I wouldn't worry about it. I know it is easier for me to say because i am not in your situation, but i doubt the singhni is going to say no to you just because your dad drinks. You just make yourself the best gursikh you can ever be and make maharaj proud of you and you will attract a beautiful singhni with the same calibre. If i met a gursikh who was clearly in love with maharaj, i wouldn't care if his dad was alcoholic. You marry someone who you think will help you to become the best gursikh you can be, so why would the fact that your dad drinks bother her.....its you that is important! So start increasing your bani and building your relationship with maharaj.............everything else will fit into place........you will see!

The person above me stated it beautifully, listen to him/her.......... but still If you are this much worried about it then just talk to your dad and tell him about your feelings towards him drinking and how u think it can effect u, i am sure ur dad will understand.

You can not stop him, i need to stop himself. Otherwise he will stop for a month and continue after that.

One time i said to my dad to make a statement, in which he wrote not to drink. with his signature.

We had a bet and i had won this, so he had to stop drinking.

Next day he laugh and said that's not my handwriting.

My meaning is paji that someone can one stop with his heart, not by you, me.
