On New Years Eve, the Hukunama at my local Gurdwara was a tukh from Bhagat Kabir Ji in which he spoke of nindah and the 'hell' which surrounds its possessor. Before I drive, I 'matha-dek' to Guru Nanak Dev Jis saroop (one which I have in my car) and if that means I have to face the wrath of nindaks like you, then so be it.

But the thing is this all can be done without a picture. This is how idol worship crept into religion. Matha-tek to pictures(not real) should not be encouraged. Thats more of an Hindu thing, thy needed someone to pray to so thy came up with idol worship. SIKHI is not bout givin importance to pictures or idols .. we all should try to stay away from these customs.

Prabhat Pheri is a form of community prayer where the Sikhs in a certain area get up early in the morning (4 am mostly) and start walking from house to house singing Kirtan, and devotional songs together. As they go to each house, the families go on joining the group. The group then continues walking and singing Kirtan till they reach a Gurudwara where the programme ends with prayers and ardas. For a parbhat pheri to come to your house is a great occasion. When they leave, you can join them and go to the next house. Each house that a prabhat pheri visits has a different set-up for the sangat to sit and do kirtan, which in this case is a photo of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Keep in mind, that the parbhat feri does not specifically go to only sikh houses but also hindu houses.
