  1. Nothing to be sorry about, it made me who i am today, i very rarely fought back, there was no point, on the occasion i did it was because someone either a) touched my Gutti or b) said derogatory things about Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Look, racism exist everywhere, it's not limited to whites on browns, some apne I've met over the years are so racist that it disgusts me, as far as letting them have their say, we should, otherwise it drives it all underground . Example, people like Tommy Robinson are straight up racist in my view, but we need to give him air time, yes you'll get a few people following him, and yes, that's a dangerous thing but we have to reach a point of extreme's before we realize our mistakes.
  2. A White girl in school saying that stuff isn't racism, it's just and un-educated opinion, racism is when you used to have to run home from school because the local skinheads didn't look at your religion but at the colour of you skin, so you'd be running with all the other brown kids, be they Sikh, Hindu, Muslim or Black. I grew up in the 80's and suffered plenty of racism, some of it physical, kid's today are too quick to call out what they think is racist, ask some of those of us that grew up in the 70's/80's what racism was.
  3. I don't think it's about loyalty, your motherland is the country you were born in, if you were born in the UK, that's your motherland, it's not just there to give youu jobs or better treatment, your stuck with it. In the event of war, i'd choose neither, the only winners in war are those who get rich off the backs of it not those who fight for what they've been told is right.
  4. Each to their own fella, we all view the world with a different lens and that changes what we put value on.
  5. How are you still debating this, okay, if the person in question was the ideal example of the religion and they decided to stop believing or convert, then, yes, i could understand people of that religion getting annoyed but in this case you have a guy, who barely followed his religion in the first place publicly admitting it.
  6. I would continue debating this with you but i won't, at the end of the day, some people believe in a higher power, other's don't, we are not here to judge other's, just ourselves, if you put value on idle and nonsensical news like this that's your right, but other's, like me, don't.
  7. You can argue all you like, you'd be wrong, someones religion is their own personal business, if they follow it or not, if you feel this stuff is more important that all the wrong's that go on in the world then you really need to take a long look at your priorities.
  8. I'm sorry, it isn't (news), for him to turn his back on his religion first one must assume he had faith in his religion in the first place, which, going by his actions, he didn't, i'm sure there's slightly more important thing's going on in the world.
  9. To put it politely, does anyone give a monkey's.
  10. I'd be asking where the local community and the Gurdwara's were, "Sikh" Charities can only do so much, they are a charity reliant on donations, the purpose of the Gurdwara is partially to help people in need but they were probably too busy spending all that "committee" money.
  11. Maybe you should try and do a little soul searching and figure out why you weren't getting any rishte, oh wait, maybe it's because you have a mindset where you'll more than happily air your dirty laundry on a public forum where the main topics of conversation circle around Sikhi. Having read all your post's all i can say is don't get married, not to this girl or any girl until you pull you head out of your rear end and grow up.
  12. Having looked at this woman's YouTube channel i think she has other issues, also, why would you film a video of yourself playing on a laptop and put that up, why not just put up the original video, is this a new thing i've missed. As far as what she's going on about, ain't got a clue, i gave up after 2 minutes, people need to get to the point, ain't nobody got time to hear someone waffle on about something that has no relevance to anything and serves as nothing more than an ego boost for their self importance.
  13. I honestly don't know how to reply to what you've just said, i find it both offensive and laughable. Look, Sikhi has never been about conversion nor is a numbers game, clearly Islam is, otherwise you wouldn't get people in every major city trying to convert you over to the "one true religion". Ticking a box on a form, being born into a Sikh family, going to the Gurdwara every Sunday doesn't make you a Sikh, it's all your actions outside of that, going on internet forums and degrading others by pointing fingers at them and laying blame on them as to why the "panth is dwindling", if i'm the reason the panth is dwindling then you need to step outside sometime and have a look at what's happening in our Gurdwara's where the people who are running it are more interested in fleecing money or publicly drawing swords in the darbar sahib than bringing youngster's into the fold.
