  1. sikhs should avoid caffeine anywyas, its a type of drug that ur body can get addicted to.... caffeine = no good
  2. dont worry about ppl, u come to this earth alone, ur gonna leave this earth alone... the more u worry about ppl the more dissapointed ur gonna be...
  3. actually many ppl through our history have done paath for others and had their ardases for others heard.... in ardas why do we say SARBAT DA BHALLA? isnt that ardas for the world... not just ourselves? so that in itself shows u c an do paath and ardas for others... also dont u know that sakhi where the bibi who had a high avastha was walking and she saw a suffering animal and she did ardas for her to get out of pain, once she did ardas she felt as if she lost something, the animal got better but her avastha dropped because she 'gave it away' to the animal. guru ji than explained to her why this happened. and although u need to do paath with ur whole heart and mind in it, u are fooling urself if u think u can do that over nite.... the way to get to that stage is to work up to it, to build ur concentration and dedication.... how do u do this? you set goals eg. today i will do 5 japji sahibs, 2moromw i will do 10 jap ji sahibs... today i wil do naam simran with full conecntration for 10 min, 2morow i will for 20 min.... u have to set number goals in order to improve.... until u have any sort of avastha built up counting paaths is very useful... this will eventually enable u to do paath with full concentration... but if u thin u cna get full concentration for a full jap ji sahib, where u contemplate every single tuk and meditate on it and put it in ur heart, say it with ur mouth, and absorb it with ur ears just like that,, ur kidding urself...
  4. He's right... that is the sakhi behind the shabad... A lot of Shabads in SGGS JI, have sakhis behind them, of our Guru's own experiences and the lessons they gave there Sikhs from those experiences... the basic meaning of that shabad ... 'u got blood on ur shirt and u say its dirty,, but when u put that same blood inside u (eat it), ur insides not dirty? '
  5. my mom makes them (not for harmandhar sahib), for local gurdwara... so maybe some local sangat there do the sewa also
  6. whats the point of taking amrit, if your afraid of black magic.... if black magic is more powerful than bani, than we should have took amrit from black magic... but gurmantar, mool mantar is the most powerful mantar.... so sikhs have nothing to worry about...
  7. Can you please clarify the above? I've never heard it before. 113997[/snapback] 'Eh Hai Mor Agaya, Suno eh pyaarai, Bina Tegh, Kesh(ang), deyo na deedarai' Its a hukam from Guru Gobind Singh Ji... If you listen to Atam Ras Keertan they do a shabad on it... Im sure someone can post the whole hukam
  8. lol... KHALSA SIKH ? khalsa is khalsa.... a sikh is a khalsa... how can u differtiate the 2? if someone cuts there hair but are trying to improve to one day take amrit... than they are a working towards becoming a sikh... someone who took amrit is a SIKH.... i like how gorai do it... they say im a 'practicing christian', or a 'non-practicing christian', or a 'born again christian'.... anyways, if someone cuts their hair and says im a sikh... whos sikh are they??? they arent a SIKH of GURU JI because they disobeyed one of the most important hukams... (shouldnt ignore any hukam, there all from guru ji, all are important)... GURU GOBIND SINGH JI SAID HIMSELF DONT COME TO ME WITHOUT YOUR SHASTER AND KESH I WONT GIVE U MY DARSHAN...(so if you cut your hair and you call yourself a SIKH... think whose SIKH are you ???

  10. You said Bibian wearing dastaars is a recent thing???? do some research man... its always been like that, its just the in the last while people have gotten away from it.... You dont think Mai Bhago, wore a dastaar? And you say dastaars dont look good on bibian... thats your own opinion.. its not a fact... you seem really closed minded, u talk about being open minded but you think that your view is how the world views things... look at this tuks from SGGS JI.... 1. Page74 Line 9 Raag Sriraag: Guru Arjan Dev mY gur imil auc dumwlVw ] mai gur mil ouch dhumaalarraa || I met with the Guru, and I have tied a tall, plumed turban. 2. None of the above mention gender... A turban is meant for a SIKH whether a male or female... open your mind, you seem close-minded
  11. WJKK WJKF, if you cut ur hair u cant be a sikh... a sikh isnt something your born into, its something you become... its a way of life.... HAIR IS SO IMPORTANT IT CAN NEVER BE SACRIFICED... why did bhai taru singh give his life not his hair... so many other examples... if it was ok to cut your hair and still be a Sikh, dont you think these thousands and thousands of Sikhs would have done it... instead they gave up their life..... please dont ignore this sacrifice and say its ok to cut your hair.... if standing by the tenets of our faith and revoloving your life arond guru ji is called being a fanatic.. than fanatics are the luckiest people in the world.... it doesnt matter what others think, no one else is going to the next world with us,,, we are going alone... Bibian with facial hair... should they take it of to impress other mortals who are gonna die some day, or should they keep their hair to follow the hukam of our guru's who were 1 with god.... I RATHER IMPRESS WAHEGURU the master of this world and the next.... impressing people in this world is just a temporary thing, it wont mean anything in the end... Gorai and kalai in general have much more respect for a rehitdhari Sikh compared to punjabis... if you tell them about sucham they wont offer you food that they have touched first, they will let you eat it first, if you tell them you dont drink they wont offer you, if u tell them your veggie they wont bring meat near you, if you tell them you rise at amritvela they will respect you......... on the other hand punjabis willl be like your a pakhandi why cant you eat jooth, they will say just drink its all goood, they will say eeat meat where does it say not to - your being a brahman, if you wake uyp amritvela they will role their eyes and say your a fanatic... quiet frankly screw what people think, only person we need to impress is GURU JI, no one in this world will give you anythign, all they will do is take take take... WJKK WJKF
