  1. Very very sad that this happends. Tells you where bhatti got her 'bezti' idea from... lol Whether one wants to practise Sikhi or not is ones' choice. One should practise Sikh out of fear that some people with huge turbans will appear and beat the **** out of you. That is not SIkhi. If you want to follow Sikhi - fine. If not - leave it. It's not like Nihangs arn't high on bhang most of the time anyway.
  2. I apologize if I offended you in any way. My avastha isn't higher in any way. From Special jatha, I misunderstood that you meant some 'famous' jatha. My avastha is nowhere compared to yours. Thanks for informing Sangat. Bhull Chukk maaf Karni jee
  3. Define a 'special' jatha. Are you there to listen to special 'jathas' or to listne to Guru-ka-kirtan. Does anything not sung by a well known jatha not define as Guru-Ka-Kirtan? Also, a question: Why are you using capital letters?
  4. What's your proof? Please read Amritpal Singh's analysis, or provide proof for thta statement. I doubt it's the toilet issue, as thta can happen with the kachera too ..lol
  5. Japman Singh, yes you are right. It is the same Sukha Singh, who was very controversial due to his pictures from the SS camp. A picture says nothing. Listen to his Katha. Amazing chap
  6. Bhaji, If you keep on reading te responses, Bhai Manvir Singh Ji responds to that statement - As Bhaji mentions, as far as I'm aware there is no truth whatsoever in Bhai Daya Singh Ji's head being chopped off for not obeying Rehit. That is not according to the way of the Guru, of severing heads of those who don't follow Sikhi. The only time Bhai Daya Singh Ji had his head chopped of was during Vaisakhi 1699.
  7. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Veer jeeyo, this would mean that we would sortly after start doign Parkash of Gutkey Sahibs too. In that case we should be taking HUkamnama and doign Parkash/Sukhasan of each and every Gutka you have in your house. There is a significanse of the whole saroop as compared to Gutkey Sahibs and Senchiya. And what about if you only have one of of two Senchiya?. How do you do Parkash of several senchiya? Sukhasan/Parkash are only for the readers advantage. The Guru doesn't care the least if you have an extra smooth rumalla below the normal silky one. 'Mera pyo', is above all the physical. My Guru doesn't need those pillows. They are all there for a practicle puhe Extra smooth rumalla below the normal one is so that the angs don't rip - agian practicle purpose. I don't think we should make Sukhasan and Parkash as some rituals. Because they are not rituals. Parkash is doen in the morning, so that anyone who wants to read and learn from the 'pandar' (treasure of knowledge) can do so during the day. During the evenign Sukhasan is done is order to get the saroop into 'resting position' (i.e. NOT SLEEPING, but as in where the saroop and the binding of the saroop will not be damaged as quickly if it is SHUT when no-one is reading from it). Agian this is all practicallity and not some rituals we should start doing. I do not see anything wrong with the Panth Parvan Rehit Maryada (which btw has nothing to do with the SGPC, which is only responsible for publishing it) in this matter... Bhull Chukk maaf
  8. As long as they don't contain the original Gurmukhi, and only contains treanslations, it should be fine. How else are non-Sikhs going to learn about our faith, if we do not share our 'bapu jee' ?
