You guys wouldn't say that if you knew Papi :umm:
lol now u got me all thinking grin.gif what do you mean by that? :@

tongue.gif

Well let me try and explain what you were saying. Do tell me if i am right.

Papi invited me to his place and Papi's mom had made rajma chol. When the food was being served his mom told us that it was HOT and we should be careful with it. Me being a good kid :) listened to what was said and Papi being a "Bhuka" didn't bother. So Papi gulped a spoonful of rajma chol and burnt his mouth. Now he listens to his mom all the time.

Similar is the story with this bibi. She is distressed cause of her facial hair and nothing seems to be helping her. She will realize how deluded she was once she removes her facial hair.

LOL!!!! HAHAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA...Dude! Listen to what your mommy says ALWAYS!

:@ nice story rolleyes.gif

and yes you hit it right on the dot :TH:

and to add to that, atleast afterwards she'll realize something, cause frankly if all that advice from the previous thread didn't help, what would this new one do? rolleyes.gif if she doesn't want to to keep em, thats her choice.

another way to look at it. if a sikh munda doesn't want to keep his joora, but is keeping it because he is scared that he'll get kicked outta the house if he gets it removed then is he really keeping his hair????

PS shanti, thats was JUST a story rolleyes.gif

I agree wiv u that ppl should be keepin their kesh for the right reasons... but i think its totally wrong that ur tellin this bibi 2 remove her hair. I think she needs support right nw, not the opposite!!! I dnt really no what 2 say 2 the person who posted this, jus that its hukam. tell her not 2 worry about what others think cos ull get nowhere in life if u do that and ur only meant to be tryin 2 please guru jee, the rest of the ppl in this world will come nd go. (also most of them will let ya down, yet guru jee will NEVER let u down) It would be totally wrong 4 her 2 remove ANY hair from her body, tell her 2 be strong. nd probably not 2 listen 2 half the ppl on this forum who r tellin her 2 remove her hair.... disgraceful!

o yeh i forgot, sikhi is all about just keeping your hair eh grin.gif

this tuk fits very well in this situation

another way to look at is, that without preeth for waheguru, hair is nothing, they mean nothing. without preeth if someone is keeping hair then its nothing more than a ritual. obviously the bibi is lacking preeth right now. so we should actully be trying to build pyaar inside of her first, then she'll automatically realize the value of kesh. if you go ahead and tell her o ur thinking is wrong, u'll goto hell for doing this etc..... (trust me, i've heard those things) it wont have any affect on her. dont scare her man rolleyes.gif

u know what, i thought i'd try to be polite, but dont think thats gonna work. so lemme take off my jutti.

she needs pyaar rite now. its hard to keep ones hair when one is constantly being judged on its basis, even by our own :@ and yes i have seen that as well. even at gurudwara its these guys/bibia (esp. bibia) that do chuglia of such people. "o look at her, she looks like a guy" and crap like that. :umm: and obviously she gets that outside (at work, school etc) and DONT judge the bibi :<Edited>: uney dujia nu rah dusdey phirdey aaa .

for those who like to bring up the example of guru vs society, have you ever thought that maybe just MAYBE she isn't strong enough rite now. maybe just MAYBE she needs to concentrate on reading bani and doing sangat. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i have NEVER EVER heard anyone say that to a bibi. its all about "oooooo when you gonna tie a dastaar" OR "when you gonna stop cutting your hair" nonono.gif wat about "when you gonna start a sehaj paath" or "when you gonna start doing simran daily" or "when you gonna wakeup at amritvela, we can help each other wake up"

bani to bina , bana phakhand hai. its these "youth" that are all gung ho about bana and sadly tend to not pay too much attention to the bani aspect. for 9 jamey, guru sahib showed us what we need to be on the inside, only then in the 10th jama was the outside saroop given, these days things seem to go in the opposite direction.

Jaty calm down, have an ice cream :@

Ok but i do agree with Jaty on this one. i suppose i can see where paapi is cuming frm, tht if shes doubting mahraj and thinkin about cutting her hair this much, then if she did just remove it she would see her errors and realise her mistake. because i suppose she aint gonna listen to anyone. HOWEVER, i dont agree this is the best option, as sangat we should be sharing gurmat beliefs, we should be encouraging her to do baani and simran, to have faith in mahraj and tell her the importance of keeping her gift of kesh. Its alot easy for us if she goes and removes it and learns the hard way, but we shouldnt give up on her, and see tht joyt of mahraj within her, she is our sister! Would u say the same thing to ur own sister!?

However on a side note everything is in hukam and whatever happens will happen regardless of our own opinions.

Soory if tht didnt make sense.

I actually with papi on this one. When you tell a person 'you can't do this, you can't do that' they will do it anyway. Then they will feel worthless because society will make them feel that way (even our own gursikhs). Then the piar for sikhi goes slowly because you think, well I am obviously not good enough for sikhi even my fellow brothers and sisters think i am worthless. When you give the person a choice and get them to decide for themselves..they think more about it. Yes keeping hair is important in sikhi, my first response would be, 'omg don't do it.' But how does that help? Then I would tell the person all about the great gursikhs that died for us. Emotionally blackmailing them.making them feel guilty. I have seen this happen. But what i have said is all right, i know this...but sometimes it does not help. Like papi said she may not be that strong yet.

I SOOO agree with building the piar within, we really forget this. Build within and the outside attire comes naturally. We go from step 1 to step 100. Sehjeh Sehjeh....slowly but surely people. But i know some people are blessed to jump steps. Show piar to everyone, don't judge (i know it's hard, i judge myself....'like i am miss perfect' - i tell myself).

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
