Need Help With 1984 Essay...

first off, the 1984 riots were a mass genocide ... right? like its within the same meaning of the amritsar massacre (the british shooting)?

okay well my essay is now on the riots and what happend, when, who, why, and what could the canadian goverment have done to prevent or help.

if anyone can give me links on TRUE information and just help me out a little...

i know alot about the topic, but just some more help... (i've never had to write an essay on it..)

ok, you can start off to what led to the riots, which would be the killing of indra gandi.

then mention why she was killed, talk about the whole golden temple attack. state what the gov. was doing to sikhs in late 70' and early 80's. mention sant ji, and the morcha.

then back to the riots, um...so we got morcha, then attack on darbar sahib, then shooting of indra, which finally brings us to the riots.

i know allot about operation bluestar, but i right now i'm doing background info, mainly sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale... i know he was trying to inspire the youth, but wasn't their inequalities to sikh back then?

i need to know why Sant ji stepped up and fought for sikhs...

veerjee.. as in riots both sides are to blame but that didn't happened in Delhi in 80's. Use "Sikh Genocide" instead of using word "riots"

u shud actauly state that fact in the essay, that a riot is when two groups attack each other, but in this case it was not a riot but an attack on innocent people, therefore it being a genocide......

ul actualy get the point across and ur essay will have more relevent information

yea, the first killing of a sikh was reported on november 1st. but the violence started on oct. 31, same day indra was killed.
