Thank you sunnybondsingh84!

And sikhvibes.com:

Create a hollywood based movie- positive impact on sikh community, sikh identity throughout the WORLD and especially America and Europe. Side effects= bollywood try to impersonate the movie and create cheap imitation. Too late, the hollywood media channel is far superior and can reach the world and promote publicity faster than you can send a text!

VS

Do nothing and have bollywood continuously destroy our identity regardless.....well its easy to do nothing, we have been doing it all our lives!!!!!!

I think life post 1708 maybe a good idea....... this is an idea and the first step is going to be gather likeminded sikhs who could have the same amount of passion...so far 2 people...

There’s no point of trying to do Panth Di Seva while going against the accepted view of Gursikhs in the Panth regarding the cinematic portrayal of Guru Maharaj ji.

You don’t need to actually act out Guru ji to teach the public about Sikhi, just use your creative genius. Also, there is also the problem of actually acting out the role of Sargun Saroop of Akaal Purakh. No point in trying to do seva, but doing it on our manmat terms.

Also, no movie can ever replace our Gurdwaras, please don’t make such remarks.

Doing parchar through new and different mediums is good, but not by attacking our roots and speaking against our Gurughars.

Also, remember that movies plays etc are a good secondary parchar method. Nothing can ever compare with Naam Abhyiaas with Gursikhs, Gurmat Keertan, Dhadhi vaars, Gurbani katha. That’s the real parchar.

Movies are a way to get kids interested in sikhi, teach a little history, and reach out somewhat to the public. Real public impact happens when people can interact with real live Gursikhs in everyday life.

Not trying to rain on people’s ambitions, but we need to keep perspective when we approach such things.

We have such a vast history that we don’t need to compromise our traditions. Vismaad Productions do a wonderful job with the funding they have.

I agree there should be no actor playing the role of Guru Maharaj...

But we are not dissing gurughars, just saying that they are raising funds with huges amounts of met, and they aint doing any effective parchar (except a few), films would do effective parchar.

Sikhi Movies are not only for kids but also for the youth and other people.

Jai te Gang! Jai Jai jag karan srist ubaran mam pratiparan jai te gang!!

You've missed the plot of the aim of such a production. I didnt say the aim of the film was to do parchar and bring people into sikhi. The aim is to educate the world on who sikhs are and tell me if you disagree that hollywood and media is the fastest channel of doing so.

you talk about creative genius...please explain and expand of the approach you would take to educate the whole world overnight about the sikhs!! If I gave you this task what what you do/use??????

"Also, no movie can ever replace our Gurdwaras, please don’t make such remarks"

Who said it was going to replace gurdwaras, you are coming up with your own argument, no such remark was made...

"attacking our roots and speaking against our Gurughars. "

Again what are you talking about? who said the movie would attack our roots and speak against Gurughars??? Tell me.....

This is however happening under our own eyes, bollywood is attacking sikhi in almost all their movies.. a hollywood production is a massive scale counterattack

"Compromise on our traditions" And it is our tradition to sit down and do nothing..

sorry I don't agree with what you have said... it is our job to educate the masses (on who we are, not parchar) and the idea of a hollywood production is the most effective, fastest distribution channel of doing so FACT.......
