singhni84
Cocoa and carob powder are not the same, but can be substituted for one another. You can use carob powder in place of cocoa powder in any recipe. I usually add slightly more carob powder in place of the cocoa powder, but slightly less sugar in the recipe then.

Tarrandeep Kaur
carob powder is an alternative to coco powder. coco powder contains caffeine, whilst carob powder doesnt
Singh132
Just a note for the bibekis, carob powder is produced after roasting the pods. If a raw material has been roasted or cooked, it's not really considered bibeki. After seed extraction, the pods are roasted, milled and sieved and then stored in controlled conditions to prevent them becoming hard and lumpy. Carob powder is used in baking and food manufacture. It is naturally sweet so no added sugar varieties are available. Non-dairy carob bars use vegetable fat, soya flour and soya lecithin as an emulsifier.
