Kamal Nath In The Uk To Sign An Infrastructure Pact

There was a very poor turnout as feared.

About 50 people turned out in the end. But it was only the usual expected face with the exception of a few who took time off work whilst in London and a Mother & Son duo from Just north of London.

It is understandable that Universities have just reopened and getting away can be difficult at such short notice, but a few Students did attend at the expense of Uni Lectures, so what excuse for others?

Transport was another big problem logistically, which needs to be addressed and many willing people would have attended if transport was avalible.

Still we were successful in some way as the meeting had to be rescheduled/relocated as previously posted.

Well done to BSSF, SFUK and the other Sikhs who went out of their way to attend. Whatever reasons we had for not being able to make it down, Sikhs could still impact by calling/emailing the venues. We had a window of around 7 working hours from confirmation of Kamal Nath's attendance to the end of the conference to make an impact. A 2 minute phonecall from around 50 Sikhs sitting in the comfort of their own homes/office can generate a massive impact and futher help the Sikhs who have managed to make it to the venue.

If logisitics is an issue for most of us then we must propel ourselves in to a postion to be able to use the phone or email accounts to make some noise. There should be no excuse to being helpless.

It's time for indvidual Sikhs to use their own initiative instead of relying on the Federation or the same Sikhs to bail us out everytime Kamal Nath or some other mass murderer of Sikhs turns up..

Now that the negative comments are out of the way here are a few positives to take from the demonstration.

Factfile -

- Kamal Nath was not able to hold the CII meeting at the scheduled event as he had planned.

- CII meeting was forced to be cancelled at the Crown Plaza hotel and relocated.

- Public and hotel stayers appeared to be very sympathic towards our demonstartion upon enquiry and supported the protest.

- No Violence occurred and the demo passed peacefully.

- We hope that the organisers of such events appreciate the reasons behind our demonstration and reffrain from inviting such mass murders in future.

- The inital aims of raising awareness of the event & subsequent protest as well as aiming to peacefully disrupt the CII meeting were achieved successfully.

We will be there!

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH.

I ALONG WITH FEW OTHER SIKH FRIENDS WENT TO THIS PLACE TODAY. WE WERE TOLD TO GATHER OUTSIDE HOTEL CROWNE PLAZA, BUCKINGHAM GATE (NEAR CAXTON HALL), LONDON. SW1E.

WE STAYED THERE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF, BUT LATER WE WERE TOLD THAT KAMAL NATH IS NOT COMING AND SIKHS FROM VARIOUS OTHER CITIES ALSO STARTED PREPARING TO GO BACK. WE THOUGHT THAT WE HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN OUR TARGET OF NOT ALLOWING HIM TO CONDUCT ANY MEETING HERE.

BUT SEE BELOW ANOTHER LINK BELOW WHICH SHOWS SOMETHING HAS ALREADY HAPPENED HERE ON MONDAY (YESTERDAY)

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/infrastructure/India-UK-to-work-together-in-road-sector/articleshow/6642067.cms

ALSO, I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY VIEWS THAT HOW COULD HE HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO ENTER IN THE UK, WHEN HE WAS REFUSED ARRIVAL IN US/CANADA.

WE KNOW THAT WE ARE A MASS POPULATION OF SIKHS IN THE UK, BUT OUR VIEWS ARE BIT SCATTERED.

WE NEED TO FOLLOW ON ONE PATH AND THAT COULD HAPPEN IF WE UNITE AND COME FORWARD TOGEHER RATHER THAN REPRESENTING OUR OWN GROUPS/ORGANISATIONS.

ALOS I WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE A LOOK THE BELOW LINK, WHICH AIMS TO UNITE ALL OF OURS ORGANISATIONS.

GURFATEH JI !!!!!!!!!!

Public demonstrations are without doubt the best mode of protest. But, I also believe that, as he and the other Indian politicians are so shameless, we should concentrate on shaming those British politicians and business leaders that willingly associate with them. What frightens them is the negative thoughts of their electorate and shareholders respectively. I'm talking mostly here about the Business Secretary Vince Cable (who seems to be on some sort of homosexual love-in with kamal nath) and the Minister for Transport Phil Hammond. The constituencies of both these men need to know what kind of man their MP's are friends with.

It's no coincidence that Kamal Nath repeatedly comes to London for these events. It is here he is welcomed with open harms whilst facing the possibility of arrest in other capitals.

Perhaps one of us can make 'Private Eye' magazine aware of the facts. Judging by recent issues they're actively looking for stories showing the hyocricy of the coalition and Vince Cable especially, who seems to be their object of ridicule at the moment.

Kamal Nath, like all killers, has no shame. Our demonstrations mean nothing to him. We need to concentrate on shaming the hotels, venues, organisers, politicians and business leaders that have blood on their hands by proxy by associating with him. We need to create the environment whereby no person or organisation in the UK will want to be seen next to him....for economic and political reasons.

LONDON: India and the United Kingdom here on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on matters of road transport, highways and related services.

The Minister for Road Transport and Highways Kamal Nath signed the MOU on behalf of India while the Secretary of State for Transport Philip Hammond signed on UK's behalf.

I think Phillip Hammond needs to be educated on this issue. Maybe it should be pointed out to Mr Hammond that a certain bridge just collapsed in Delhi. Not sure whether consulting Indians about roads and related services is a good idea.

Isn't Phillip Hammond MP the one Sikh Federation and BSCF are liaising with for the Dastaar issue in airports? unsure.gif

Unfortunately, his constituency is Runnymede and Weybridge, one of the most wealthy areas in England and unlikely to have many apnae. sad.gif

Jagtar Singh should advise if we should contact him directly to lobby on this issue. If we should, I can provide his contact email and also his constituency office's details!

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
