  1. A very prominent individual doing significant good work in North America once spoke of his 'conversation with God'. He wrote of the interview he had before he came into this world. I would be happy to write the full interview, but for now, it was primarily as such. God asked: What do you wish to accomplish in the world? He said: Since there is so much suffering in the world, I wish to help the world heal (he was born shortly after WWII after the deaths of multiple millions and holocausts). God said: To do so will place a heavy burden upon you. He said: I accept such a burden God said: So let it be, and I have the perfect family for you. You will be born of this father. He will be a drunk, and he will abandon you very early on in life. This way you will learn how to be strong and face adversity at a young age. You will be born of this mother, who will be strong and steadfast, and be the unity that holds you and your siblings together. Your father will not have much part to play in your life so that you can do the work that you come into earth to accomplish. He said: So let it be And thus, he was born into the world as a cellular particle that was nurtured in a loving mother. He was abandoned by his father, and he was seperated from his mother and brothers at a young age and put into an adoption home. Through the grace and strength of his mother would be be reunited with his family years later. But the lessons he learned, allowed him to become one of the most prominent spiritual leaders of North America today, helping so many millions of people to come out of suffering, lending aid to the orphans of Africa, and so much more. The question you need to ask yourself is what conversation did you have with God before you came into this earth, what is the purpose that you are meant to fulfill?
  2. The only prophecy that can be confirmed is the one that is the story of the Pipal Tree. For if it still exists in Punjab it can be seen... The Tenth Master, Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his Sikhs were travelling south. There was, on the way, a village by the name of saheva. As they neared the village, they came to a grove of Jand trees. Here the Sikhs asked the Guru if this might be a good place to stop and rest. The Guru agreed and they made their camp. After the camp was set up, the Guru told his men to go and look for a Pipal tree (fig tree). They replied, "But Sir, the Pipal treedoesn't grow in this region, for it is very arid here and the Pipal tree grows where there is water. "Go and look" replied the Guru. The Sikhs went out to search for the Pipal tree but returned without success. "Go and look again" said the Guru. One Sikh climbed to the top of the highest Jand tree to look in all directions, but still he saw no Pipal tree. Climbing down from the tree he told the Guru that although he could not see a Pipal tree growing anywhere around the camp, there was a tiny sapling of a Pipal tree growing in the roots of the big Jand tree. On seeing the sapling, the Master spoke thus: "This sapling will grow into a mighty tree. When it overshadows the parent Jand tree and overwhelms it, that is the time for the Order of the Khalsa to grow in large numbers. They shall achieve recognition in the direction and the countires of the West. Then the flag of True Religion shall be implanted there. The Sikhs shall become sovereign in the Sikh homelands and then become the decision makers." On hearing this the Sikhs made a deep obeisance and said, "Glory be to the Guru and the True Master." In 1862, whent he British were in India, Sir Attar Singh, the chief of Bahadur sent this prophecy of Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to Queen Victoria in England. That the Queen took the prophecy seriously there is no doubt, for she asked the royal scientists what the rate of growth of the Pipal tree was known to be. When they told her that it would be 100-150 years until the Pipal tree overshadowed the parent tree, she breathed a sigh of relief. In 1957 or thereabouts, it was reported that the Pipal tree was equal in height to the parent Jand tree. Based on this, we can expect some significant events to take place in the next few decades that will cause this prophecy of the Guru to be fullfilled! The above is taken from THE VOICE OF TRUTH (Sach Di Avaaj) Vol. 1 No. 1 & 2 which is publiched by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa Garh Malaysia. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- Do You Know? * Within the pages of Sikh history, it is recorded prophecy of sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji that there shall one day be 960,000,000 Pure Ones who shall rise up in the West and shall guide this earth. sahib Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji meditated facing the West because he had said that the rule of the Khalsa would come from that direction. And in one of his Hukan Namas, Sri Guru Hargobind Ji says that those in the West will become Khalsa. Sahib Sri Guru Singh ji had a white hawk which had a very special job. In those days, enemy forces used messanger pigeons to send messages between Delhi and Lahore. The white hawk was so gentle that it could go after a pigeon and bring it down without hurting it in any way. This was important because once a pigeon loses even a feather out of a wing, it is noticeable. Once down, the message the pigeon carried was read and put back, and the bird was allowed to fly away again and the enemy never suspected a thing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- The following sermon was recorded by Bhai Mani Singh in Bhagat Ratnavali and by Kavi santokh singh in Suraj Prakash. "To be a Sikh is to grow steadily in spiritual expereince like a tree. humility forms the root of Sikh Dharm. Without it this faith dwindles and dies in the soul of man. Service of humility should be deemed the branches of this tree, while charity is its shade. When one associates with holy men for enriching oneself, then the leaves and buds of Sikh Dharm emerge from it. To understand the divine Word is to acquire the fruit of Sikh Dharm. He truly is a Sikh whose inward life leads to the understanding that the Atma (Soul) is the reality, while the material world is transient.
  3. Interestingly there has been a research paper highlighting the problems that genocide and torture survivor's face, including physical, pscyhological, social, mental and personal health. Much of this goes underreported and is unknown. Unfortunately...
  4. unfortunately this aspect is almost entirely HISstory. It was common to provide Amrit to many of the masses without them realizing its purpose. I know elders now who are actually quite strict with their practice, and always have been, but never understood it fully until now. Also, stupidstitions and illogical thinking is ingrained in previous generations, don't know why however. For the most part, hisstory will remain exactly that.
  5. What does this really mean? Who is influenced by this, who will it affect? What purpose does it serve? Why are peoples opinions what they are?
  6. Surprised the amount of indifference, and difference over such things. Curious what is the purpose?
  7. Firstly its not under several forums under different names. Its on three forums. And is there a problem with posting it on more than one forum? thanks Not at all, don't take offence to my statement, I was curious because it keeps bringing up deja vu, I can't remember if this is an old post that was responded to or a new one  Hopefully you will find what you like and not take offense ;-)

