Well i must say, a hall... that is low, it should be at least in a clean place.

But i'm torubled by one other thing, why can't women wear dresses? That is sort of biased and discriminatory. If someone wears (modest) clothing, then what's the matter?

Although, I hope the mian thing is: no one in the sangat was sitting higher than the guru granth sahib ji!

What my learned brother Bass is trying to say...

The skirts that women ware are not covering their legs or there modesty correctly. no.gif

When asking people of other faiths to come to events at the gurdwara we must inform them that what is acceptable in the gurudwara. It is the same for men and women, men need to be told of what is acceptable. In the past I have told a man to take off a tie of semi naked lady when he was invited for a wedding in a gurudwara. Also to tell them to cover their hair even Sikh men do not understand that any where in the gurudwara their heads needs to be covered.

The shocking and appalling images of the way Maharaj is being treated should be a wake up call that everyone should be on the look out for money makers in the gurudwara. These people do not see Maharaj as the KING OF KINGS and they will not see any reason for making money of Maharaj, this has happened in the past and it still happens to date.

The youth are not here to cause trouble , however we can not stand by and do nothing when our Guru is being disrespected....no SIKH should be able to look at these image and think there is nothing wrong we them......we need to get this stopped for good!

Forgive me for what I have said and any mistakes I have made.

I am a sinner in a world of saints

I GOT A RELATIVE WHO TOLD ME THERE IS A BAR IN THE GURDWARA HALL. DISGUSTING.

Not surprising. The Sunderland Committee purchased the derelict church next door for some ridiculously low figure and have converted it into a community hall. Question is what is allowed in the "community" hall!??!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/wear/content/articles...y_feature.shtml

Quote from article:

"Use of the former church hall as a community centre, alongside regular school visits, has enabled a strong sense of community spirit to develop.

Buta Singh Sangha, the General Secretary of the Association says: "We are a good success not only on the religious side, we have developed in the community as well."
