Dear All,

I am trying to get healthy at the moment so i have decided to start eating toasted sandwiches for lunch,instead of regular cold sandwiches!.However, most veggie fillings include cheese but i cant eat cheese everyday lol as i think it is fattening. Could the sangat kindly give me some ideas as to what (veggie) fillings i could put in my sandwich!?

thanks for the replies,

how about hummous, tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber?

ive tried tomatoe puree with mozzarella cheese and mushrooms (like pizza) but i think thats fattening! lol im trying to lose weight atm.

will the lettuce and cucumber taste bad if i toast it a sandwich makere?

Try th lettuce n cucumber u may like it, but i personally dont as it looses its freshness n it goes soggy.

1.mushrooms coat with bit of olive oil, and garlic, and spring onions

2. bananas

3. last nites aloo gobi

4. Boiled potatoe, peas, sweetcorn and carrot if u like, add garam masala, (bit like samosa filling), eat with mint sauce

5. thorke wale beans with sweetcorn with grated cheese, eat with salad

6. bit of ketchup on bread, grated cheese, onions, green or red peppers finely chopped, (chilli is optional)

Thanks for the replies,

im gona use brown bread because its healthy with tomato sauce and a linda mccartney vegi sausage, once toasted i'll add fresh tomatoes, cucumber and iceberg lettuce. I just tried it and its yum! lol.

tofu as it is, but also do a search for marinated tofu recipes online.

Thanks for that, i think i will try that out tomorrow! would i need to cook the tofu before i put it in the sandwich toaster? if u got any recipes that wud be nice because tofu is high in protein and i wud rather eat that!

I doubt you would need to cook it first seeing as you can even eat it raw.

I love tofu scramble,crumble the tofu up and sautee it with a bit of oil with a few vegetables, peppers, onions,mushrooms etc and a bit of haldi, salt, pepper, also chilis or chili powder if you like. Tastes nice on its own or in a sandwich.
