cow , which she intended to be for her calf - ask the farmer what he does with the male calves btw

  8. Guru Gobind Singh was very out spoken to totally reject the Hindu Gods and Goddeses. In his Divine compositions he proclaimed-- God has no incarnation. Ye say that God is unconcieved and unborn. How could he be from the womb of Kausalya, (Ram Chandra) If he whom we call Krishna were God,why was he subject to death? Why was God whom ye describe as holy and without enemity have driven Arjan's chariot. Worship as God Him whose secrets none hath known or shall know. Thirty three Sawayas--X111

  9. Statement from the Sikh Federation (UK) UK Foreign Minister responds to Sikh concerns about the possible visit of Jagdish Tytler and KPS Gill to the London 2012 Olympics Over the last few weeks many Sikhs have written to MPs about the possible visit of Jagdish Tytler, KPS Gill and others from India as part of the official Indian delegation for the London 2012 Olympics. In the run up to the start of the Games the Sikh Federation (UK) has been pushing Shadow Foreign Office Ministers to get a response from the Foreign Minister responsible for relations with India. Staff working for John Spellar MP have been in daily contact and at the end of last week complained due to a lack of response from the UK Government. Today the Sikh Federation (UK) has been copied the letter sent to John Spellar MP, a Shadow Foreign Minister, by Jeremy Browne the Foreign Minister responsible for relations with India. The letter states: The Foreign Office ‘do not routinely comment on individual cases.’ But has confirmed its policy is clear ‘that accreditation shall be refused to any individual who may present a safety or security risk, where their presence at the Games or in the United Kingdom would not be conducive to the public good or if there is independent, reliable and credible evidence that they have committed human rights abuses.’ The Foreign Minister continues: ‘I am aware of the level of concern in the Sikh community in Britain about the treatment of their fellow Sikhs in India. We note that in 2005 Indian Prime Minister Singh offered an apology for the 1984 massacre in Parliament during discussions on a new judicial inquiry into the violence. Whilst the Indian government has indicated that the events of 1984 will be looked into further, the British Government has no locus to intervene in India's judicial process.’ The letter has not confirmed or denied Jadish Tytler and KPS Gill will be at the London 2012 Olympics so we must be on guard if they still turn up. However, the language used by the Foreign Minister implies ‘accreditation’ may have been refused. The Foreign Office was very unlikely to categorically state the Indian Government has been told the likes of Jadish Tytler and KPS Gill are not welcome, but UK MPs who are familiar with the type of diplomatic language used by the UK Foreign Office have suggested the Sikh community should interpret from this letter that the UK Government has taken the matter seriously and India would not now risk these individuals representing them in any capacity at the London Olympics.

