That is quite a good question, but I thought the width of a dastar is ALWAYS the same when it comes from the manufacturers/shop? :umm:

Just to let you know, it is absolutely fine to cut the length of a dastar (i.e. need five metres or whatever) but cutting dastar's through the middle is regarded as beadbi - it shoud NEVER be cut - should always be folded to narrow the width down.

If you do not regard it as beadbi continue I am not here to lecture.

Khalsa Ji,

How WIDE should a dastar material be? and how long?

Gurfateh!

2 meter wide

6.5 meter long

This is what I switched to ..

Earlier I used to do 2 meter wide & 7.5 meter long Jatt style

But I guess a bit small size pag is better .

Cloth variety can be ruby

Put fifity along on head

Do puni of pag.

Put one side of pag in mouth

And start warp from the behind side onto the front around the head

To make it better pag. Each step and move is very imp for final outcome

Make nice step by step lar on falling side(left side) while try to keep the back side(starting side/right side) lar as far as possible from the front. It is only the last lar of the falling side that should finally equate the both sides .

Also each step of lar should be tight and clubbed . any way I am sure their should be sites that can give better on how to wear pag

Gurfateh!

The thing is, the dastaar material i have is too wide, so i was wondering whether u can cut it (half the size, i find 2 metres or more too big), i dont see why not if u cut the length to your size. But for a dastaar, how wide does the sangat on here have their material?
