  1. I agree with u man, thats y i NEVER EVER support any gorah anti-muslim groups, coz underneathe it all, we r all the same to them, no matter how much they love our grins. Sikhs should ONLY collaborate from within, never work with ppl, who dont fit the khalsa mentality.

  2. Islam is nothing more than an ideology of terrorism, hate and radicalism. This is an individual who has expressed a desire herself to discard such an ideology and adopt a better way of life.

  3. Don't be a hero, Big T. Just let the fella be. Unless he thinks your name is Paul Allen and he says he has reservations at Dorsia, I wouldn't give it much thought.

  4. “They [feminists] share the instinct for tyranny and destruction - and they are filled with self-loathing. In the end, leftist feminists yearn to submit to, and submerge themselves within, a despotic monolith. Because they despise their own society and are bent on its destruction, they cannot concede that adversarial cultures may be more evil, because that would legitimize their own host society - and they can't allow that. It would rob them of the moral indignation -- and the identity of being victims -- that lies at the foundation of their politics of hate.” ― Jamie Glazov

  5. That's why I believe humanity as a collective will always be flawed. To err is human, as the saying goes. Human nature is unpredictable in many ways, but predictable enough so that it can be charted. It seems like a paradox but history bears testament to the same patterns over and over again. Yet we never learn. The only true power we have is the power over the individual, I.E. ourselves.

  6. Those "muslims" who were allies of sikhs/sikh gurus, were sufis, who were/are/always will be kuffars to sunnis's. Sheikh Farid wasnt allowed inside mosques and denied a muslim burial coz he was a sufi. Those sufi's r so opposite of normal sunnis let alone the h@rami salfist/wahabis of 2day.

  7. Absolutely, which is why much thought needs to go into exposing his shortfalls, is it really going to help others, make matters worse/better or serve another purpose...

  8. I think that with too much individualism, society becomes very weak and becomes very decadent. These societies become very confused and lose their morale compass with cultural relatism. You see this in today's society. It has happened in previous societies in history like the Roman Empire. I think that Indian society became very decadent and weak before the Islamic invasions came. Once you have that, something in society craves the complete opposite and the pendulum can swing the other way.

  10. You're right. We need a balance between the left's emphasis on individual liberties, and the right's stress on tradition, societal coherence and order. Allow either to be taken to their ideological extremes and what remains is a weak society (in the case of the left) where everybody is so wrapped up in their personal freedoms that their country barely manages to function, or a tyrannical one (in the case of the right) where the people's inherent privileges are all sacrificed for the good of the nation. Sikhi balances liberty with order very well I think.

  11. Often, on Muslim forums, a discussion like this appears, in which members debate how they can get a Sikh girl to turn her back on her family and embrace Islam. I often think, what kind of un-caring monsters are these that have no thought or care about the loved ones of that girl, how they will feel and how much hurt will be caused. This thread, is a complete mirror image of that.

  12. One of my observations as an outsider to the gora-sphere is that during the 70s and 80's, the traditional left of society used to be working class labour party types, this from a Sikh perspective is where a lot of interests were allied for equal rights to pay and for a fairer society. Somewhere down the line, the Left has become completely difference as they do not identify with the working class, they have become champagne socialists, I cannot say whether that was pre-Blair or Post-Blair. As a Sikh, I have seen the left (which may have been more liberal and tolerant in the past) becoming increasing intolerant and shut down dissent and become more fascist, where they do not allow freedom of speech when it does not agree with their viewpoint. In many ways, the right has become the good guys. It's like things have become topsy Turvey. If I may use a Sikh principle here, when we talk about Miri-Piri or Sant-Sipahi, my understanding that even though we do not believe in the duality of left and right that there needs to be a balance between there somewhere. The extremes of both right and the left are the same. I am just formulating my opinions here and still trying to iron out some of these details.

  13. I was reading something a few days ago about notable white American liberals (American equivalent of what, I guess, are professional liberal organisations that lobby for Leftist causes) who espouse the usual stuff about issues that have never affected them, but love to posture on their soapbox and tell others how to think and behave. Most of these live in approx 97% white areas; don't send their children to schools where there's a considerable ethnic student body, and don't come face to face with anyone of colour in their day to day lives, aside from the odd South Asian taxi driver and their South American house-help. It's hilarious, and the same applies to these cossetted Leftists in England. How many of them live in Luton, Tower Hamlets, Rochdale, Brixton (the non-gentrified areas), etc? After a day's hard work of waving placards and staring down the equally undesirable thugs on the Right, where do they retreat to? Yep, their leafy suburbs, away from the rabble they profess are their brothers and sisters. Whilst their hearts are undoubtedly in the right place, the sense of self-righteous delusion is off the scale. When the dark times arrive, they won't be anywhere to be seen.