  10. Only5 = Not a single question of mine is being answered. UK = Paji that was because you avoided answering all of the fundamental questions posed in the thread prior to that. Only5 = And you expect me to answer your base less questions? Get real here, i was not born yesterday. UK = Ditto Paji :-) Why would i bother investing my time answering vague questions, which seek to deflect the matter away from those that defend the clearly anti-Sikhi material in sections of today's so-called DG? Hence, I thought I'd ask you again before answering in detail :-) None of us were exactly born yesterday, were we? :-) Only5 = If you want to discuss Bachittar Natak then first tell me what Bachittar Natak means. Then we can move forward and see if you actually understand the latter Shabads in Bachittar Natak. UK = If i'm wrong in thinking it means "divine play" then please feel free to educate me. But I do feel Natak in its base sense is an appropriate description for those elements which were not authored by Dasme PaathShah. You seriously expect us to believe Guru Sahib who had no caste (yes you read that right) ... went on to broadcast a false genealogy ... that's pure Beadbi of our Guru by yourself Paji and you fundamentally must realise that!? Only5 = If you honestly wanted to learn the truth about Dasam Bani you would not hide. UK = Well, since I've come out of hiding now, I hope you do the decent thing now Paji and answer the questions posed in the thread that you've consistently dodged up until now? Only5 = From your post it is visible you want to spread your manmat here and nothing more. UK = Paji, what bigger manmat can there be than accepting the Dusht Daman, Durga Mata, Raam Chander genealogy + Charitropakhiyan stories as pure Gurbani? Only5 = Also from you so called caste comments it is clear you have not read Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj. Have any of the Bhagats said there caste in Gurbani? UK = I have in fact Paji, albeit not enough ... but your point regarding the Bhagats mentions hold no validity whatsoever ... there is a difference between humbly accepting the occupations the Bhagats were engaged in when Hindu+Muslim society despised the very same ... and claiming to be descended from the most elite lineage in Hindu culture + society. If you don't see that and it's contradiction to the whole ethos of Vasakhi 1699 and the birth of the Khalsa Panth then I feel you are not being honest to yourself. You really might as well as join the hordes that ignore Sri Anandpur Sahib in preference of Sri Hemkunt Sahib and takes some photo's of Maa Durga statues while you're at it ... because according to you, if Sant Ji said it's true ... then it must be true ... regardless of the lifetime evidence of Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj that we have and the birth of the Khalsa Panth. Only5 = You are so against Sri Charitorpakhyan UK = Paji, every Sikh ought to be because the tales simply weren't written by Dashmesh Pithah! Or are you basically saying that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is too limited and doesn't contain all the answers needed? That in the midst of fighting tyranny, oppression and a society for Sarbat Da Bhala ... Guru Sahib made the time to write that? LoL! Paji you may convince a few of such pure anti-Gurmat ideology ... but sooner or later the secret will be out and then people will ask why did these pro-100% of today's so-called DG folks accept and promote such anti-Sikhi, anti-Gurmat and anti-Amritdhari material for so long? And what was their hidden agenda in maligning Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and deflecting focus away from the birth of the Khalsa Panth? Or was it just blind faith as most suspect. Only5 = and your ignorance shows very clearly that if i present one shabad from Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj, you would reject it because your mind is not able to grasp the message and is stuck on what you can't get past. UK = I'm a Sikh + I will never reject a single letter of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj because I have read Guru Sahib and I firmly believe in everything (though I daresay me and you might interpret certain things differently). What I won't do is believe in those aspects of today's so-called DG that stand in contradiction of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Like I said the onus is on you to justify each and every anti-Sikh element