Yogi Harbhajan'S Place & Gurdwara

I want to know if i am the only one who thinks that this is wrong. Below are the pictures of hindu god statues in Yogi ji's house and wall painting/mural of mary over khanda sahib (in gurdwara) where artist indirectly compared yogi ji with guru sahib. I respect their lifestyle but this to me is bit disturbing.

Please discuss gently.

Catholicism has strong roots in Latin/South America etc. There are many different mixtures of faith systems that incorporate Mary the mother of Christ as a figure head and Earth mother symbolism with the indigenous cultural faith.

There are different levels of understanding when it comes to belief, faith and devotion. There are plenty who believe in non-imagery non-symbolism non-ritualism and are totally void of humanity.

To be fair, similar to Yogi Bhajans house, we also keep a fake antique looking Hindu religious sculpture thingy in the garden. It looks quite good in an 'ethnic' sort of way and is very useful as we use it as a manure base before planting bulbs.

Other than that, even though its wrong, its still common in many households to have statues of devi's and hindu Gods.

And what is that a pic of on the left side? And on the right Side, is that Guru Arjun Dev Ji?

its proper manmat..... its these sorts of things that confuse people about us and then when Governments jump on the wandbagon and start calling us hindus then we start making a fuss about it.....especially that picture with Gurus and mother of Jesus in the middle, but im not suprised as the yogi bajan sikhs practice a lot of manmat and have increasingly become a cult like namdharis....there women are Panj Piares and administer Amrit and they are also very fond of bhangra music and dancing around to tunes from the likes of Surjit Bindrakhia etc.

I believe that left picture is of Yogi Harbhajan Singh and on yes you right that right picture of guru sahib (my guess is guru Ramdas ji). I read somewhere that this mural was painted by someone who is not Sikh but I don't think or sure that if this mural is inside gurdwara sahib.

I dont think there is anyting in Gurmat that is against keeping idols.. It is the worship of idols that is prohibited. Unless you can prove that they worship these statues please stop spreading wrong information on the 3HO who matha dekh the same Guru as you

Whatever their purpose is it is none of our business is it? I doubt they worship these statues. I'd rather think they keep them as artifacts of indian culture and history.

When Maharaj said he was the idol breaker he meant that in contrast to Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb would literally destroy the idols of hindus to have them stop worshipping them. What would happen is that they would just built new ones. Maharaj would interlectually make them realise how futile it is to worship these, where they would then leave the idols themselves and never built new ones again... In this way Maharaj says he is the real idol breaker..
