Whats Gobind Sadan?

,My advise is to stay close to 'nirol' or mainstream Sikhi for which there are plenty of 'normal' gurudwaras etc one can go to.

The Gobing Sadan website shows things like a big complex where there is a gurudwara, but a few feet away, a havan or fire place around which you sit and whose ashes have supposed magical properties, then nearby too a statue of Jesus where a spring washes his feet perpetually and then water of this spring too has some magical properties , etc etc, and a mosque nearby etc etc. It shows some punjabee or Sikh looking women lighting some candles at the exact spot where jesus apparently appeared to and met baba virsa . This is more of a choc a bloc confusion of a medley of faiths rather than some intelligent interfaith stuff.

Proper interfaith is about dialogue leading to religious tolerance, as our Gurujee's did by preaching that God's light is in all , that all humans are one family and that in all heterogenuity is the one presence of the Divine. Gurujee did not go about constructing mosques, churches and havans inches away from Harmandir Sahib to 'promote' interfaith and prove Sikhism is a religion of tolerance. It is a normal thing for a Naam chanting, chardikela Sikh to receive divine visions of past prophets and saints etc but we dont start lighting candles at the site and encourage others to do so. Infact , such a vision is best kept as a private secret between man and God.

Also Gurujee didn't go around trying to prove and show or boast of themselves as some great interfaith missionaries or leaders by trying to celebrate all the hindu, muslim and christian festivals as happens in gobind sadan if you check their website. In Sikhi we are encouraged to celebrate gurpurabs as per maryada. We have to follow the examples set by our Gurujee's.

As Sikhs, our mandate is to live in Sikhi, be in chardikela and be a beacon of hope to all human beings, shower everyone around us with love and compassion, and to preach Naam Dharam to everyone in our life, letting anyone in our radar know of the greatness of the House of Guru Nanak, and bring Shree Guru Granth Sahib to this broken world of conflict, pain , poverty and sorrow.

Some of the teachings by the late Baba Virsa Singh

1. Dont read too much Sukhmani sahib as it makes you a 'sant' (weak) and then people walk all over you.

2. Read Jaap Sahib (infact he used to prefer Jaap over Japji, got this advise plenty of times) and you will become strong.

3. Jaap Sahib is Sikh version of 'Hanuman Chalisa'.

4. Khalistan is fake goal and is not gonna happen. Khalistanis are stupid and living in dream land.

He also did not have any kind words for 'all' of sants and brahmgianis. He blasted them in his writings, almost all of them.

Gobind sadans statements have been misinterpreted. He said that the Khalsa wont have One Specific land called 'Khalistan' as a point will come when the whole Dharti will become Khalsa. As the Khalsa doesnt stay in one place, it will go from place to place, and spread the message of the Khalsa. If this was going to happen Sri Dasam Pita would have installed one land called 'Khalistan'.

Indra did visit Gobind Sadan and he stated that 'I am a huble servant, he who comes to the house of god should never be turned away' With all due respect, people have to read, study and get their facts right before spreading rumours. There is also a place where they did sa havan, and there they recited Sri Jaapji Sahib, Chandi Di Vaar and Jaap Sahib.

With Regards to Sukhmani Sahib, he never said that not to read sukhmani sahib too much. He said that a Gristhti person should recite it once, along with nitnem as the power of this bani is so that it can de-attach a person from Material Means. Gobind Sadan themself state that a person should recite their nitnem, and additional 7 Japji Sahib and Jaap Sahib Paaths.

After the 1984 attack when the Jujahroo Singhs kept fighting the atrocities committed by the Indian Gov. on Sikhs in punjab.

This Virsa papi collaborated with the Gov. againts the Singhs. to bring down the movement.

Gobind Sadan teaches you universal brotherhood. Baba Virsa Singh used to say that his only Jaidaad is " giving naam and distributing jaap sahib."  And he lived to his words. When he passed away he did not form a trust to manage the vast lands, he just left it. If he would have been materialistic he would have formed a trust but he did no because he had no interested in worldly affairs' except spread the mission of Guru Nanak Dev ji. 

Baba Virsa Singh JI did not blast Sants. What he said is we should try to become a sewadar rather than award degrees of Baba or Sant.  

Baba Virsa Singh JI said become firm in your faith and follow all hukums of that faith. Because all religions preach the same.

Baba Virsa Singh JI took tolerance to the next level when you see a Amritdhari sikh participating in Aarti of Jesus and similarly a person born in a Muslim or Hindu or Christian faith waiving chor sahib on Guru Granth Sahib ji.