to today's so-called DG. Please explain in detail the whole story about Dusht Daman, Durga Mata, all the Charitropakhiyan stories and justify why Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj would have (in your opinion) broadcasted to the whole world the whole Raam Chander genealogy? I respect your devotion a lot but frankly it's disappointing that you can't plainly see which forces stood to gain from the Raam Chander genealogy and the Dusht Daman story gaining wider acceptance. Blind faith simply isn't good enough Paji. You're not answerable to your Sant Ji. We as Sikhs are answerable to ParmAathma. Only5 = So before we go any further answer my simple questions. UK = Ditto i've answered now ... so I hope will you do the courtesy of answering the points addressed to you in full detail? Only5 = First one is up in this post and here is the next one, which i already asked and you ignored out of your own self interest. Only5 = Are devta, devis, demons, Jamdhoot real according to Gurmat? UK = My interpretation is that they have relavance in a metaphoric sense but not much more beyond that. UK = Paji, look at it like this if you can provide a detailed and lengthy breakdown answering the main questions posed in the thread against the lack of authenticity corroborating sections of today's so-called DG ... then you could save the whole forum from falling into the so-called "manmat" of rejecting the false Dusht Daman + Durga Mata concept, rejecting the fake Raam Chander genealogy and you could even convince them of why the Charitropakhiyan stories were so necassary to write during Aurangzeb's rule when Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj already gave us all the protection we need. UK = Perhaps you might even care to refute what Dhunda Sahib says on the video line by line? ---------------------------------------- @ onlyfive Paji would you perhaps care to explain and justify the critical issues mentioned below in reference to certain elements of DG+SG which are in dispute: KhalistaniGunMan = guru Nanak devji exposes suryavanshi lineage? UK = LoL, KGM Paji do you actually seriously believe human beings are descended from the Hindu Devta - the Sun God (Surya) and his Hindu Goddess wives Saranya and Chhaya!? Good luck believing in your Suraj Devta! KhalistaniGunMan = yet sri guru gobind singh ji claims lineage from sri raam chander ji himself in his divine bani UK = So Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj who took Amrit from the Punj Piare ... and who emphasised ke "manas ki jaath sabhe ek pech'chaano" ... and dedicated his whole life to overturning tyranny, discrimination, the wretched caste system etc, etc and who the whole Panth knows was the Paragon of Nimrata and Humility ... suddenly out of nowhere decides to (allegedly) broadcast to the whole world that the Hindu's Avatar (or "God in Human Form") Ram Chander is his divine ancestor ... and you're so gullible that you cannot see this is a blatant interjection by anti-Sikh pro-caste forces aligned with the Mughals in order to malign Sikhi ... study Vasakhi 1699 rather than Dusht Daman or Durga or Charitropakhiyan is all i can say. Is Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj's life between the time of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's shaheedi and the GurGaddi passing to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj more important or relavant ... or the alternative Dusht Daman + Charitropakhiyan type narrations? Which historical event is more important to what Sikhi is about fundamentally ... the birth of the Khalsa Panth at Sri Anandpur Sahib ... or the supposed slaying of demons by Dusht Daman in (allegedly) Uttarakhand as well as stories which are fairly common in bookshops? Like I said onlyfive Paji, i think the emphasis is on you to prove why those elements which have been highighted as controversial are in your opinion allegedly authored by Guru Sahib!!! In fact if you can give me a line by line breakdown and justification of the Dusht Daman, Durga Mata, Raam Chander genealogy and Charitropakhiyan stories I’d be most obliged. Because I sincerely believe that no Sikh can adequately justify such blatantly anti-Gurmat material and I don't think you're going to manage it! Please bear in mind Paji that those parts which do not contradict Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj are not in dispute, so it is the aforementioned adulteration that is the issue at hand.