    Nitnem Help

My top tips for completing Amrit Vela: - Get lot's of natural light into the house as early as possible, if not possible use a dedicated room with light. * Why? Because light stimulates the pineal gland in the forehead leveling out the hormone melatonin and other hormones to begin alertness - Upon waking Stretch and move arms and body, reaching to sky and breathe deeply and slowly *NO why? Because this movement stimulates the Reticular Activating System which is responsible for physical arousal - Take, yes take a luke cold shower *Wha!!y Because it stimulates vasoconstriction of blood vessels and when out, is like a slingshot effect stimulating enhanced blood flow to perhipery minor tips now: - Complete Nitnem with Sangat, it will force you mentally to stimulate greater release of epinephine and norepinephring - Use a 5.1 Surround sound system to listen to the Shabad Gurbani and read or speak aloud with it. The sound resonance will definitely stimulate alertness, although be careful not to make it to loud as the ears will tonically adapt... - Other things include conscious breathing pattern, positioning of eyes towards the 3rd eye position, movement of the body creating breaks, and most importantly the night before turn off the lights at 8pm, stimulate that natural melatonin to enhance your sleep the night before!
  11. I don't understand, why is this same post being posted on several forum's under different pseudonym's, what is the deelio?
  12. The research suggest otherwise, visit my site for the facts, the truth, and to get away from the white lies that are crammed in media and medical rungs... Could you please let us know here what you mean... All I have found on your forum is about the way Caffiene is not linked to dehydration - which is not the topic.. I'm really interested in this matter Revolutionary, do realise I am not taking pot shots at medical's, just trying to wean out the so called 'expert opinions' coming down from the world of pharmaceutical monopolists, and getting to the real Truth that will take entire Medical profession on its heels in coming century... I am still updating site, so will post soon, but for now... From: Am J of Clin Nut, Sept (2004) American Diabetes Association 63rd Scientific Session. Men who drink six or more cups of coffee a day were less than half as likely to develop diabetes compared with nondrinkers. Drinking four to six cups helps too. It reduced the risk by 29%. Women who consume four cups or more a day also reduced their risk of developing the disease by about 30%. But in their case, six cups did not seem to be any more protective than four cups. Tea, on the other hand, had no impact on diabetes risk, the study showed. Decaf coffee was associated with a modest reduction in risk for those who drank four cups or more a day. But those results were not controlled for the amount of regular coffee that was consumed. The researchers then looked at total caffeine intake from coffee, colas, and other foods and found that it too appeared to protect against the development of diabetes. Men and women in the highest quintile of caffeine intake were 22% and 30% less likely to develop diabetes, respectively, compared with those in the lowest quintile.

    Im Having Doubts

thatguy, we are all on the same journey, also realize that Sikhi is not concerned with the concept of sin. Your thoughts are like all our thoughts, the mind is designed to do that. THe question is how much are you Aware, and how much is your God-consciousness guiding you? Perhaps your conscious is guiding you, but be privy to understand that your conscious will be conditioned by various things including peers, tv, news, media, parents. Your conscious is conditioned just like Pavlov's dogs based on the signals that you are receiving. It is likely that you have developed a minute awareness of your subconscious. The subconscious like the conscious can also be conditioned. However, the subconscious is unique because it can be elevated instantly with meditation. During meditation your conscious mind can be dabbling and babbling to no end, yet the subconscious is being cleansed without your knowing? Why do we know this, we know this not only through the message given unto us, but also through research. Our body cleanses itself, and our brainwave patterns change influencing our body and ultimately the signals it receives. Hopefully you will let go of your doubts and discover some inspiration, perhaps with the Sikhnet Youth film festival, perhaps with getting your health together, perhaps taking up a sport or volunteering. If you are not doing any of these things, you need to ask yourself what you are doing, because if so your mind is taking over your life...

