Well brother i m sure that airport security is not gonna allow them to carry kirpan or any other sharpen kind of stuff in aircraft...... they have to hand all this stuff to airlines staff the best thing to do is put all this stuff in checking luggage or the other thing is that they can carry kirpans with them till boarding gate security but afterwards i m sure that they are not gonna allow any such thing ....... then they ll handover kirpans to airlines staff and these kirpans ll be handed over back nihangs when the arrive the destination port........... well its a common rule for everyone .................u better prepared in advance ........

i have seen sometimes security does allow few ppls to carry but when its a matter of group i dont think ny bdy ll take chance.

One thing you can do is that confirm it from the airlines you are travelling with there is a minimum size( i think 6 inch) which is allowed to carry but nything above this is not permitted i guess

I was once with Baba Thakur Singh Ji, and he took off his nine inch kirpan, but had a three inch still on. I was told that as they were like top people a special letter had been given to airline who arranged for them to be able to keep their kirpan on. I also read once on Tapoban some flights if you give them refernces and signed letters etc. and pay a higher ticket price you can be escorted which means you can keep kirpan on. Things may have changed now, but what I read was after 9/11

Not exactly ^, it's a very long procces, where they do loads of paperwork as well as a backround check...and so on...

If you are approved then you don't have to remove your kirpan, as i have seen this was Dhadrain Wale Sant Ji...everytime

they travel they do not have to remove their Kirpan but it took a VERY long time for them to be approved for this, and not many people do get approved it's usually only for "higher ranking ppl".

I heard this a few weeks ago.

A Gursikh, who had much love for Gurus and Sikhi, was going to board on a plane. He was sad and did ardas wholeheartedly to Waheguru before leaving, in which he asked for help. This Singh was wearing his Kirpan under his clothes. What happened was kirpa of Waheguru, his kirpan WASN'T detected by the metal detector and he was let on the plane.

Moral: Have faith in Waheguru, do ardas wholeheartedly before going to airport, Maharaj will surely help you.

What if someone were to get by the security with a Kirpan on, and its gets spotted after...they could be in big trouble. Or if someone tries to go by security, and they ask if you have anything sharp on you, and you lie and say "no"...and they pat you down and find a Kirpan...you'll most likely miss your flight because they might take you aside and start questioning you.
