  1. We can’t compare to Jews as according to Goras, they are “God’s chosen people”, whereas no Hindus say we are “God’s chosen people”.
  2. The best thing we can do is increase numbers, being only 2% of a population in the country we are most populated is not seen as a serious threat. I know a lot of people are “quality over quantity”, but in democracy, numbers are all that matters.
  3. I’ve heard this before, but never saw anywhere in Maryada or Rehatnama where this is written.
  4. If our “leaders” are simps for either Pakistan, India, or the Western countries, why would anyone respect us? I don’t imagine Baba Deep Singh Ji or Bhai Mani Singh Ji would ever be asking the Mughal government or Abdali’s government for help on anything or for rights/justice for Sikhs. Also logically speaking we don’t have that much resources in Punjab or a significant amount of importance to outsiders to be relevant enough for them to assist us. (We can’t compare our Punjab to Israel as for the Evangelical Christians Israel is supposed to be assisted because of something from the Bible). Ultimately, everyone we are seeking help from would rather want us to be gone.
  5. True too many people compare the great Satguru to a book like the Bible or Quran. If their neech is this low, no wonder they are going to Pakhandi Babas to find spiritual gifts.
  6. The British Raj was a dark era for the Panth, and that still effects our psyche to this day, (SGPC, giving Dyer siropa, Sikhs dying for causes that only benefited imperialism and dying for simply being brown on the mainland). The only thing we’ve been able to successfully do is remove Hindu Mahants for Mahants with Pagris and gatra Di Kirpan, (harder to tell the enemy now).
  7. I mean the only group that I know of who’s so attached to their caste that they’d create their own religion are Ravidassia.
  8. Where I’m from, there’s no caste-based Gurdwaras.
  9. If you still think of yourself as Jatt and associate with your caste, you’re manmukh mate.
  10. He's a wise man, but isn't actually spiritual. The people who are both holy and politically power are rare, and if you have Modi's backing no way.
  11. Why anyone would be Sikh for money is beyond me, considering we don’t have any actual political power. They were given Amrit as babies or something?
  12. Honestly nobody knows. India still keeps the Akal Takht Jathedar in jail, despite it being almost 6-7 years, so Jaggi being a less higher-status Banda, we just don’t know.
  13. I don’t believe Muhammad wrote either the Quran or the Haddiths. The Muslims themselves claim he was illiterate.
  14. If you sell someone else’s daughter, you are evil, if you sell you’re own daughter you are deranged. (I didn’t watch the video, so idk if that’s what actually happened).
  15. Is the reverse the same though? Like if a Sikh male marries a non-Sikh woman? I don't think it always is, unless the non-Sikh partner eventually moves towards Sikhi.
  16. Realistically speaking though, those who are more open to “interfaith” marriage are usually less devout on average than those who are not willing to marry interfaith.
  17. I watched a few Punjabi movies where they literally take Gurbani out of context to justify their putte kum. Example: “Jin Prem Kiyo” line being used to justify physical relationships outside of marriage. If we are going to make those decisions in our lives, we should admit weakness in ourselves rather than justify it through Gurbani.
  18. I'd say we Sikhs over-celebrate Diwali to the point we don't understand the meaning. When Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji beadbi happens; how anyone can be celebrating the Guru coming back to the Panth is beyond me.
  19. That is true if we are talking about breaking the "inner" Amrit; but for the "external" Amrit I think that breaks when we do a bhujer Kurehit. Bhul Chuk Maaf Karni.
  20. If we brought Singh’s back from the past to see what we have now, they’d think we are following a different religion. Back then there was most likely less of a view on religious fundamentalism, and more of a leniency towards keeping the Panth protected for the future even if they had to do something’s which we view as contrary to Gurmat today. (Like if a Muslim woman would want to become Sikh they’d have to be buried alive and verbally denounce Islam, or if a Muslim man wanted to take Amrit, the Singh’s would force him to eat pork from a wild boar. The Old generation of Sikhs despite being willing to stand-up for justice for all people were always suspicious of non-Sikh influences. Today we have the opposite, Apne are more talk and wanting appreciation from outsiders, while doing nothing substantial.
  21. I think a lot of what keeps the more "moderate" Muslims from leaving is that the punishment for apostasy in Islam is death. Otherwise it would be more similar to how Hindus and Christians are secularizing in mass. Either that or they join some more liberal sects like Sufisim.
  22. Ideally, we'd do Paaht in the "correct" time, but if that's not possible do it whenever it's possible for you do to your nitnem bani.