  17. God protect us, give us freedom, attach us to the hem of your robe...
  18. This begs the question as to why we are not spending our time doing service for the community, studying, exercising for our health, and volunteering? :2singh2:
  19. Interesting how the power of a few words can resonate into the universe with such piercing action... We should be careful what words we choose for if we do not choose wisely it will seperate us, we should write poetry and message of Love, Compassion and Inspiration, perhaps in that way we will all unite humanity... I do not attend Anti-war rallies, but I will consider a Peace Rally I do not see war and poverty, but what I see is the Guru in all of his distressing disguises.. May all unite under one them, that there is One God and Thy Name is Truth

    Horoscopes?

A scientific, logical, ethical, and spiritually guided mind has no faith in superstitions. However, human culture due to the egoic dysfunction of the mind, relates to such pathological concepts. Superstitions create anxiety, fear, and misplaced hope in the place of reasoning, logic and critical thinking. Unfortunately the practice of superstition exists in human culture since many ages. As a result cultural ideologies usually have managed to condition the 'non-critical' mind of the individuals who have succumb to such beliefs. However, it is a boon not to criticize individuals who act in this way, because they will often react with anger and delusional outburst convincing you that your ill fate lies with some superficial event. There are many places in Gurbani that such practice has been denounced, because it corrupts the mind and the individual as well as those around them. THis is the nature of the egoic mind. What is ego? Ego is Edging God Out. The nature of the mind is that the ego likes to survive on primitive thinking. A simple search shows the following clues towards such practice: har bisarath sehasaa dhukh biaapai || Forgetting the Lord, superstition and sorrow shall overtake you. - Ang 190 maan moh khoeae gur bharam || The Guru has dispelled pride, emotional attachment and superstition. - Ang 196 Here we clearly see that if we do not Edge God Out (with ego) that the mind is dispelled of these negative attachments that burden humanity. Superstition also exists in modern societies, look towards hollywood and media today, there is evidence of odd and false beliefs. I will not criticize any religion, but there is apparent superstition and allusion in many individual's who attempt to monopolize the experience of God. bhram kee kooee thrisanaa ras pa(n)kaj ath theekhyan moh kee faas || Superstition is the well, thirst for pleasure is the mud, and emotional attachment is the noose, so tight around your neck. - Ang 204 rog bharam bhaedh man dhoojaa || The mind is diseased with doubt, superstition and duality. - Ang 416 Again we see clearly, that it is the Dysfunction of the mind that such things seep into and create duality. Just as bacteria can infect the body if we continue to consume rot, we will be in a dual state of illness and recovery, but never in a state of optimum health. paakha(n)dd bharam oupaav kar thhaakae ridh a(n)thar maaeiaa maaeiaa || Practicing hypocrisy and superstition, people have grown weary of the effort, but still, deep within their hearts, they yearn for Maya, Maya - Ang 1178 outham madhhim jaathee(n) jinasee bharam bhavai sa(n)saar || High and low, social class and status - the world wanders lost in superstition. - Ang 1243 Again we see that people, without critical judgement on any particular individual or group, are lost in discovery of the Lord by following superstition's. mithhiaa bharam bharam bahu bhramiaa lubadhho puthr kalathr moh preeth || In false doubt and superstition, people wander all around, lured by love and emotional attachment to their children and families. - Ang 1295 We see as well that much superstition is created in the duality of existence. We must keep families, but we must believe that their care is in line with the Source of the Universe. Not in line with our thoughts that such and such will create positive health. We must also follow the best research and make educated and critical decisions. guramukh sukh fal paar outhaaraa ||8|| The Gurmukhs who reject all superstitions enjoy happiness with their Lord and get across the world-ocean.(8) - Bhai Gurdass Ang 5 Finally, we see that rejection of such practices allows us to create peace and happiness within the mind, Trusting in the Creative potential of the Lord we can cross the world ocean. Hopefully from a scientific, critical, and spiritual reasoned place you will see that superstition's will lead one astray from True Purposeful living...

    Marriage

Why do people have such troubles with marriage or no marriage? Has anyone the courage to leave it in God's hands?
