  1. SUNNYBONDSINGH, You have some really nice and inspirational topics. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. This is a really nice topic for people who think nobody embraces Sikhism. Actually, this panth will always be in chardi kalaa. Anyways, my additions to the list are Bhai Mati Das, and Bhai Sati Das during the times of Guru Tej Bahadaur Sahib who were converts to the Sikh religion, and were full fledged Gursikhs who also became Shaheed for refusing to convert to Islam.
  2. Yeah, very good analysis of the similarities. I agree with them. Also, Jatt is more of a race rather than a caste. Just like Rajputs, and others. I may be wrong, but I think this seems accurate. Regardless though, it is really important for Sikhism to not worry about these things. We need to unite in order to flourish the KHALSA.
  3. There probably should be at least one family, or the very least a person in that town/city of Sikh descent. You know the old saying of Khalsa, it is everywhere. You know when they were talking about landing on the moon, Sikhs were already laughing at the people saying you would already find Baba Nanak's footsteps on the moon, there is no need to claim to be the first person on the moon. In all seriousness, good luck in finding Sikhs in that city/town, otherwise you can always drive or bus down to Ottawa Valley, and/or cities with Sikh populations.
  4. GREAT VIDEO! No matter what anyone thinks though, it is without a shadow of a doubt that NON-PUNJABI SIKHS are much more into Sikhism, and are more devout than their Punjabi counterparts. With Guru Sahib's kirpa - Chinese, Black, White & Hispanic people are converting into Sikhism and are doing more parchaar and spreading Sikhism more than the Punjabi Sikhs could ever do. The Punjabi Sikhs cannot even do parchaar to the Punjabi community itself, never mind actually spreading awareness to other parts of the world. DHAN GURU GRANTH SAHIB! With blessings of Guru Granth Sahib, the people are who EMBRACING Sikhism will grow Sikhi to the masses!!!!!
  5. ^ That is really really cool. Thanks for taking the time to post that.
  6. I hope so too, but where did you find that out from? Are you assuming, or you have relatives in Punjab? That's really good if they are, but they better be in the right hands.
  7. This is pretty much the same thread from a month ago, but anyways to answer your question the biggest threat to Sikhism is: THE SIKHS THEMSELVES!!! Nobody ever has a problem with Khalsa traditions, many times it our "own" that discourage the sangat for wearing cholas, stare at Sardars like they saw an alien, don't keep Sikhi Saroop, the ones that keep abuse and make Sikhs look bad, follow in bipran ki reet such as castes, jathas, groups, sects, cults, babas, pankhandis, etc. Wonder why Sikhism is so messed up.
  8. Read the above and think for a bit. You fit that profile more thn Sikh nation. HAHAHA I LOVE YOU BANDA MAN. How have you been brother, long time no see man. Peacemaker, you just proved my point even further. LOLLLLLLLL!
  9. I am not going to repeat what most people said on this topic already, but do realize one thing: Your home gets attacked, and your family members die, and after that tremendous amount of human rights violations occur. I am sure all of you the very least would be mad, never mind actually saying a slogan in front of large gathering. This is the same with Ajaib Singh Bagri. If you have/had/will have any little bit of Sikh love inside you, you will also react the same way. We are not Gurus nor we ever will be, we are humans. PS. Peacemaker, you are at it again aren't you. I am not even going to bother with you. You aren't worth my time.
  10. Just wondering, is it possible you can share the restrictions by any chance Bhai Saab? I am just wondering out of curiosity? Thanks very much.
  11. The day was not bad, just pretty much stayed home that's about it. But, once in a while staying at home can recuperate you for the rest of the week.
  12. Generally speaking, it seems that all the religions under 5 million adherents seem to go through heavy discrimination from all nations around the globe. It's sad, but goes to show you that a religion must do parchar if they truly believe in their religions teaching and practice the way of life. All religions go by the same theory: PLAY NICE. No religion is bad, but as we can see from this century many 'EXTREMISTS/RADICALS have messed things up for their own political gain and fame.
  13. A very good topic by my good brother Banda. I would even like to know whether Bhindranwale said that or not. It would be nice to know his exact words on this specific issue as my brother is asking. However, with that being said I don't think anyone has that answer on this website brother. It would be best as Jaspaul Singh said to listen to his speeches. I will also do the same at my leisure, and will get back to you on it.
  14. Keep lifting weights at the gym - eventually get to the number of pounds I initially am achieving for. Also to do more "SEVA" for the Kaum in anyway possible whether something simple as doing langar de seva to something more complicated.
