DHAN SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE

DHAN SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE

DHAN SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE

DHAN SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE

DHAN SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE

.... who is the eternal... ONLY... past, present and future... True 100% Mahapursh and Jathdhar of the Sikh faith.

And whether others come and go remember.. there will always be One. And should there be other "jathedhars" they will only emerge from Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

Does the panth need a Jathedhar. Yep and we alredy have one.

Bhul chuk maaf karna

the reason many want a "leader" is so they can shove all the Panth's problems on his shoulders, and also have a good time blaming him for rising patitpuna...

in essence we want a scapegoat.

no one is going to come and solve our problems the way we are expecting it to happen. the problems are not because we lack leadership. it's because we have forgotten what amritvela meant, what nitnem meant, what reading 25, 50, 100 Japji sahibs per day meant.

naam japo ( and I mean do this in insane proportions to the extent where it becomes 24/7 automatic).

and the irony is, if Sikhs started doing this, then we'd have a leader....darn that's crazy irony!! wacko.gif

waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh

Pyare jio, this is my personal opinion. Nobody actually does seva, Seva is taken from you by Guru Maharaj form time to time, as he sees fit. We kid ourselves if we think we do everything, or everything is in our control. But often we think this, and definately our Gurdwara pardans, and leaders think this.

Everyone today looks up to leaders. Baba Jarnial singh has been mentioned. Others may say Bhai sahib Randhir Singh, Sant Attar Singh Mastuane, Bhagat Puran Singh, Baba kharak singh. Each led Sikhs in Chardi kala, and had amazing jeevans. If today we had any of them, the Panth would be a far better place.

Lets look at them more closely. Baba Jarnail Singh was a completely unknown Singh. When the Jathedari was given to him, most of Taksal was shocked. Many thought Bhai Amrik Singh, son of Baba Kartar Singh would get it. Baba Jarnail was just thought of as a quiet, illiterate Singh who works in the fields. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh was just a law student studing for his exams. Bhagat Puran singh just looked after poor people, and wrote articles. Equally you can look at the others aswell.

The point is, each one was a Great Sikh, but very different, and all had humble beginnings. What was their common denominator? It was seva and bhagti. That is would moulded their minds, and made them Great. So rather than emulating them, by trying to copying their mannerisms, or dress, or attitude, etc. lets just learn from all that we need to do as much bhagti as possible and do ardas, that one day Guru Maharaj makes us worthy of Panth di seva aswell.

Do not search for them, or hope they will return. Instead do bhagti as they did. Do Bhagti as Dhru Prahlad did, and maybe one day some of us will even surpass them. Bhai Rama singh stated, Seva and Simran are like wings of a bird, without either it will go nowhere. But together it will soar.

I do believe our generation will see Great Bhagats, Saint-Soldiers. Ones who will not only shake the Panth, but the whole world. It is just a matter of doing abyass of Bani.

    • Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. Without the Guru, they know not the essence of the Reality, know not the essence of the Reality. Anand Sahib.
    • You're confusing two different things: One is merely adding starch to a turban to get a certain feel to the fabric. The other is tying your turban once and taking it off like a hat. It is this that people have a problem with. What's wrong with it is that Rehit says to tie your turban afresh every time. If you ask, "Where is that written?", it's written in Bhai Nand Lal ji's Rehitnama. @ipledgeblue didn't just make it up. Umm, no, bro. We're not evangelical Christians like President George W Bush of the US claiming to "talk to God" who told him to invade Iraq. "Speaking to him directly" basically ends up being doing whatever you feel like with the excuse that Guru ji told you to do it. If you still want to take your turban off like a hat, feel free to do so, but don't claim that it's Rehit.
    • You don't need to wear either a pag or dumalla in the gym. You can simply wear a meter or 1.5m small turban (gol pagg or round turban). It doesn't come off.
    • The reason you don't see anything wrong with it is because like a fish in water, you grew up in Western culture and imbibed it fully. It's very difficult to for parents to inculcate traditional culture while in the West. The reason there is a problem is because a kiss between a man and wife is a sexual act (I didn't say it's coitus, but it's still sexual.) By contrast a kiss between a mother and a child, for example, is not sexual. And in our culture, sexual acts are not allowed in public. Goras do allow it. And that's also the reason they have gay pride parades now with people walking around naked with children in attendance and so forth.
    • The printer is C J Amritsar… They have given a mobile number for India …
