Alcohol, tobacco - anything related to these are not good. Sikhs must stay away from them. If one drink or smoke or is Bhangi/amli then that is their choice. Finding silly little things to justify its usage in our dharam is just plain wrong. you can’t have everything. Stay in one boat. -
Totally bad and not agreeing with his bombings and killings he did... I believe he was the victim of 3 years of soul breaking interrogation study he participated in Berkeley. I agree with his ideology. It is more truth of today’s society. This person wrote that back in 69/70’s and now has more validity. Anyone read what he wrote in his manifesto?

That is highly disgusting to our Punjabi and Sikh culture. Our culture will never justify and will see this as a sick culture; whether they are norm at other cultures.

Totally ridiculous thread. My suggestion would be to get married in a church or court marriage. Skip Anand Karaj if not too keen of our pious traditions.

Isn’t it too naive by saying having picture hanging is idol worship. I mean all of us has some photo hanging in our homes of family, parents, grandparents etc etc.. That does not mean we are doing idol workshop of them. Having a temple made or prayer around picture is idol worship but not just plain image hanging on walls for remembrance. we gotta be smart and stop attacking each other and must stand together.

True. Some involve with sewa with dubious mindset on mission of converting sangat to become their customers for example; real estate, lawyers, accountants etc..

As we grow, we experience society evils everyday (grow each day). With Gurdwara management type of folks, most are born and raised in India and experienced high caliber of corruption, cheat, dishonesty and they end up with distrust attitude. People change after the interaction with certain type of folks. If someone stiffed them over money for an example, he/she will end up trusting less in other fellow humans. Above is why our Guru jee said that no matter what, live a truthful life.

Ready books by Bhai Randhir Singh ji and then come to the conclusion by yourself. You will not be able to get an instant gratification answer here. Google age instant answers are always wrong and one cannot know the others by reading few opinions here or there. Self research if serious to learn. Read his books, put quotes of him for further discussion here otherwise you won't learn anything.

Singh or kaur, one does not get any pain or any type of uncomfortability for doing gurbani/naam simran and so on.. There must be some other conditions related to your health. Get a checkup.
