On the Hub: To download

Sorry for being out the loop here. How do I access this "Hub" ( not very technically inclined). Could you please provide in depth instructions. My heart is aching to hear some of these tapes.

samosasingh follow these steps and u can access the hub it will take all of 5mins:

download the dc++ programe from here: DC++ Software

then:

1) open the dc++ prog, and in the settings box (2nd last icon in toolbar) type a username

2) click the sharing section on left hand side in settings, and add a folder in which u have files (min 12mb)

3) set the upload slots to 2, then click ok

4) click the first icon in toolbar (public hub) in the manual connect adress type: gursevahub.com, then press enter.

and thats you in and u can downloads thousand of sikhi related files, check out the hub serversharing over 90gb of sikhi media, and each user has their own individual share too.

umm...

install it. It is called DC ++ [direct connect]. The program is something like good-old Kazaa, but here people share in different clubs, called hubs. Hence you need to search for Gurseva Hub (keertan). Once you installed it...you have to fix settings. Give a path on your pc where people can download stuff from and a path where you can download stuff from others. etc.

So you need to click on the image of a blue-screen on the left of the DC++ menu. Once you are there you get a new window. there type either 'Sikh' or 'Keertan' in the filter line and click enter. Or you can type the direct addr.: gurseva.no-ip.com in the 'manual connect address' line.

Once you enter the Gurseva Hub, you can double-click on any name in the list to download the 'list file' of that user and see what they have to share. If you want to download something you just double-click on that file. You can also use Search fuctions to see what ppl are sharing. These are the basic things...common for all hubs.

But every hub has certain rules. On Gurseva hub i think minimum limit is 1 GB, that you have to share or something..just read the rules once you are in Gurseva hub.

OK i HAVE DOWNLOADED DC++. I have connected to the gurseva hub. What I can't figure out is how to view all the files for downloading?

to get to the files you should see a list of people in th ehub on the right. Double click on the main server and it should load up a list of items under the server to down load. Then you can go the the items you want, click on your right mouse button and download them.

Thats the thing there are no names on the right under the heading "Nick". It just says it is connecting then timeout????

right how much stuff are you sharing and are you putting the manual address of gursevahub.com in the address. that could be the problem as you have to share at least 20mb. i have just tried to get in and have had no problems.

How do you "share"? Please explain

go to your setting which is one of the buttons on the top of the program and it lets you select what files you want to share.
