  1. Vahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa Vahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh Can anyone help me, im interested in buying a tabla, from the UK , from the sangat or from the net. But i thinking i might as well get a good one if im gonna keep it, or should i get any one , until i learn and actually understand more about it, im at a very basic stage at the min please guide SAT NAM
  2. if guru ji was here in human saroop, then people would understand, currently no one fears guru ji, or seems to repect guru ji. The Sat Guru doesnt need us, it is 'us' humans who need him, if anyone feels he or she doesnt need him then thats ok, leave sikhi alone and stop pretending to be sikhs. we need him!!!!!!!! when a sikh wants to get married he does so in the presence of Guru Ji, as per marayada, only a sikh follows the gurus marayada. the couple want the blessings, the kirpa, etc . If you are not practicing sikhi and the guru was here in humn saroop, the guru would say to you (forgive me,but to prove a point, something long these lines), 'why do you come to me?' 'if you do not follow and have faith in the 5 kakkar, or try to follow the spirital path, or walk the path of the khalsa, then why come to me to get married, this aint a ritual or somat u gota do cos ur parents done it?' the guru is forever forgiving and always blesses those who call for his help, but why hav an anand karaj, if you aint plannin on followin the sikh path or aint bothered about attaining salvation. the guru in human saroop may tell you to come back with 5 kakar or when you learn what life is about.................. this is just to help ppl see the argument about non sikhs getin wed in a gurudwara, becos i feel they see guru ji as a book and dont understand the true meaning.............. i personally think if the couple want to become sikhs and are planning to follow gurus hukam and except guru ji as the sat guru then fair enough, but i have witnessed many marriages wher couples have cut hair, and eat meat , and clean shaven and do mamat things and look forward to the party and not understand why you do anand karaj, or what is represents, this is essential for us, its our guru ji, not a book, it would have been different if guru ji was in human saroop, and guru ji is no less here now than before....... apologises, cos i dont know much and will hav made mistakes, dont trust what i say, read the guru granth sahib ji, and marayadas and listen to katha on the issue
  3. zero tolerance seems good, but i have a feeling many will come into this catagory
  4. Guru Gobind Singh is our leader, he made his sikh a saint and a warrior, a khalsa is a leader in his own right, we have to become leaders and uphold sikhi, not let hatred, ego come in the way. we shouldnt b waiting for leaders, we should be becoming them ourselves.
  5. dont argue with him, infact dont even talk about it, if h cuts his hair, just talk about gurbani sikhi and things like that, and how simran is good for you. trust me thers no point.......................some indians have had a full organised propaganda by the government which brain washed them , their parents, and maybe generations to come, some who were in the midst of the violence will never forget. if u feel that u have a duty to make him aware, quite rightly too, then go onto them sites with him and let him watch the videos with you. there are many sites, sikh genocide .com is good too .........dont feel u gota convert him just make him aware
  6. yup its true you know ... everyone in birmingham walks around with cans of petrol and axes ... its the latest trend man! you cant be seen without it! fool are you still waiting (and hoping by the sound sof it) for some big epic mahabharat? well relax yourself, this stuff been going on for years, people been fighting and kicking the cr** out of each other for years. just becuase it has reached the forum this month, or because you have just found out about it, doesn't mean it is gettin any worse then it has been for the last 10-15 years. if anything, things are much calmer now then they used to be. and yes in the past many sikh boys did get beaten for being sikh, i.e. turbans knocked off, sisters abused in front of them, the gurus insulted in front of them etc etc. in some areas the whole sikh youth was and in some areas is terrorised by these so called muslims. if you aint seen this, then maybe your the lucky one, but for many people this is the reality they live with. the article is nothing new. what does he say that is so fantastic? he says that if people wish to convert that they should be allowed to. yes we all agree and have done in the past. He seems to suggest that the marriage in a gurdwara should be between 2 sikhs. yes most of us agree and have done in the past. he says people got angry over a so called muslim marryin a sikh but dont seem to mind hindus marrying in gurdwara's. sorry but most people do mind and want to see a stop to both. he says there is no such thing as forced/groomed conversions... well depends on where your from and how your brought up. bullying and intimidation and the prospect of this hell ending if you convert and join the bullys can be tempting. and this is NOT conversin via choice but conversion by force (force does not neccesarily mean a sword to the neck as it was done 200 years ago .. times move on and so do tactics). in so many words he says that ONLY sikhs should marry sikhs in gurdwaras, again whats so refreshing about that? he says we shouldnt promte hatred ... yeh we know that so whats so refreshing about that? oooo it wouldnt be anything to do with the fact that its a 'white' sikh is it?? ask people who live in areas affected by this how life is? when the so called 'muslims' touch up the sikh girls in front of the boys and say 'what are you going to do about it'? when the girls look for help but the boys are scared to help, what do you do then? prem and co, these are real life scenarios that people deal with daily. let me ask you wonderful sikhs, what do you