  12. WJKK WJKF... i took a bunch of stuff out of the Sikhi and Science ppt... here it is... The more you read Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the more you will see that everything in Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the absolute truth and that science is still catching up to the knowledge that Guru Granth Sahib ji contains... Sikhi isnt a blind faith, so for sure look into what Guru Ji says, and you will see it is all true... if you test it out for yourself and see just how true Guru Ji is, it will strengthen our faith in Guru Ji and Sikhi... heres some examples of Sikhi and Science below... about Energy... "True Lord created air that formed into water. From water are created all the three worlds, each being bestowed with a Divine-Spark, soul being.[19]" The Big Bang Theory... The answer provided is: “Phase of moon or day is known not to Yogis or the season or month. Only the creator Lord of universal creation knows about it.” Now this is proven by what scientists say... More examples... Planets and Galaxies... Solar System... The 5 Elements (Fire, Water, Air, Land, Life) Evolultion ang935 Life originates from rocks... Sikhi and Science say that life originated from rocks! Unlike most other religions which believe that God directly made Humans! Many scientists would agree with the view of Guru sahib. Creation of Humans.. Unlike the other major religions Sikhi says that Humans are created from the union of the sperm and the egg! Science agrees with Sikhi! ang1014 and 659The human body... The earth is round.. The moon reflects light... The universe is expanding... Extra terrestrials... WJKK WJKF
  13. I agree with that.. the weekday sangat are the more devoted Sikhs... i feel so much anand going in the weekdays... Sunday is more gossipy sangat in my opinion
  14. My little cousin was at the gurdwara once... Hes in grade 5... One of the babas (probly in his late 70's) always does sewa at gurdwara all the time, said to my cuzin come with me and he took him to the washroom and dropped his pants... Cuzin ran out of the washroom and told his dad... Found the baba took him to a back room of the gurdwara, kicked the **** out of him.... than called teh commitee, commitee banned him from every coming to the gurdwara again... than called the babas family, they came to the gurdwara, had a meeting with them... and the family agreed to send him to India because they have young kids at home and its not safe leaving him with kids... so now he been sent to India away from where he can harm anyone (hopefully)
  15. I know lots of people that go gurdwara everysingle day even twice a day.. but minimum once a day... One family I know, they even take the taxi to the gurdwara everyday... they wont miss it EVER.... they say missing sangat for even 1 day will cost us to much.... WE CAN NEVER MISS GURDWARA OR SANGAT.... thats how much importance some gursikhs put in going to gurdwara every single day... from this same family that i know the husband only sleeps like 3 hrs a day... works long hours... but still alwyas makes time... the more of a sacrifice we make for Guru Ji and our Sikhi.... the easier Waheguru will make it on uss to achieve what we are here to achieve..
  16. panj pyarai in toronto say no jewelerry.. so why would u make an expcetion on ur weeding day.. would guru ji be happy with u and give u blessing for breaking hukam of the punj ?
  17. can someone plz summarize the activities of ashutosh ? and what they are preaching...
  18. i kinda disagree... guru ji made that comparison in gurbani, of us being the wife and god the husband because the husband looks out for the wife... in anand karaj the wifes parents give her to the husband... and the husband is suppose to look out for the wife thru thick and thin even if it costs him his life... guys and girls are equal no doubt... the guy ideally is suppose to provide the wife with everything she needs and look out for her, and in return the wife treats the husband with so much respect... so that respect is earned by the actions of the husband.... but if the husband doesnt treat his wife right, than hes not fulfilling his role in the relationship, so he doesnt deserve to be treated like next to god.... but if both husband and wife fulfill their roles i believe the wife will naturally treat her husband like next to god and the husband will provide the wife with everything she wants / needs.... the main role of the mom is to raise a child who is either a SANT , a martyr or a sevak.... and the husbands is to provide for the family... (its in gurbani) i know its harder these days , but everything i wrote above is 'ideals' and how it would ideally be... so ideally the husband would EARN that respect from his wife, but if u dont earn it i dont think u deserve ittt...
  19. wat country are u in.. i got stuff for ontario
