    By "times" I mean in terms of material war assets. Not in a spiritual/mental way. I may be entirely wrong, but I believe if we were still a primarily cavalry force, our haal today would be worse than what it was. We would have been probably routed in the late 18th century or early 19th century, and been how the Natives are today. However, this post of yours bro I can agree with. We had a great chance to really do something in that era, but ultimately the faults of Maharaja Ranjit Singh prevailed over his talents.

    I can agree with much of that. You're right. But, I think the most untrustworthy turned out to be locals of Hindu and Sikh faiths. The blame should solely there, besides Maharaja Ranjit Singh completely f**cking up who would be his successor. Unless I am completely unaware of a trend of our mercenaries also betraying us to the British.

    I mean what was the alternative? We would have likely stayed in the jungles and died in the jungles. Look what the Brits did to proud, rebellious, one dimensional fighting force of Native Indians. We were just as one dimensional of a fighting force before. No, not my answer. You've still in no way shown how the hired Europeans contributed to the downfall. I've got my issues with how things were run. But, those Europeans did indeed help Punjab/Sikhs get with the times.

    But, could you explain how they contributed to the downfall? One could argue if it wasn't for their assisting in the army modernizing, Sikhs would have had no chance against the British. They would have likely also moved in much sooner if we were still a simple musket and sword cavalry.

    I believe Jaggi does come from a family that has Khalistan ties. Their involvement and his incredible work with the website put him on the radar. I assume he probably just thought the intelligence agencies weren't as knowledgeable as they are. Regardless of any involvement on his end, the fact he is not given a fair trial and is tortured should be enough for UK govt to step in.

These people have done 100x more seva than you. What about the Singhs that get parole for months at a time? Or the activists who have never been arrested, all cats? I fully agree Jaggi should be released, but that is the biggest khalistan related case right now BY FAR, none of the men associated with it are going to be given an even iota of leniency/fairness. You'd probably be one of the folks calling Baba Manochahal a cat in in 90s. "All the other Singhs are dead, why not him! Why did he want to contest elections!"

    Unless these folks are calling down media themselves, it's hard to classify this as a PR stunt. Most of us are likely from UK and Canada, the situation is different in USA. The Sikhs there can use all the positive attention they can get. I will agree there is a lot of work to be done in Punjab, and deserves more focus. But, are we as individuals doing anything about that? Or is it just complaining that others are not. We should all donate to SOPW, Ensaaf, and YourSeva.

    Where did you "hear that"? Yes, he engaged in drinking and sex with multiple women. But, his character was not one to put on a show like that in public. He was by all accounts a more quiet, reserved, simple person. One of the greatest military generals out of Punjab.

After a few years of exposure to some of the negative elements within us, he is jaded and angry. Plus, people who only pose problems but no attempts to come up with solutions should be avoided. They're negative and want you on their level.

    Surinder Singh has done time and immense seva for Sikhs. He has never backed down from exposing Indian/Punjabi governments lies. He is very easy to contact, perhaps you could inquire with him how he got to USA, before making such accusations. This is what killed the movement before, you'd figure we would learn from our mistakes, but no. Also, Navtej and Harchand are free, as are other panthic Sikhs, are they all also cats?