  13. If you cut your hair, it will grow back because it is supposed to be long. It's part of the bana of a human being. Just like stripes are part of a Zebra's bana, or tusks are part of a elephant's bana. God won't be mad at you if you cut it, nor will he be happy if you grow it out. We keep it long because we prefer His roop over the latest "fashion trends".

  15. the easiest way is to always go to satsangat, their energy will help you progress. i have noticed more difference in the level of my sikhi jeevan in this past year than i have in any previous year, and the reason is b/c maharaj took me to satsangat more often. if you don't understand and there are no english programs in your area (sometimes gurmat schools have english programs), then i suggest going to the naam japna sessions, going to listen to kirtan, and learning punjabi. also, reading sakhyian of the the Gurus and sants helps immensely when the going gets tough. if you can, going to the amrit vela meditation sessions can be a big boost.

  16. you need to lose the ego in order to meet God. the only way to lose the ego is to give the head to the Guru. that means we accept the Guru's way of thinking, and that includes keeping the hair. i've been through this whole process of doubts that you guys are going through. trust me, once you take amrit and walk the path (while continuously going to satsangat), your whole mindset will change and you will not only realise the mahaan kirpa of kesh, but wish that you had taken amrit earlier in life. by the way, bhagti is stored in the kesh

  17. I'm really surprised at brothers/sisters who've bought into the Saka/Scythian theories and talk about them as if they were proven, established facts. Some of you regulars might have noticed that I do have an ongoing interest not only in history but also the processes behind the writing of history - historiography. The truth is that the theories put forward by colonialist white Europeans where based on the most tenuous links, with pretty much no (or very little) evidence as support. This goes for the both the 'Aryan invasion' theories and the 'Scythian' one. It's telling that whilst Europeans demand the most inscrutable evidence for proof of history as our people put it, they themselves can put forward bullsh1te like this with claims to authority. But look closer and you'll learn essential (and often uncomfortable) truths about people, supremacy, imperialism, slavery, propaganda. When our society started to come under the notice of the British (late 1700s), we weren't doing too badly. It's also a fact that white supremacist thinking was taking a hold of the European mind in a strong way at around this time. So imagine the thoughts going on in the minds of a colonialist supremacist at what he saw: With a strong warning against using our ancestors actions and achievements for personal ego enhancing purposes today, I'll state that (amongst other things) they saw in the Sikhs/Panjabis and their society/culture: high levels of bravery, reflection, adaptation, organisation, freedom, open mindedness, reform and dynamism. This is written all over early European accounts, even when the writer has been a jealous observer. Now to the white supremacist mind this didn't compute, because here we had these BROWN people who clearly demonstrated values and characteristics that they felt where their especially their own and specific markers/evidence of their own supremacy over non-whites. So what they saw completely put white supremacist theories in the dustbin (where they belong in my opinion). So how did European 'intellectuals' resolve this striking dissonance? By rewriting history based on the most tenuous of 'links' that somehow twisted matters so that the non-white achievers they saw before them, somehow became white - or originated from 'white lands'- hence the Aryan/Scythian buckwaas. Not only this, it also served in a justifying capacity for their imperialism along the lines of 'your ancestors where whiteys like us who conquered this place and ruled over it in the past, we are just carrying on that tradition'. The kind of jazz Edward Said spoke about in his famous work Orientalism, which I'll now quote: Okay, going back to the post annexation situation, it isn't hard to imagine that some (many?) of our defeated people lapped up the idea that they were related to the same or similar stock to the new conquerors, having your @rse kicked can do that. However, in this post hoc analysis scenario we find ourselves in today, I put it to the forum that only the most magnificent specimen of an <banned word filter activated> wouldn't be able to see how the 'theories' worked strongly in favour of the colonialists in maintaining control over the Panjab and that this reality heavily motivated their emergence and promotion. I mean I've read these old colonialist theories, most of them are as weak as "Jats are descendant of the Massagetae, and the the evidence of this is that 'getae' sounds like Jat." Having outlined the historical context of the emergence of such tenuous and obviously motivated 'theories' the big question for us should concern the matter of why some of our own brothers (and sisters) are STILL swallowing this crap, hook, line and sinker today????

  19. Scaremongering!!!!! Only people who are doing this scaremongering is the anti-Dasam Bani people. They take one tuk of Dasam Bani and distort the tuk by saying..........look sangat they are saying to worship devis and devta. Really pathetic people. If you really want to have this debate on Dasam Bani. Then start a new thread and show us which part is anti-gurmat by giving a proper explaination. Admit it!!! Your understanding of Gurbani is weak. You couldn't even explain what Bachittar Natak means. Not trying to have a go at you, but you are disrespecting Guru Sahib's Bani out of complete ignorance. Even present a story out of Sri Charitorpakhyan and myself or another member can show you how wisdom can be gain from it. Present any Dasam Bani Shabad and members here can explain the Shabad. We have Sikhs that believe in the Christain God saying the Gurus were not God. We have the lighter skinned Sikhs saying God gave Sikhs yoga as a way to meet God and they are bowing to stone idols, and once again we have Sikhs who want to put on blindfolds and discriminate against the same Guru. Before you put on your blindfold and go on a witch hunt tell us this. Are devta, devis, demons, Jamdhoot real according to Gurmat?

