anyone hava any ideas on what to talk about to a group of children aged 6-13?

the talk has to be on sikhi but the children have already covered the basics of sikhi on a couple of occassions...

all ideas welcome but rember they are only young & dhass is only a teen to.

make it more physical then spiritual ... why sikhs wear turban etc ... and sakhis of great sikh battles

i done a similar thing a few months ago tell them stories about the shaheeds one about the chote sahibzade should be good for their kinda age group

a good one is to go thru ardas wid them. use a poewrpont ardas illustration thingamijig.

It might be too brutal and children at that age are very sensitive and it could do more harm on them than good. I can't even handle reading about some of the shaheeds myself.

I dunno - it depends how brutal u make it sound - I was alright learning bout shaheeds when I was little.

I am sorry I have to disagree. Today you don't tell them about Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh Jee, tomorrow you weep when they cut their hair. Today you don't tell them about Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Jee, tomorrow you weep when they come home with a bruised face. Today you don't tell them about Shaheed Bhai Mati Das Jee, tomorrow you weep tears of blood when they adopt another religion. You don't want to weep, you have to teach them from now on. You don't want them to weep, you have make them lions and lionesses right from the start.

Just to add on, never forget to teach them about Bhai Kanhaiyya Jee as well :D
