i dont think we should tell anyone to stop listening to music as a rule...

once u reach a point, u will stop listening to music urself...

u will understand urself that there is no benefit in listening to anything but gurabani, and that is all u will get enjoyment out of...

if u dont listen to stuff that distract u from the purpose of life, u probly shouldnt, but everyone has to decide for themselves wat will help them with their bhagti..

but if someone is to listen to other music, thats fine, to each their own

yeah, and thas probably why it's not a rule of Sikhi. it was the same way with me..............there came a point in time where I just found Kirtan to be better.........music holds no mehna for me any longer. I let go of sad punjabi songs quite recently, and being a manmukh and a murakh, a have to completely avoid them, else i will get sucked right back in.........still working on it..........
