waheguroo ji ka khalsa waheguroo ji ke fateh

Few questions on meditation:

1. How do we concentrate when doing Simran? does is happen by itself with the more Simran we do?

2. HOW exactly do we do mediatation? do we simply sit in a chonkuri, close our eyes and say waheguroo in repetition?

3. When our eyes are closed- what are we supposed to concentrate on? the actual waheguroo word we are saying - do we make sure we hear EVERY syllable? where are our eyes supposed to concentrate on?

Please reply back as soon as possible!

thanks.

1. You don't. Everytime that you have a problem getting in the GAP (silence), slice apart the thoughts with the Sword of loud Waheguru.

2. Indeed, learn to sit in Lotus pose 'chonkari' with practice. You will surely have poor flexibility if you are a westerner. Practice, practice, practice.\

3. When your eyes are closed you have the entire vast Universe before you. Go explore...

For a deeper understanding of the word “Vaheguru”, we can look at its four syllables individually. These four syllables (in Gurmukhi) are "Vaavaa", "Haahaa", "Gaggaa", and "Raaraa". Guru Granth Sahib Ji reveals to us on ang (respected word for page) that these four syllables represent the Names of the One Creator Supreme Being. For example, Vaavaa represents ‘Vaasudev’, Haahaa represents ‘Hari’, Gaggaa represents ‘Gobind’, and Raaraa represents ‘Raam’. All these are different names of the same One Timeless Reality, which have been repeatedly used throughout the Gurbani; which suggests that this Mantra is not only condensed into a short and sweet form, but also very powerful!

remember:

Wa - vadda - great/powerful

He - apparent - everywhere

Gu- dark - from darkness

Ru - light - to light