  9. Nice post Namastang. I never really thought about that quote in that context. Thanks once again
  10. it's a funny old world...anythings possible. maybe the murderers thought they'd get away with it...and not spend 20/30 yrs in prison. nothing's far fetched! well where are u getting YOUR information from??? that wud be interesting to know. remember ur information isnt first hand....its secondary info heard from maybe...'a friends, friends, friend'??? arent ur statments and views based on hearsay? 159967[/snapback] Before entering into this discussion, I suggest you actually look at the trend of the way Sikh militants work. For tha I suggest you read books by anthropologist which analyse the way these militants think, respond and act. Anthropologist that have analyzed and actually made the effort to interview scors of militants includes Cynthia Mahmood Kepply, Joyce Pettigrew etc. Most militants who are out to get revenge, usually don't care about themselves. Again to believe that they would EXPECT to get away with it, after such a high-profile murder, is again extremely far-feteched, especially when considering the fact that it occured in Britain, and that it was Sikh militants who made the move. Now, I admit, in this case my information isn't first hand, but from what I do know is that they followed him for 6 months and listened to his sermons before they acted. That is typical Sikh militant behaviour. I did not know about it before this thread was created, upon which I started researching about them. Their sacrifise is indeed typical Sikh militant beahviour, if they did follow them for 6 months and listen before acting. I did not express my views previously about them, because I did not know about it before. Their sacrifice was indeed ideal, since they carefully chose their target, and didn't want to risk killing an innocent. Read the books by the above mentioned and you will see how the militants planned and followed their target for a long time. As has been mentioned, if their intention was to get away, they could eaasily have choosen antoher place at another time, but they chose to do it inside a school, a high-school, infront of everyone. Not in some corner. Infront of everyone. So far, I have tried keeping a calm and mature tone in this discussion thread. If I have not managed to do so, I apologize, however I still stand firm on my statement that one looses credibility when one joins a discussion forum, and starts asking people one doens't agree with to 'keep quite'. Very suspicious indeed. I have not ones restricted him from expressing his views, as a matter of fact I encourage him/her to do so, however he has failed to do so, and insteads asks everyone to 'keep quite' and watch 'aastha TV', failing to address the issues raised on the board. I have tried to keep a friendly tone, and again apologize if I have failed to do so, however I do not think it is acceptable for a person to join a discussion board, not address the actual issues, and instead demand peopel to 'keep quite'. You talk about my tone, but completely fail to notice the rude behaviour of 'Das Kirpa' There is a credibility and intention issue here. We are now diverging from the original thread topic, and I feel that this is purposly done as a way of distracting a calm and mature discussion from taking place. Bhull Chukk Maaf
  11. You have failed to addressed the issues I raised. Could you please answer in a Yes or No, if you conider him as an incanrate (or a Guru) after Guru Nanak Dev Ji? Yes or No. Don't ask me yo watch asstha, since we are on a discussion board and I am asking one of his chellas right now. I don't mind watching asstha some other time, however you have failed to address the issues. Yes or No Please. Also, on what basis/measurement /'kasvatti' are you saying that he has said nothing wrong? Are you basing that on your opinion(which isn't veyer neutral, being one of his followers) Please address the issues instead of diverting from them. Bhull Chuk maaf
  12. Who is 'Bauji' Japnam Singh? I personally don't enjoy AKJ style, since I think Simran should relax you, and be soothing and slow, but if AKJ simran makes you happy, and gives your internal peace - go for it... In my opinion, Kirtan on the other hand, should ideally be done solely in the Raag perscribded by the Guru.
  13. 'Das Kirpa' You join this forum, after the creation of this thread questioning your 'guru'. How credible do you think you sound when you join a Sikh forum, in a rude tone, asking others to keep quite. I'm not sure whether you are familiar with the concept of a 'discussion board'. It seems like you seemed to miss that part, and unless you have anything valueble to add, I suggest you stay out of this discussion  You have again and again been asked if you claim Darshan Das to be the incarnate of Guru Nanak, and whether he has ever critisized our Tenth Master. I do not care what is shown on 'Aastha Tv' since you have failed to respond to the above claim. Unless you can deny that such a remark (about our Gurus) has ever been made, Whatever is said on 'Aastha TV' is completly irrelevant (Out of curisity, isn't this the 'Asthaa TV' that coincidentially started with their yoga classes at the exact same time as most radio stations do Hukamnamey di Katha? Sounds suspicious....) Bhull Chukk Maaf
  14. Singh Comradz is right. he dind't post a question, he made a statement. THey followed him for 6 months!!! And listened to what he said, and THEN shot him. They are not mentally unstable that they would go around shooting people left and right just because they think someone is something and go into jail for 20 resp 30 years of thei life Think about it. Do you seriously think they would have shot someone on the basis of 'someone saying that he says something that some people don't like', or do you tihnk they actually listened for 6 months, making sure that those 20 resp 30 years in jail are actually worth it. They sacrifised 20 resp 30 years of their LIFE to shoot someone. I doubt they'd do that on hearsay. Too much of a far-fetched theory. Any other theory Misskaur?