  14. Some praises of Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj, sung by a sewadarnee, which are very dear and sweet in hearing, that much, that one feels like keeping on listening them without any stop. Such is the power in the mahima of Guru Sahiban, that one forgets everything, and a keen desire arises in our hearts of remaining at His Lotus Feet at all times... Sat Sree Akal.

  16. I like your explanation Sikhni777. In physics the famous double slit experiment used a set of single electrons (particles) fired one after the other through 2 slits. The result was an interference pattern which is characteristic of a wave and not a particle. This implied that each single electron would go through both slits; through no slits; through just the left slit and through just the right all at the same time! Quantum field theory explains this by stating that matter is neither a wave nor a particle. It is something more abstract and could be considered as a simultaneous co-existence of all possibilities. This leads to the idea of superposition i.e. all possibilities potentially existing at the same time. Gurbani mentions the idea of superposition as being an intrinsic part of creation and the creator. "You have thousands of eyes, and yet you have no eyes. You have thousands of forms, and yet you do not have even one. You have thousands of lotus feet, and yet you do not have even one foot. You have no nose, but you have thousands of noses. This play of yours entrances me." "He himself is formless, and also formed; the one lord is without attributes, and also with attributes." "At the same time, he is both hidden and revealed. For the spiritually wise, doubt and fear are dispelled." Gurbani also goes further to mention that mind or consciousness and matter are interchangeable and that the spirit of God rests within both. "You yourself are conscious of your creation." "Wherever i look, i see the lord pervading there, in the union of consciousness and matter." "The distinction between mind and matter has been destroyed, and the darkness has been dispelled." "He himself is mind, and he himself is matter." In Sikhism the description of Waheguru is so unique that for many it goes beyond understanding. Many times what may appear as an apparent contradiction is only due to lack of knowledge and correct understanding of Gurmat teachings. Sikhism holds Waheguru as the absolute power, pure truth, the only creator, without fear, without hatred, beyond time and limitless. He is everywhere and nothing is without Him. He is within His creation and beyond. Take sunlight as an example, it is colourless, taking the colours of the rainbow as SarGuna and in which case sunlight as Nirguna as it has none of the rainbow attributes. If this light is passed through a prism, it splits into seven bands and each band has a different colour (SarGuna). If these split light beams are collected and inverted back by suitable optics, they will all merge and again become one colourless beam. Nirguna can become Sarguna and Sarguna can become Nirguna. If it can be done in physics then cannot God do this also? With this example one can see that Nirguna has all the Gunas or qualities in it. So if in Gurbani one finds the concepts of Nirguna and Sarguna, it appears all the same. The summation of all the Gunas is equal to Nirguna. In other words out of the Nirguna all the Gunas originate. Karta Purakh has all the Gunas, but there is no need for Karta Purakh to show them off, Karta Purakh remains in Nirguna state. Sikhs openly accept this concept of Sargun Nirgun to be true since every word of Gurbani is directly revealed from Waheguru. Therefore, God is Nirgun and Sargun. saragun niragun nira(n)kaar su(n)n samaadhheeaap || He possesses all qualities; He transcends all qualities; He is the Formless Lord. He Himself is in Primal Samaadhi. (Ang 290) niragun aap saragun bhee ouhee || He Himself is absolute and unrelated; He Himself is also involved and related. (Ang 287) raaj joban prabh thoo(n) dhhanee || thoo(n) niragun thoo(n) saragunee ||2|| O God, You are my power, authority and youth. You are absolute, without attributes, and also related, with the most sublime attributes. ||2|| (Ang 211) nira(n)kaar aakaar aap niragun saragun eaek || He Himself is formless, and also formed; the One Lord is without attributes, and also with attributes. (Ang 250) At the beginning of time God was all pervading and was only Nirgun as there existed nothing but Him. Then He created the entire creation i.e. solar systems, galaxies, planets, life forms, humans etc. In other words, anything to everything originated from God. From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad? ||1|| (Ang 1349)
