  1. Remember that you are carrying shastar as well. Shastar as also used to kill during war. If it comes to proper rehat, then also look at how Hajoor Sahib keeps rehat with shastar. Also when it coems to rehit, do not look at any jathebandis, only true khalsa forces/fauja
  2. maybe if you call it sikhi instead, we should not be promoting the term sikhism which is a colonial definition. We should use the proper term as sikhi.
  3. and also, as your next post alludes to, naamdharis also take khanday dee pahul, and actually most of them do compared to "us" mainstream sikhs. naamdharis are also much closer to rehit than some of these jathabandis we have now corrupt the panth since colonial times. However naamdharis are missing the kshatriya rehit of khalsa, ie the warrior maryada. I think a lot of "sikh" children would easily get influenced by christian schools due to lack of sikhi knowledge, and this includes those who go to these schools in India as well Yes, Khalsa sikhs used to learn from other sikh sampradaiye as well when it came to spiritual gyaan and sikhi knowledge. Obviously for learning there are no strict rules, however other rules are different for khalsa sikhs as they need to follow the military rules as well compared to sehajdhari "civilian" sikhs. And this is funny, but would learning from a harmonium teacher harm your sikhi, as it takes you away from learning sikh/Gurus' instruments? I would find it harmful for someone to teach that crazy keertan which plays at many rehnsbhais, ??
  4. Just checked out Ramgharia gurdwara Slough and went to a Raag Keertan session. so they definitely do classes there on Sundays at 12pm.
  5. I think you should try Southall Singh Sabha, unsure if Havelock or Park Avenue gurdwara does it. I am sure Ramgharia Southall does Raj Academy raag classes on weekends as I read it on raj academy website. I think Slough Ramgharia gurdwara does it as well. Please find out more and post information as I really want to start raag classes as well, it is shocking the lack of raag keertan played even in the main gurdwaras! lol Raag insturments at Guru Maneyo Granth? You must be joking. I think most of their keertan is not even close to raag, and all I seen them play is harmonium. I think some keertan jathas that play there play normal keertan like other gurdwaras.

    you should follow grihast dharam
  7. yes the Kenya sikh women always had a bad rep when they came UK, they were known for cutting their hair when indian sikh women were still not at the time! Also I used to see a lot more east africa sikh girls showing their lattan in pics like a decade ago than british indian sikh girls. Times have changes in even a decade, the british indian sikh girls have also started doing the same things the kenya aunties and their daughters were known for. oh dear everyones' intelligence has departed due to glassy. What Guru Nanak says in bani is true!!!
  8. Yes I don't understand, if they are talking about sikhi then why is not possible for them to dress in a respectful manner? What kind of sikh becomes so much of a sheep that they need to follow a society and have to reveal their legs just because everyone else needs to? And yet the men don't need to reveal their legs, so where's the equality? Women still falling in sheep mentality yet thinking they are equal, yet being exploited. I still want to find out how LGBTQA+ sikhs deal with the 5 vikaar, the panj chor. I would love them to do a topic about this.... probably the drunk ones, especially where both the husband and wife are drunks.
  9. absolutely!!! I also saw one jathebandi and it's founder were keen on using the new colonial khanda symbol and wearing on their turbans as well, that jathebandi is well known for doing rehnsbai
  10. move into Canada, don't go to USA the healthcare there is extortion!
  11. lol that was a wrestling entertainment promo like Indian version of WWE
  12. probably earlier on in british raaj?
  13. alot of milk donated to uk gurdwaras is from non-organic gurdwaras, where the cows are more or less abused. Unsure about ghee, probably the same?
  14. no it's actually about teaching children sanskar, and they continue the behaviour to adulthood!
  15. If you cannot reach a gurdwara, you can instead do ardaas to shastar as well. Remember as a Singh, shastar is also our pir and we do matha tek to shashatr.
  16. how is it bujjar kurahit? THIS, please read this bani!
  17. If amrit dharis followed maryada, they would eat a health diet. instead they only follow "their" maryada, or the vague SGPC one. I don't think every non-amrit dhari wears kara, not even all keshdharis.
  18. The fact is the benti chaupai is still not completed properly even before getting to Arril. It's only a few lines including Kripa karee.. ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਹਮ ਪਰ ਜਗਮਾਤਾ . Seems some kind of mischief which some colonial era sikhs believed in and added into SGPC rehit maryada! I am pretty sure some groups and jathebandis were allergic to shabad such as Jagmata in colonial times. This is why Benti Chaupai is abruptly ended, without finishing a few more lines. I don't see any respect in this, it is some weird kind of paranoid beadbi.
  19. read the history of what it was like British Raaj in muslim majority areas in Punjab. There's history involving Kartar Singh Jhabbar. Also I wonder what would have happened during partition? I think there would have been the same battles no matter which side we stayed on. Look at Action day and the terrorism committed by Muslim League in Punjab before partition days.
  20. shouldn't an amrit dhari join a Dal anyway for their training in how to be amrit dhari (which is missing from many amrit dharis now) I don't think a Sant dera has the correct training for amrit dhri as opposed to a dal or Shauni which does.
  21. so we need to tackle if head-on. At the moment, most of the sikh community doesn't seem comfortable with calling hates as haters, instead we are just watching things slowly. When it's people from outside the community, whether it be white racists, or islamic groomers, we seem to stand up aggressively. But when it's our own community, we seem to just try and let things slide as the hatred seems to be transmitted to further generations. I would say the anti-Singh feeling has at least reached grandchildren generation now. But since even the lost sehajdhari sangat still seems to be using Gurdwara at least for ceremonies, we can still bring them back even by this small thread. As they are still connected to Guru in a minimal way, we can still bring them back to respect the community. Also some organisations like university sikh societites, Basics of Sikhi, Nanak Naam and others seem to bringing some sikhs back and sometimes these sikhs even take khanda dee pahul. I been seeing amrit-dharis doing this dating mentality as well. 2nd best or whatever is for dating mentaility peoples, trying to do grihast with ex partners, not good