  20. 1. Ragi Darshan's fake professorship isn't relevant to Dasam Granth discussion, that is correct, but he should not be misleading people into thinking that he has academic stature by attaching professor to himself 2. What is a certified video? You are asking for a video then straight after saying that any video evidence I might find has been edited to be anti-Ragi Darshan. You cant have both. Here is evidence 3. You didn't answer the question of the academics who are for and against Sri Dasam Granth. Do you agree that Sikhism's most respected scholars back a pro-Dasam Granth stance? If they do, is Ragi Darshan more intelligent to spot something that they missed? 4. Has Ragi Darshan ever had santhiya of Sri Dasam Granth. How can one seek to evaluate the message given in religious scriptures when one has not even bothered to find the correct pronunciation. Isn't it santhiya first than katha later? 5. Can you please tell me why Thaliand Wala/Jeonwala/Ghagga/Dhunda/Jachak all have affiliations to the Gurmat Gian Missonary College? Isn't there something systematic about the anti-DG brigade 6. If you dont believe in Dusht Daman story, can you please explain Ragi Darshan in this below video. Why has Ragi Darshan used DG for his own means two fold, once to make money then second to gain popularity (for the wrong reasons) 7. Why do you keep comparing the ideology of DG with that of the great 11th master of the Sikhs. If the ideology and the message is the same, then there would have been no need for DG to be written by our beloved, brave 10th master. DG has a totally different role to play in the Khalsa system. 8. That stuff you have posted in blue, it's tone suggests that no Dasam Granth has ever existed. Isn't that contrary to your position of there are good bits and bad bits, but there is a granth written by the great 10th master?

  22. Can you tell us what Bachittar Natak means? Also Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj mentions history of Bhagat Prahlaad ji Maharaj, Bhagat Namdev ji Maharaj, Krishna, and much more, but like you say the birth of the Khalsa holds more relavance, then why isn't it put in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj like the history of Krishna and Sri Chand? Sri Charitropakhyan, how do we understand such complex writing? How to grasp the complex world without falling victim to maya? Sri Charitropakhyan is amazing writing that explains the ways of many people in this world. Every father protects their sons and daughters from the evil of other people in this world. Satguru compiled Sri Charitorpakhyan for his Sikhs to learn before they get caught by this evil of others. Sri Charitropakyan is misunderstood by majority of the Sikhs. The wisdom in Sri Charitropakhyan is not graspped by many Sikhs because of their own lacking. They are over taken by kaam (lust) and can't see past their animal instinct. These Sikhs need to do more bhagti and then try again to read Sri Charitropakhyan. Through these stories Satguru is telling us how to be better Sikhs and how to avoid or get yourself out of circumstances which will be damaging to our jeevan. The world is not a box of chocolates. A person needs to be wise, alert, and trusting at the sametime. Read Sri Charitropakhyan with a clear mind and much wisdom can be gained.

  23. To the person who started this thread (and anyone else who wants to know why we keep our hair)..... As said before we keep our hair because God made us that way. To cut it is to say God got it wrong, and instead of following God, we then follow the person who first cut their hair and started off the man made trend of cutting hair. If a man cuts his hair including his beard he deforms his face. It's just like drinking, smoking, herion, cocaine, they are all man made pass times that some people choose to follow, however a Sikh never should !!! You're probably doing this for a woman or women. Alot of women are drawn to more feminine features, like flowers, make up, jewellery, flowery dresses and skimpy little sandals etc etc. A male face with the hair scrapped off it does look more pretty and feminine and therefore women are more likely to be drawn to a pretty little lady like face, as it fits in well with all their other feminine collection. Especially as the media reinforces this! I put the question back to you: All 10 Gurus didn't cut their hair, drink alcohol, smoke or commit Adultery. So why would we do any of these things including cutting our hair? If anyone can answer this question I'd like to know????

  26. If the Gurdwara was a secular place, then you would be right, but the Gurdwara is the house of Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj. Which means the Gurdwara committtee must only allow those ads that go by Gurmat. If a Sikh male or female wants a person with cut hair, then they can search for a partner using other methods, that accept their lifestyle. Sikhi does not accept the practice of cutting hair. People can make their choice without the Gurdwara harbouring practices against the Gurus teachings. Also if the Gurdwara didn't allow practices against the Gurus to be advertised, then there would be no misunderstanding on whether the person cuts hair or wears a turban when the two families meet.

  27. Totally agree with above post. IF u want to see true tarna dal Singhs please go to harianbela. "Nihang karam Singh" is a total joke and should be representing himself as a nihang. Unfortunately 98% of UK nihangs are an absolute joke. Baba nihal Singh also agrees.