  15. ^^hmm.. That is not even funny and they call it a joke?? Didn't know people had such weak sense of humor. Anyways, after reading it the only thing that came to my mind was the story posted by LotLS. Here >> http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=32619 I say we set these santabanta.com guys straight. How can that be done?? maybe its just me, but a couple of these might just do the trick: http://www.ak-47.us/Pic/AR-15/AR15vsAK47-002.jpg I don't know if you were joking, brother. Nonetheless, I am with you on that. I am sure everyone here read the article Sarpanch brother posted. The article about Sikhs give ultiamatium of whether the people apologize or they will burn their offices. Unfortunately, sometimes these are the only options available, and I am happy to see these options are being considered again in the Sikh Community. Enough of the sissyness that our community has. Put these guys back where they belong, so next time just like Dal Singh said the very presence of a Sardar should terrify them. :TH:
  16. ^ AN absolutely powerful posts Dal Singh, brother you said something in 5 minutes in which the whole world fails to understand. I 110% agree with everything you said, and I am not joking. I have already said in the past. The Jatts have nothing own them anymore. Like I said before, where did the Kundiyan Muchhan and the and the Sohni Dastaara go of the Jatts? Really beautiful post brother, a post that will hopefully wake people up.
  17. Is there anything that can be done now, Sir? Enlighten us?
  18. ^ Exactly. Well Said brother. If the Biharis stopped coming to Punjab, the economy of Punjab would collapse faster than anyone could say the word hello. Also, they are converting to Sikhism, and following the traditions of Sikhism, much better than people who are born into the religion and take it for granted.
  19. Punjabi music is not what it used to be like say 5 - 10 years ago. Its' all an ego trip now, nothing different than 90% of the hip hop songs that come out now. Real Punjabi music that talks about the land of Punjab, culture, traditions, lifestyle speaks volumes. And no, there is nothing wrong with dancing.
  20. Than, why don't you try and make sense of his posts than? Its' funny how you go around telling everyone their "cyber-giani's" but all you can do is criticize people, but not put in solid contribution. How are you any different?
  21. LOL. Yeah, and I guess your former school speaks for all the schools in all the Christian countries around the world, eh? Seriously man, your posts are filled with ego. Drop that ego of yours and than come on SS and talk, you seem like the typical giani's who go around thinking they know everything in the world and everyone must listen to them. I know you want to impress the sangat by telling them your such a saint, but its' okay not everyone is perfect you know. <_<
  22. Everyone is to blame for this incident. The parents of the children, the children, the committee members, and the sevadars. But, instead of playing the blaming game. It will not bring Guru Granth Sahib back in good condition. It needs to be prevented from the future. HOWEVER, the kids need to be dealt with, and give them such a punishment that will make them think a million times next time. But what Singhavelli said was 100% right, Gurdwaras are not what they used to be anymore. But the same can be said for Sikhi as well. Guru Kirpa Kare!
  23. Christmas has absoutely nothing and I repeat nothing to do with Sikhism. People on Sikh Sangat only want to celebrate Christmas because most of them are living in Christian majority nations, whether culturally or religiously. I don't see Christians celebrating Baisakhi and walking with us in our Nagar Kirtan, expect for the few politicians which are done for political reasons obviously. Babbar Shere, please keep it up brother. You are keeping the Khalsa Spirit alive. :WW: Peacemaker, seriously dude, I have already dealt with you before, and I say it one last time, stop trying to play GOD and telling people what to do, or what to say. You seriously are annoying member on this website. Everytime I read your posts you are either complaining, or telling people what to write. Get a LIFE man, either do your job properly at work, or go get some fresh air for that thick head of yours.
  24. "Peacemaker", you just contradicts yourself there. On one hand, you are saying that I am making a big deal out of nothing and you could not give a "hoot" about it, than you have the nerve to say that you will cry (which you do all the time, actually) on the forum, and if I pay your bills or not. Actually, in case you did not notice you are making a mountain out a mole. This world is built on generalizations, obviously he did not meant every single adherent of that religion, he was asking in general, just like every single Sikh can't be a threat to Sikhi, but obviously you had to act like UN officer and think you are the best officer who can make peace for something that was not even a dispute. You remind of officers in the WEST, who make small issues into huge things and end up innocent people getting arrested, you are no different from those officers. Trying to stir up controversy over no reason. Here is some advice: if you don't like what you see, ignore it. But, stop making people's lives on SikSangat horrible with your moaning and crying like a baby all the time, it really is getting played out now. People have seen you cry a little too much now. Perhaps you can tell you story to people that care.