  15. I don't see what the issue is. It is clear that militant SIkhs havn't been involved in shooting innocent religious leaders in the 80's-90's, and don't see why they would now. The Link in my previous post sheds some light on why they might have decided to get rid of him. You have completly ignored that.
  16. This thread really sums up everything discussed here - http://www.sikh-history.com/cgi-bin/Ultima...c;f=10;t=000508 So what I understand here is that, just like the Nirankari Baba, Darshan Das, was responsible for slandering my Tenth Guru, and claiming to be an incarnate of My first Guru (pretty confusing, since both were one) This reminds me of the Nirankari Baba, who was shot subsequently. Most Sikhs support him being shot. Not because he was a bad human being, but because he was slandering, and creating schism is society, something, it seems like, Darshan Das too was responsible of doing. How can any follower of Darshan Das (claiming to be an incarnate of My Guru) be called a Sikh? Followers of Darshan Dassi, joining this forum to protect their 'guru' seem to be quite interesting..
  17. How dare you even say that? Akal Thakhat is the instution founded by my Guru. It's like calling a shastr Corrupt. It's when wrong people start using it, or abusing it that it seems corrupt. Never dare to call an institution created by our Guru which has been responsible for agitation against the British inferenance in Gurdwaras, Emergency, Dharm Yudh Morcha, Agitation against Nirakari baba. NEVER DARE TO SAY THAT AGAIN I suggest you go and do ardaas and apologize for even thinking in that way, Shame on us.
  18. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji ki Fateh Dear MissKaur, Thank you for your prompt response. 1 - If you go by the concept of 'innocent until proven guilty' (which is ideally howit should be), but can you find hard-core proof of naxilites and Punjab Police being involved in the Movement to malign militant Sikhs? I doubt so. You can read and listen to what Militant SIkhs have to say, but you will not find much 'neutral' references proving that. Many victims have reported it. is there any official proof? Absolutely not. 2- I agree audio is fundamental, but since it wasn't very common at the time, I very much doubt there is anything such. One question tha arises is - why would they kill him if they had nothing to do with Sikhism? Are you trying to say they were 'mad nutter around to kill innocent people, like islamistic militants'? Because if that's the connection you are trying to make, it to me, dones't make a lot of sense, to be honest, having researched and read alot of interviews (and personally interviewed) several Militant Sikhs. They are very different I concur completly, but I don't see any reason why someone would decide to shoot a person spreading a peaceful and loving message. We don't see militants goign around shooting the naamdhari 'guru', do we? They could, I'm sure they'd have the resources to do so. Wouldn't be too difficult. Why don't they? naamdharis have attracted many Sikh followers, so why don't they? I refuse to believe they decided to shoot him and get a life-time imprisonment because he decided to start a new faith. Very much doubt that. 1 - I completely concur that evidence is crucial. I'm sure a search on tribuneindia will give you loads of results. Just make a search on google and you'll probably find quite a few things. 2 - Having had researched quite a lot about militants, I have found extremely few cases where they might have shot some religious leader, unless they were a direct harm to the Sikh community and were openly tlaking bad about Sikhi, the Guru etc (Nirankari, and perhaps Lala Jagat Narain who wasn'ta religious leader) It would be an extremely odd thing for a militant SIkh to shoot someone who has nothing to do with Sikhs. Would just be something one of those typically wouldn't do. I will ahve to do more research into this before I respond next time  Bhull chukk maaf
  19. Bhai Gurdas Ji Diya Vaara [absolutly amazing] Sikh Rehit Maryada
