English Parchariks

Recommended Posts

WJKK WJKF,

Can someone please direct me towards gurmat vichars / parchars but that are spoken in english by the parcharik. I listen to parchariks in punjabi and have watched dvds and programmes such as gyan da sagar by maskeen ji many times but find I don't fully understand.

So is there anyone out there who is highly regarded in giving sermons about sikhi in english? Who speaks the correct truth (unadultrated, not deviating from sikhi with a hidden agenda).

Thank you. I am not being totally lazy, if I can just get some names then I will search for the material myself.

Bhai Sukha Singh Akali is an english parcharik from the Uk think he was born in London

you can type is name on youtube and listen to some of his parchar or google it

theres lots of others like the singhs from sikhnet.com on youtube check up "gmustuk" on Youtube theres lots of videos on youtube just search what you want parchar on and there'll always be a translation. Sukha singh ji is a good hearted person and sounds like a gyani. Some of my friends have stayed with him and they said he's a big gyani you would see him doing simran while the rest are sleeping.

I advise ppl to only listen to kathas by brahmgianis like sant kartar singh, sant isher singh etc. I used to listen to other parcharics

but got really confused as their knowledge is wrong sometimes. How can a person who hasn't got gian give katha to ppl without making lots of mistakes..

Anyway that is only if you understand panjabi but for those who can't understand start from somewhere. Something better than nothing...

It's always great to see English Parcharks, of which we are very short indeed given the population of Sikhs throughout the west.

However, one suggestion , we all know our Guru Sahiban and various mahan Gursikhs later were conversant in many languages as well as SGGS, therefore it's only pertinent for us to learn Punjabi, Gurmukhi to as a high level possible. This is a must for us to emotionally feel our father SGGS talking to us as well as understanding and vichaar. Bhai Sukha Singh is only good due to his understanding of Gurmuki , panjabi having been born and bred in the UK. This learning of Punjabi and Gurmuki isn't a big issue,as we make it, just requires a weekly consistent effort. As mentioned by the likes of Maskeen Jee, the feeling and depth of meaning of Gurbani Gurmuki level cannot ever be expressed in weak or even deep English. Even American Sikhs started of with our English parchark Yogi sahib but still took to Panjabi Language to gain that deeper level understanding of Gurbani.