do then? do you fight and risk pathing the streets of birmingham with blood? do you risk a back lash?? or do you carry on with ur head down and the 'muslims' throw stuff at ur turban and slap it till it comes off? i gave a previous example which nobody bothered commenting on ... a boy was being bullied by muslims at his college who would make him touch their feet. this boy had a dastar etc. he would be made to give them money and then touch their feet in front of everyone. tell me what do you do? do you think they were laughing at him ... nope, they were saying look at these pathetic (i use that word rather then the words they used) we OWN THEM, we RUN them. etc etc. from what i understand this problem was dealt with. now Prem and co, tell me what would you do? perhaps hug them and maybe even pass them ur sister for them to enjoy? hatred is one thing, relalising and facing upto the truth is another thing. it may be a fine line for some people, but for others its a reality they cannot escape. If you have any doubt visit certain areas of east london, manchester, bradford, birmingham and luton and find out for yourselves. i would love to see the 'man in blue' having dialouge with some of these 'muslims' . see how long he would last before they were dragging him across the street. face facts, life aint pretty. alot of the touching up etc, that happens is in night clubs, bars etc, when everyones gettin drunk and dancing to noise. These girls are not sikhs, and that is no where to be if you are one. If you want to be a sikh, then the guru will protect your honour and dignity. Most of us forget what khalsa is about, the Bibiyan who are Gursikhs dont let this happen to them, they know and underdstand the power of the guru.. And if this happens infront of a man, then he cannot be a sikh if he does not stop it and uphold the priciples of Guru Gobind Singh, and i urge these people to tell police, and schools and colleges, the more its recognised as a problem the more we as a public can be aware, if its taken into our own hands then all that can be seen its a few fanatics on each side fighting. alot of people dont have faith and the spiritual guidance, and should seek this, and know that we live in akaal purakhs hukam which is perfection at its most. Until we dont live like sikh we will see these attacks and see no option, but when you have a gursikhi jeevan you see the beauty of creation and these problems are nothing but morakhs running around getting tangled up in worly problems. We hve a father who is the King of Kings, lets get to know him a bit and see the wonders inlife, lets not think that the power of khalsa was only to be seen in sakhis, in Gurus time, or only in 1984, there are chardikala sikhs living in this world now in the midst of everything, the grace of god has no limits, let tap into it..... Your talking sense, but theres idiots on both sides to blame, who instigigate and inflame the situations, but i think you should practice your sikhi, and do path more often, then at least the guru will guide you before you throw petrol on someone in the midst of your rage........................., the man in blue is also right in what he says too, not becos of his colour, but cos its in the paper and i cant hear anyone else talking about it
  7. how did it goooooo????!!! lets have some pics please!!!!
  8. yea i used ma mp3, no one can do anything, i got strange looks :umm: when suddenly i started singing kirtan, cos it was on loud and i didnt realise everyone cud hear ....
  9. lollll i rekon its too small, at least wrap the saroop in a ramala, i wouldnt feel so hurt if they made the saroop the size of an aerage size book, notebook, so its readable and ur able to look after it easily, its uncomfortably small ,but that cud be me. i agree that the soldiers may want to take guru ji with them, but guru is with us all the time, it says in gurbani, also im sure i saw some pics of sikhs in the world wars carrying what would be a normal size saroop, that was so amazing i wish i had it to show u guys. despite what i say, we should give the usmost repect to the King of Kings, the greatest saviour we can ever have, especially in these times.........
  10. you are right you are confused. nam japna isnt done for one thing, im sure sangat on here will help you, best thing isto search for an answer from gursikhs they will help you
  11. the link for 'sikhs are not taliban' isnt workin , anyone know or have that leaflet???????????? please let me know by pm, or post on here soon , thanks
  12. alot of u will spend time worrying about the future of sikhi, we should try to leave it to the guru, and have a little more faith in him. and we should ask for sarbat da bhalla in our ardas and worry more about our own life. sikhi will florish and siks will live in chardi kala, but will we be one of them sikhs is how much we sort out life out, not the colective sikhs lives. not aiming at anyone, but i am sick of hearing people talk about the future and the negative things and how there are so many problems, im not saying they are wrong, but, we should understand that we are not here to stay, this life is like a day on earth compared to the journey most of us have made. the guru has told us that 960 million we shall be and that the khalsa will hve raaj, so what is all the huff puff about............................? we cant judge ppl, some places the older people are right and their knowledge is very good and they keeprehit and inspire young ppl,.in other places young british born (american or canadian etc) have learnt via internet, katha, sangat, gurudwara, kirtan, etc etc and their knowledge has far excelled the older generations, some are good some are bad, we cant put a tag on the problem, each person is different , god made each person with his or her identity, our lives cannot be put into groups.............. bhul chuk marf, if im wrong then im sorry
  13. all im gna say after reading thru these posts is that those who are arguing over this are not acting like sikhs...................
