Daljit Singh Bittu, president, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Panch Pardhani, had tried to win over the Shingaar cinema bomb blast case prime witness by offering Rs 5 lakh. He had asked witness Sukhwant Singh not to depose against the accused in case.

This was claimed by the police in court proceedings here today when it produced Bittu and his accomplices for seeking police remand. It was also claimed that Bittu had given Rs 1.40 lakh to Gurbir Singh, one of the main accused in killing Lilly Sharma, a follower of Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Duty Magistrate Kapil Sharma extended police remand of Bittu and his accomplices Hardeep Singh, Palwinder Singh, Jaspal Singh and Daljit Singh by four days.

Public Prosecutor Sukhchain Singh pleaded that hidden weapons were to be recovered from Bittu. He said the statement on concealing of weapons at a secret place was given by Bittu to the police during remand today.

He was also accused of reviving militancy in the state.

The defence opposed extension of police remand as the accused had already been in police remand for nine days.

Bittu and his accomplices were arrested on August 26 for indulging in unlawful activities, after the revelations made by alleged Babbar Khalsa terrorist Balbir Singh Bhootna.

Earlier, Bittu, a former militant, had launched protest against the Dera Sacha Sauda and other deras in the state.

Some arms and ammunition has been recovered near an army camp in Barmer,Rajasthan yesterday night.

Im not sure but it looks like the police is going to link this recovery(or whatever it is) to Bhai Bittu to extend his remand even futher than September 10,2009.

The media is already attributing this arms recovery to 2 Babbar Khalsa men who "did not" turn up to pick the consignment.

The police and agencies are back to their old tactics with full backing and support of the badals.

In the above report Gurbir Singh whom the Punjab police claims is responsible for Dera Man Lilly Sharma's killing is in fact a professor. Not only this he has been attending every anti Salabatpur dera gathering which is held at Takht Damdama Sahib,Talwandi Sabo every Sunday even after Lilly's killing.Any person who is reponsible for some killing will not roam around freely like this.

Punjab police is concocting stories and linking them with all anti Dera Sikh leaders and workers.

The main fact remains that the progress of Punjab police in the cases relating to killing of Rulda and Lilly is "Nil" .Punjab police has no clue as to who has killed them .

Apart from this it is reported that a very close associate and driver of Bhai Bittu named Jaspal Singh Paala has commited suicide at Bathinda railway station.Paala's family claims he can never commit suicide and they suspect foul play in his death.

Badal will pay dearly for all his atrocities on innocent Sikhs.

can i just ask why does everyone seem to think the Badals are behind all of this? It can just as easily be the Congress. They might be the opposition but they have influence aswell

Badals are directly responsible for this as Bhai Bittu has become a direct threat to the badals in the malwa region. For your info Punjab police is under Punjab govt and not the center.

At the same time Congress is indirectly responsible for keeping quite in case of Sikhs and at the same time supporting deras in Punjab.

By the way for us Badal=BJP=Congress=Traitors of Sikhs.

All are same for us . To hell with Badal,BJP and Congress(including Punjab Congress).Badal is moving around indulging in anti Sikh activities and hobbnobing with anti Sikh persons at the behest of the center.

It is perhaps because of this that one Punjabi Newspaper said "Ajj Sikh Laawaris ho gaye...." when it became clear that badal govt (whom still some fools consider as Panthic) is allowing "Naam Charcha" under "police protection" and instead Sikhs are being framed in false cases.

It is a very crucial time for Sikh nation to think and analyse nefarious designs of Badal government. This is a staged drama to please Sirsa dera as they voted heavily in favour of Badals in last concluded parliamentary elections. Now it is Badal's turn to return favours. They want to rule and this is their only target. They can sacrifice many Daljits for that.

Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu's police remand has been extended again. He has been in interrogation by the police since August 26. (That is a long time in interrogation, especially when the police claimed at the time of arrest that they have all the evidence.)

Bittus remand extended

Rajneesh Lakhanpal

Ludhiana, September 10

Chief Judicial Magistrate Lachmman Singh today extended police remand of Daljit Singh Bittu, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) for a day. The court also extended police remand of co-accused Jaspal Singh Manjpur, spokesman for the party, Palwinder Singh Shatrana and Gurdeep Singh Raju for a day.

Additional Public Prosecutor Sukhchain Singh had sought extension of their police remand pleading they wanted to know the identity of persons funding the accused for reviving militancy.

Meanwhile, supporters of the accused persons blocked the Ferozepur road for an hour. They lift the dharna only after SDM Prem Chand received a memorandum from them.

All i see is PP catching up innocent ppl. This is their only solution and small brain can think of. They want to show to public that they are doing their job but eventually they are rounding up ex-fighters or the sympathizer of our old movement.Totally harmless civilized citizens are the one who are in trouble these days..
