A Brief introduction about Sri Guru Sobha

Sri Gur Sobha was completed in 1711. Kavi Sainapat , its writer, was one of the court poets of Guru Gobind Singfh ji.

Language and pattern of writing is same as of Dasam Granth sahib.Quite a few verses of Sri Guru Shobha are copied from Dasam Granth sahib.

A few verses are same as found in Dasam Granth sahib such as Bachitra natak. Some verses are written on exact pattern of Nihklanki avtar of Dasam Granth sahib.

This shows that court poet of Guru sahib had tried to follow writing style of Guru sahib's writings in Dasam Granth.

Old books go out of print with time. In twentieth century Akali kaur singh found manuscripts of sri guru sobha.

Finally Dr Ganda singh got the book published.

Dr Ganda singh has not changed anything. He has given footnotesgiving his opinion what was in the original text and what he thinks per his

knowledge from other books such as Gurmat sudhakar and Gurmat martand of bhai kahan singh nabha etc.

That's brilliant Kam - my copy was 'borrowed' and never returned - and it is nigh on impossible to buy another copy (I've tried India Canada US & UK) . I look forward to getting a digital version. Where will it be available ?
