***POST ON BEHALF OF A FRIEND****

A Singh is planning on making an animation on the events of 1984 to inform and educate the masses. The animation will be freely available to all.

It will cover the assassination of Indira Gandhi and will include speeches of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale (with subtitles). The creator is very concerned that he does not put anything incorrect into the programme so the sangat's input is needed.

This thread is for anyone to make any suggestions regarding what should be included in the script, from start to finish. So please post any ideas to help towards general awareness of 1984.

Thanks

Also try to keep the emotional tie/romanticizing the subject at a minimum. A factual tone with citations would be most effective and could actually be used in the education and political realm...

With emotion and overly romanticizing the events (not that it's wrong or anything) and without proper citations of events and research, no one other than our own community will look at it...

Hope it goes well.

That is absolute key. I'm glad you brought this issue forward. Yes, whilst we should not be ashamed of our Sikhi spirit, the people we need to reach are, on the whole, only concerned with the facts. Anything which has even a hint of emotion - no matter how true - is not taken seriously, and sadly dismissed as a propaganda piece.
