Fear For A Naxalite Attack On Takht Sri Patna Sahib?

wow.. dint know sikhs had so much support for naxalites...

Sunny,

For every Sikh, like myself, who has the utmost respect for the Naxalites and their struggle, you will find another Sikh who hates them.

I respect them because I know them, intimately. Members of my family were part of the Punjabi Naxalite movement in the 60s and 70s and believe me, they know their stuff and are very highly educated.

This is why many Sikhs respect them: they are staunch Socialists (to be precise, they are Marxist-Leninists) and, as such, they believe in the equality of the human race, an equal distribution of wealth and the abolition of distinctions of caste, creed, gender, colour etc.

Does that sound familiar? It should, because that is exaclty what Sikhs believe in.

The reason that some Sikhs may dislike them is because they are, in the tradition of Marxism, atheists. I have no problem with this and neither do the majority of Sikhs out there.

When children are dying because the State and society deems it fit to discriminate along the lines of caste, I do not care if a man or woman believes in God, shmod or the jolly green giant as long as something is done about it. And the Naxalites have been doing something about it for 40 odd years.

May the Gurus bless the Naxalites for doing what the Sikhs should be doing.

Apologies for the long rant.

Sunny! hope u learned something jk

beautifully said Muzumdar.

its amzing how much we dont know about other leaders or organizations etc who are doin the same thing sikhs tryin to do for the past so many decades. i think these days only those whos family members were involved in that LAHAAR in punjab or else where are aware of the fact how powerful, educated, intelligent, positive, humanitarian, (sikh like) Nax members are and were. most of them never got married during that time, because they knew the tactics of the government and didnt want some other family(wife and her family) to get harassed or emotionally/physically abused for something the hubby chose to do with his life.

these people are down to earth!

when the lehar died in punjab...most of these people joined other organizations to do what they were passionate about. u will find most of these members(who are still alive) doing GREAT I MEAN REALLY GREAT SEVA for the human kind! they still respect who evr was involved and have a network which is so strong because they lived for each other and had a same goal.

oh and one thing for sure....yes people think these people dont believe in GOD BUT MOST OF THE PUNJABI(SIKH) who were part of this in 60's and 70's believed in Akal purakh and joined because of the reasons said above by Muzumdar..which matched Sikh ethics and lifestyle.

bhul chuk muaff karni and hope that helps us see whats being done by these people in india from a positive perspective! (and yes always know we all are human beings and tend to make mistakes...im sure there are some in Nax (members) now who are GOVT people involved to do wrong like they did before..so dont turn ur blind eye to those things)

rab rakh!=)

wjkk wjkf!

To sum this ludicrous and pathetic story up: don't believe everything you read.

The Punjabi Naxalites, nor any other Naxalites, would even contemplate attacking a Gurdwara. Their ultimate aim is the creation of a Socialist Republic of India through violent revolution. Gurdwaras do not come into their equations.

They want to change the Indian political system, which they feel is corrupt, discriminatory and murderous. (Sound familiar?)

They are probably the bravest people fighting the State and, unlike the Sikhs, have a coherent political ideology behind them.

They have no issue with Sikhi or Sikhs per se, and in fact I remember a Naxalite resolution being passed supporting the post-Bluestar Sikh freedom fighters.

So please, lay off them. They are cool.

U r wrong my brother NAXALITES r as anti-sikh as RSS during sikh struggle in 80s their cadre joined cats and formed their own teror groups these were KARTAR SINGH SARABHA BRIGADE, INDIAN LIONS their leader sumit singh of PREETLARI was sent to to hell by singhs their leaders like balwinder singh still r allowed to carry and keep weapons like LMG ,AK 47S .they wear now panthic mask in 1993 in south they killed Punjab Police officers then did beadbi of their kesh as aresult their 8 villages were burned down by sikh policemen and 1000 socalled brave naxallites came and surrendered. We will be fooling ourself if we trust these bastards leftists H.S SURJEET WAS THE ONE OF THE FOUNDER OF NAXALITE MOVEMENT. Their other leaders r RAUANKI RAM profeessor of political science in Punjab university. Bhupinder brar both r the bigggest anti sikhs. They r trying to revive their movement in punjab through migration of bIHARI LABOURERS .These naxalites were involved in mass killings of sikh fighters famlies.

Naxallites have failed poltical ideology and their track record in China ,RUSSIA is stained with blood of innocent people. One of top INDIAN Army official compares naxallites with sikh figters like this naxallites despite their numbers meekly runs away but sikh fighters fights like tigers and repulshes the superior forces. And leftists r anti religion if they dare attack the TAKHT PATNA SHAIAB. THERE WILL BE SEVERE RETAILIATION FROM HUGH SIKH UNITS SITUATED IN BIHAR as happened in1996 when a sikh army officer was abuducted and when sikh troops laid seige to their strongholds and 1500 naxallites surrendered and freed the officer. Rather sikhs have clear political idelogy and their track recod is clean even medival period. so dump leftist idology in garbage.

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
