aight... kinda late for the reply but i show up in school only on two days well i am most interested in Freud's psycholoanalytic theory

i mean unconscious mind does it go along with gurbani coz i know this for sure tht gurbani can never be reversed on contradicted but wht about the force tht are inside us and we never knew about em as such sexual(kaam)

its hard to fight those forces but a close think about tht wht really make us sometimes slaves of those forces?

is there any corelation between rational analysis and those forces???

i am really confused between these things i mean if i cant know more about those unconscious forces or kaam how could i fight with them

i might be wrong about tht conclusion too but sangat bhul chuk maaaf kare .... all i am tryin to do is jus end a big confusion if theres anyone who would help me in this out?

bhul chuk maaf

'Singh in Wellin' Bhaji is a psychologist

OI Bhaji help him out!!!!!! :TH:

me?!?! a psychologist??!!?? im still doing my GCSE's!!! i dont even knw my left 4m my right!! lol!

nijassa ji i do believe we knw about the forces within up such as kaam krodh etc. but most people tend not to reflect upon their own actions and see if they are controllable or not!!

its like wen u do simran or paat r kirtan all those thoughts come into ur head n ur like asking urself "y are they there??" then u ry to battle with them!! yet if u strugge harder with them forces then they will fight harder. but if u jus let them pass and dont focus n them then they are easier forgotten!!

from wikipedia: Psychology describes and attempts to explain consciousness

yet gurbani tells us how to contol consciousness and make sure it doesnt become destructive but constructive towrds devotion and love!!

also from wikipedia:

Several gurus teach their disciples the importance of surrender to God or to themselves, as part of the guru-disciple relationship. For example, the Sri Sai Satcharita, the biography of the guru/fakir Sai Baba of Shirdi that according to its author was authorized by the guru says that surrender to the guru is the only sadhana.

Another example, Prem Rawat, formerly called Guru Maharaj Ji, was quoted in 1978 as "[.]. But there is nothing to understand! And if there is something to understand, there is only one thing to understand, and that is to surrender!"

this is the psychological viewing towards surrendering urself for the Guru which can be related to sikhi n psychology.

erm.... aight but i think i am greatly influenced by freud and neo freudians cz the thing is that its hard for us to fight against those enemies but its never impossible

my point is tht is it really true tht we have those forces shaping our behavior or mentality

spirituality has its own part coz its important for us to have spirituality but on the other hand wt about those forces

ego as defined by freud is important but can we relate the same ego to "Haume"

i think that Freud didnt had quite pleasent ideas for religion and religious ideas

a lot of it is linked 2 sikhi especially if u do stress for example dey say dat meditating and focussing your mind on 1 thing relives stress i automatically thoght japping namn!

lol with Freud he'll make u laff he comes out with some funny theories! and u'll study sleep which is good. personally i think its a wiked subject you can relate a lot to Sikhi!

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
