That;s what we like- 2 immature men fighting on the net on a sikh website and one of them cannot control their language. Let's hope more children visit this site. They too need to know how the sikhs like to speak to one another.

If that question was directed to me then you tell me, are you a sikh?

What does that mean-@$$- if it means a.s.s then may I suggest you understand that if something is going to admin profanity then it's best you don't use that language- follow the rules and don't try to use that language and try to then justify anything.

LOL.gif Would like to see you try. I have been boxing for over 12 years and wrestling for 6years. I could outbox you using just my left arm. I would even let you have free hits for half a minute. If you are such a soorma come to Wincobank.

So has she taken amrit ? There are plenty of daughters of Sindhi Sikhs kidnapped by soola in Karachi, a few cases of Sikh kurria kidnapped by tribals in NWFT in Pakistan. I have never seen you concerned about these cases. You are just publicity seeking and trying to drum up a reputation by claiming you kicked down a door.

You’ve got your bit part, mozart

Pop art, pistol chasin’

Akali_Sodhi,

calm down mate..... its foolish to say too much on net..this is a public forum visited by non-sikhs and many of those hostile to our community... having an e-fight with others on here wont' get you anywhere.

But I agree that something needs to be done.

This is my stance on this issue

1) Any girl from Sikh background who goes out with a muslim guy has to deal with the consequences of her actions, no female over 18 is naive enough to not know how muslim guys operate and how their ideology works.

2)Any girl who is geniunally being haressed and targetted by a muslim guy(s) to convert... then she deserves our support and protection.

I agree with those points. No point playing the Sikh card after doing fera thora with a musla but if they are being harrassed then the matter should be dealt with accordingly by making use of the police etc. We are not in the wild west and all this taking the law into your own hands is utter garbage.

no.gif To the two people arguing, just quit. If you are going to make a point about something can u do it properly without insulting each other. There is no point in saying that one person can beat the other in a boxing match or whatever, the energy in anger created by the two should be aimed at tackling the issue being discussed.

I am new here and did not want to introduce myself in this way.I am from the UK in London, in my twenties and have much knowledege about the issue raised in this post. I really would like to see some evidence though, stuff like this has occured and will continue to occur if we are not pro active. When a muslim girl in southall wanted to marry her sikh boyfriend recently, certain members of her family attributed to her murder, was horrific, however all the circumstances of the story were published in the newspapers and shown on tv, so it would not be unusal for this incident to go unreported.

Here is an update to the story, if you can call it that as it was written on the 10 may.

The article itself:

SHOP WAS ATTACKED BEFORE SHOOTING

09:30 - 10 May 2006

The family of a woman who was shot by a masked gunman in Derby have been attacked before.

Neighbours said that acid has been thrown on cars owned by the family, who run the S &A Self Service Food Store in Balfour Road, Pear Tree, and that the shop also had fireworks put through its letterbox.

Residents have expressed their concerns, although police are not connecting the incidents.

The shooting happened on Monday night when the 27-year-old woman was approached by a man in a balaclava as she was leaving the house next to the shop.

She tried to run back inside, but was shot in the leg.

A piece of lead shot was later removed from her leg at Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, before she was released by the hospital. Neighbour Haroon Nasar (24) said that a family member had tried to chase the gunman.

Mr Nasar added: "The shop has been targeted before. It was burned out at Christmas after someone put fireworks through the letterbox.

"Around the same time, the shop owners' cars had acid thrown on them and that ruined the paint."

The family declined to talk about the shooting although a member of staff at the shop confirmed that it was attacked with fireworks at Christmas.

Police are today continuing their inquiries and have renewed an appeal for witnesses.

A spokesman said: "We're looking into the possibility that a shotgun was used, due to the nature of the wound."

There is no evidence at all that the girl/family are even Sikh. If that turns out to be the case that they are not, then there is some serious questions I have to put forward. grin.gif

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