  14. dont judge anyone.......... regardless or religious or spiritual progress or lack of it
  15. sikhs are actually uniting more n more, the commitee problems are being highlighted like iv never known before, the beadbi problems are being highlighted, more n more youth and older sikhs seem to be reacting to the problems n realising it is in our hands to sort it out..... i think things are actually on the up , recently , since 1984........ does no one have faith in the guru, or akaal purakh, whos fauj are we? why dont all the brothersn sisters realise that it aint about the curent issue, or the problems in the panth, lets sort our jeevans out.............................one benti i have is that, when we can say we are the gursikhs of guru gobind singh and we have the kamai of like the shaaheeds in our history, then ask these questions, dont worry so much about LITTLE things like whats happening, n all the enemies, n problems. just remember our father has spoken that khalsa will rule............... and he said it will rule when we are in rehit................ we shall not be intimidated, and we shall not falter its gods army who is getting prepared.............. what we need is nimrita , pyaar and that will all other thingsin a gursikh jeevan we shal strive n thrive............. so stop arguing all you fanatic pajis who are gona lead the way, and wake us up...............and make us realise how important you are
  16. you are right he was not the begotten son of god i do disagree with this intervention of mans ego in the christian religion, and you are right, that, no has to die on behalf of anyones sins, but the veiws go both ways and lot has been said on this topic. the sacrifice of jesus was part of a divine plan and God has often sent 'saviours' we as humans cant really explain HIS ways anyway, but Isaiah's prophecy mentions the suffering which was to come to Jesus. If people needed context the sacrifice could be seen as something like that of shaheeds in sikhi , where a sacrifice is made to protect the rights/lives /freedom of people, , of course this can be exagerated and i understand how this is contraversial, i also agree with the fact that he was a spiritual teacher/prophet and his words are true, as are of all bramgianis..............it is quite disapointing to see how far religion can get distorted from its primary principles. Sikhi mentions alot about saints and we really need to research into it before we can really use it to prove points, so i cannot disagree with you, and i do understand that the truth is in the Guru Granth Sahb. Perhaps i could learn from you, because i dont know anything. But in the age of aqarius, religions and dogma will not prevail, in this age only the sikh way of living can help redeem us........
  17. not going into facts , he did exist and he did sacrifice himself for the sins that were commited in the world. but some texts have been distorted over time so you just gota keep it in mind
  18. just think of everything as gods hukam, everything that happens is becos he wanted it that way................this is regardless of wether you take action or not.............. we should take action responsibly and whatever the consequence that results from it, should be seen as hukam, and His hukam is so perfect. leaving things to god is sometimes a good idea, sometimes its just an excuse, the choice we make is what is important.......... its difficult to explain, i am not worthy to explain, but we should read gurbani and we should study sikhi and jap naam, that way gian comes to you and these things can be understood.and only by kirpa can we understand
  19. Thank you to everyone who done the photo taking seva.............. the pics on the telford khalsa site are awesome and its good to see all the sangat. next year we should all take a step and do something to make it bigger and better...........
  20. yea wat was the symbol before? the goray changed sikhi alot, so i wouldnt doubt the fact they wud hav changed this too
  21. Fateh penji it was also my firt ever time, and it really did open my eyes more, and i was blessed also with the darshan of chardikala sikhs and it was just udescribable,..................i think i wil never miss it again and urge more ppl to be there, i think we shud bear in mind what its all about, the screen was a good idea , it was relly touching watching the videos............ well done everyone who made it
  22. i need quick help ppl where and how do i pay congestion charges, cos someone said ill hav top pay them to get into london, do i pay it through a poll thing or is it sent to the car owner or sumat? qand any other suggestions on parking locations for the day?
  23. lol what a joke i cant even be bothered to reply to that crap lol the argument for khalistan has no leg to stand on (the country) all i no is majority of the panth isnt for khalistan but only like ten people are, even ask the gorey sikhs for their views for khalistan they will laugh and think na not for the khalsa panth.... what is the diffrence of u hardcore fanatic khalistanis to the jews and the palestinians fighting for land but i no 1 thing maharaj made the khalsa diffrnt to all or these puppets, instead if fighting for land we should focus on our familys and friends who are drifting from sikhi and our girls getn converted, but no ulot decide to fight for ur virtual state on the net and all talk, what will become of our gurdwarey in india? can we afford any more religious shrines lost huh and most of all ulot giv it 10 on the net and at hyde park but what are ulot actually doing? lol what a joke may vaheguru bless u narrow minded fanatics and make u realise vahegurus naam is most important, i mean i no u fantaics would rather listen to khalistani jagowale songs rather than do ur nitnem lol well done the truth hurts ulot so carry on dwelling on the past and go against guru jis hukam END OF :TH: GURFATEH have you asked them? you will fnd that they know more about this than you can imagine, and they know whose raaj it will be and they will most likley lead us to the front lines.......... from your attitude i can see you do not do nitnem at all........... i can vouch for it 100% , you do no nitnem. if you are physically doing it then you need to understand what you are readng, becos your mind is not concentrating and you are not paying attention during ur nitnem , you might need to learn more and speak to singhs and listen to katha so that u get the benifit of your nitnem. and do some naam simran becos you are also not doing that, there is no nimrita in you, and so you mustnt b doing simran properly either. you are in no position to slander anyone ......... may guru do kirpa on you first and then the fanatics