  14. I'm not really versed or educated in all the shaheeds and mahapuraks represented in these photos on the boards but to be honest, it's a huge embarrassment and we should all be ashamed of ourselves, we call ourselves sikhs yet behave worse than some Star Plus drama, so much for Etka.
  15. You do know he's a comedian right, his names Guz Khan, he rip's into his own religion and culture pretty much all the time.
  16. I find this way of thinking fascinating, it ponders questions like would those negative things have happened anyway, regardless of someone lighting a diva or not and we're looking for something to blame when something negative happens (which is human nature). I'm not trying to discount someone's belief nor am i saying these things don't exist, it's just that we need to start questioning them, lighting a diva at a kooh(well) is interesting, to me it's less superstitious and more just common sense, put some light somewhere so people travelling at night don't fall into it. Out lives need to be as simple as possible, there's no reason you can't show respect for these places but if you follow the path of Sikhi you need to keep that in the forefront of your mind at all times.
  17. Woah, woah, hold on, you can't just say stuff like this and leave it, i must know more, was is a real tiger costume or was he dressed like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh.
  18. He has plenty of products, have a look here: https://www.guruprasadam.com/ Might order some of that Aquacool toothpaste, looks legit, especially considering they don't list the ingredients, worth the risk i think, but on a serious note, this have been going on for ages now, i'm surprised no one clocked onto it, get expensive being a modern day nakli baba, man's got bill's to pay.
  19. My point is whatever you think you may know, a little respect goes a long way, i'm not saying what you've been told is true or false, i'm saying have some regard for the feeling's of the family at this difficult time.
  20. Whatever the background to this terrible situation, there's a time and a place, a family have just lost there child, this is neither the time nor the place to post up thing's you've heard from someone, put yourself in the shoes of this guy's family, would you want to go online and read people you don't know second guessing what happened to their child, show some restraint and a little more respect fella.
  21. I've already mentioned it, there's a load of singer's that do that, it's nothing new, to make the turban the sole property of those who don't cut their hair stinks of pure arrogance, if someone put's a pagh on their head and has cut hair, maybe, just maybe they might connect with it and decide to keep their kesh. Maybe we should look a little closer to home at what happens in our Gurdwara's and committees, these guys actually represent Sikhi, some of the stuff that goes on makes singers like Diljit look like saints.
  22. On the whole caste related music stuff i completely agree but as far back as i can remember Punjabi music has had the whole "Jatt" this and "Jatt" that thing going, it's nothing new, there's no need for it but there are much worse than him, have you heard the stuff Sidhu Moose Wala has come out with. There is a conflict with Diljit Dosanjh though, he is a Punjabi Music artist but he also does release a fair amount of religious songs, i respect the guy for what he does and what he has achieved but to me, he's lying to himself by tying a dastaar and having cut his hair, but that's his burden to bear,
  23. He runs a charity in India called The Saanjh Foundation which helps children who have no parents amongst others. He just finished his UK stadium tour, he sold out three arena's, no other Indian/Asian/Punjabi artist has ever done that, i'd hardly call him a little wannabe rap star, the guy is at the top of his game, simple as. Whatever you personal opinion of the guy, he's made it up the ranks from having nothing to everything, what the guy wears is his own business, it seems like a pretty petty reason to throw hate on someone. The guys far from perfect but having met him a few times (and knowing the guy that represents him in the UK) there is one thing i'll say about the guy, no matter what you think of his outward appearance he's probably one of the most humble people you will ever meet. As far as the mohna part, it's pretty common knowledge in Punjab, there's a far few singers who tie a pagh in public but have cut hair, nothing new, no idea why people get surprised by this, it's disappointing yes, but hey, that's life, if you don't like the guy don't listen to his music simple as.
  24. Didn't even realise Leicester had a punjabi mela, where was it in Leicester.