  20. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji ki Fateh Misskaur, Sikhs are indeed, very different from Islamic terrorists, and so are Sikh militants. A true Sikh martyr is one who has abandoned his ego, and only a such person can obtain 'nirvan' 'sachkhand' 'jyoti jyot ralee' whatever you want to call it. Just because someone goes shooting someone will not make them liberated. The concept of saint-soldier is unique to Sikhi, and no other religion shares it. That's one of the elements tha makes it totally unique. You are a saint, worshiping and revering the terenal, yet you stand up for the truth and do not allow any wordly person oppress you. A saint swil never allow a person to oppress/rape another him, nor anyone else. A true saint soldier will do whatever to stop it. Whether tha means he dies or not (which doesn't mean he becomes liberated) I agree, but does this mean that anyone else is free to slander our faith as much as they want? Read the Arya Samaj bible, half of it is ful of critique agianst other religions. Read the Inrakari bible, full of hateful remarks about the Sikh Gurus. Don't know too much abot Darshan diye, but think that they to have made snide comments and have disrespected our GURU. The GURU who we revere as our spiritual guide. I not not know much about Darshan Dasiye, nor about his assissins, on the other hand if they resemble those of Gurbachan of the Nirankaris (whose death most SIkhs did not grieve over), I'm not sure I've got much to say. Islamic militants are very different from Sikh militants, since most Sikh militants refrain from touching innocents. Islamic militants don't. This is not a comment on Islam, but on islamic militants. Sikh militancy is very different, where you don't go capturing and targeting random people on the street. Bhull chukk maaf
  21. Times, Days, And Names of tuitors would be muh appreciated
  22. I agree completly with Fat Albert. As long as you keep your kes unshorn, and in a respectable manner, there should be no problem. As Fat Albert mentioned tying dhari is a must ins certain cirumstances. I would rather tye my dhari than having ti stick into a machine shaving it off completly. Tying dhari can be fundamental in certain circumstances. If you feel more confortable with a dhari that is tied - good on you - you will benifit more on having ti tied, if you feel more proud of you Sikhi Saroop that way If you feel more confortable (includes me) having a free flowing dhari, and makes you feel more proud of your Sikh saroop - go for it. Let's not eat up each other just because we disagree. With everyone going around yelling at people who tie their dhari, a lot of people ahve started shaving it, due to practicality and due to self esteem. Let's respect each toher, and lok beyond if someone wants to tie their dhari or having ti free flowing. Let's respect each toher no matter what. Is it that hard? If we can't even love and respect each other because the other person ties his beard - how are we goign to reach the stage of BHai Kanaiya Jee and see Vaheguru within all? How can we see Vaheguru within an enimy, if we cant see Vaheguru within a fellow Sikh tying his dhari. God we are really going somewhere we shouldn't be. Bhull chukk maaf
  23. Vaheguru, Balbir Singh, You come to this forum. Critisize everything and everyone act like you're God in human form. Begin insulting this that have a deep significance in the Sikh ethos, yet you expect everyone to be patient and listen to your riddles and follow your circles? First you go to Tapoban and try spreading your views. After failing to get attention you come to Sikhsangat to restart you mission. 'BalbirJi' (as you callyourself on your website), you have your website with your views stated. Ironically you call a Guru Ka Sikh, a follower of the Guru, Gurbani as 'a member if a cult, not Sikhi'. I suggest you to stay calm, and add as much content on your cyber dera (your website) you wnat, and allow people interested in your views to follow them. This is a Panthic website and most members are not interested in your views. Stop coming here and disrespecting respected members of this forum. Please. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  24. I agree baby oil is the best gets you dhari glowing and your face flowing I used to use gel, but its too goo-ey, and makes your dhari hard (perhaps thats the point ) No but seriously, baby oil is really nice
