Sikh Spirit In Naina Devi Stampede

Recommended Posts

The bad thing is that many of the victims themselves were Sikhs!!!!!! See the list and you will see there are so many Singhs and Kaurs!!!!!!!

Comeon, why did they go there? Waheguru punished them!

But not only here, in each mandir of Punjab, Haryana or Himachal you will see Sikhs there... Why???

The sikhs who are involved in helping the victims need really high praise. They are making a good name for the sikhs. At the same time, this problem of "sikhs" visiting hindu mandirs, muslim peers, etc needs to be addressed.

Regarding akal purakh punishing these "sikhs" for visiting naina devi, thats wrong.

Some time back, yatree traveling to Sri Hemkunt Sahib also died due to some accident.

Its all happening in the will of Akal Purakh, so we shud accept bhannaa and help anyone in need or suffering.

the point of this post was to highlight sikhs' helping fellow human beings in need.

sikhs worshipping idols and devis, etc is a whole different topic.

peace.

lets implent the issue of sikhs visiting/believing in devtae in this thread,,

And achieve what? Change the world from behind our PCs posting comments on SikhSangat.com. When we have role models like the mahan Gursikhs who are doing the sewa outlined in the first posting most of us still want to focus on the negative state of peoples belief system. Again it's all about the half empty glass v the half full glass.

If we only focus on the negative side will only see negativity. If we can see that there's a postivity in every situation then we will be closer to understanding what "Chardi Kala" is. It's ironic that the Sikhs get the publicity for carrying out the sewa of the dead, not the Hindus or any Chritian aid workers. Surley we should learn from that and have some pride for our GurSikhs carrying out GuruJi's sewa.

so you are glad they were punished..i saw many children dead bodies in the news during this stampede.. and you are glad they were punished...vahiguroo doesnt belong to sikhs only... oh well sikhs went to naina devi,, they got what they deserve and chapter closed.. you may be sikh of taliban organization but definitely not sikh of sri guru gobind singh ji ... scumbags like you should be jailed and put away for good.

Where did I say that I'm glad they were punished? Since when have you become an antarjami?

The truth is that each one should practice their one religion properly. Either be Hindu, either Sikh. And also Sikhi says that idol worshipping is bad?

And mr. Namstung, WHO ARE YOU TO DECIDE WHOSE A SIKH AND WHO NOT?

I think you might niavly think that this internet forum will change the world and there's mass exposure by posting on sikhsangat.com. The old saying is that "actions speak louder than words" and that's why to me the GurSikhs carrying out the sewa of the dead is of a greater importance. If you wish to focus soley on the devi worshiping than like suggested start another thread or join in on one of the numerous older threads which have already discussed this.

There’s nothing more inspirational than good actions, genuine sewa and integrity. Most people are inspired by those positive attributes and are more likely to implement change in their jeevans when seeing the actions of role models.

glass half full or empty? i appreciate the point of sikhs helping out in this moment of need but 1 needs to establish why some sikhs were there in the first place. In this thread we have already acknowledged sikhs have helped out and god bless them.

Why does Manikaran gurdwara have calendar pics of mata etc?

Maybe it’s because we classify people as Sikh too easily based on their name having Singh/Kaur or the fact that they keep a turban & beard. Maybe we should also look at the individual’s reni/beni before we look at them as being Sikh. It’s a tough one!!
